Business process reengineering uses tools like Six Sigma to make processes more efficient by reducing defects, variability, and waste. Six Sigma aims to reduce defects per million opportunities to below 3.4 to achieve world-class quality levels. It takes a data-driven approach to systematically identify and address issues, whether known problems or unknown causes, in order to improve processes related to products, costs, returns, resources, and other business factors.

 Also we try to find out issues for which we do not know the
original or root cause. Or in many cases we may not even
be aware of the exact problem!
