During his time there, he worked in the quality control laboratory analyzing ibuprofen powder and tablets. His work included identifying ibuprofen through tests of its physical properties and reaction with reagents, and assaying ibuprofen tablets to determine the percentage of the active drug. Through this experience, Richard was exposed to pharmaceutical testing and quality control procedures, laboratory equipment and safety practices.
