Dr. Camille Rutherford at Brock University developed an EdTech cohort program to better prepare preservice teachers for 21st century classrooms. The program included hands-on technology training, a course on integrating technology, curriculum design instruction, and an emphasis on becoming educational technology leaders. Through blogging, social media use, and workshop delivery, participants established open professional learning networks within and beyond the university. The program enhanced participants' individual learning and ability to disseminate knowledge, while cultivating a commitment to instructional leadership with technology.
