2. Advantages
These schools provide a more relaxing environment
with less distractions and less social pressures to
worry about, such as impressing the opposite
gender.
Teachers have the opportunity to tailor/design the
curriculum in a way that students connect with it,
selecting subjects which are of more interest to each
gender and speak more about their concerns.
Lesser cliques, students are more generous towards
their peers and less prone to forming groups that
exclude others. Less cattiness among groups
and bullying.
In some regions due to cultural or belief reasons
these single-sex schools are the only way for girls
and boys to access education.
3. Disadvantages
These distinctions creates gender stereotypes and
promote social sexism; both genders start thinking
they are better than the other.
Students decrease their social ability leading
them to feel shy or uncomfortable meeting their
counterparts, finding it hard to adjust to the mixed-
gender society in the future.
They miss the opportunity to listen to perspectives
and gain a broader understanding of each other.
Reduces the opportunities to enhance
communication skills or to be positive influence.
This structure struggles to adapt to students with
alternative gender identities, gender is not binary.
