- 3. Simple past The simplepast expresses an action in the past taking place once, never, several times. It can also be used for actions taking place one after another or in the middle of another action.

- 9. Interrogative Form Making questions insimple past is similar to negative statements. You start with the auxiliary DID followed by the verb in its bare form: Did I know you? Did you work? Did he write anything? Did she go anywhere? Did it work? Did you understand? Did we need anything? Did they like anybody?
