At the car wash Oskar Ruff & Co. OHG in Esslingen, CBL Chemobau coated both the fully automatic roadways and the SB Clean Park using with the system VIASOLDECK rapid. This waterproofing system of VIACOR Polymer GmbH is fast-curing at low temperatures as well as highly resistant to abrasions und chemicals. A separate wear coat ensures a very good slip resistance, which is absolutely necessary for a (self-service) car wash to prevent injuries. This allows pedestrians and staff to move safely about in the car wash. The system VIASOLDECK rapid complies with DIN EN 1504-2 and DIN V 18026, class OS 11a (OS Fa) and RILI SIB 2001, class OS10 as a drivable waterproofing and is therefore ideally suited for any car wash.

glass in overhead situations as well as in vertical details (e.g. spandrels and glass walls) without any visible mechanical fixings, thus creating large, even, opaque glass surfaces. Furthermore, this system, in a recent project, made it possible to achieve a weight
reduction of 30 % when a PVB-laminated safety glass system composed of 2 x 12 mm thicknesses was replaced by a laminar composition system comprising a 10 mm thick glass panel, a 6 mm thick layer of silicone and a 3 mm thick aluminum back sheet.

CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
