UP TO 1957 CASE BUILT SOME CONSTRUCTION RELATED EQUIPMENT WITH HORSE DRAWN ROAD GRADERS AND MODIFIED FARM TRACTORS MADE TO DO BUILDING WORK. THE REAL CHANGE CAME IN 1957 WHEN CASE WAS THE FIRST TO OFFER A TRACTOR LOADER BACKHOE DESIGNED, MANUFACTURED, SOLD AND WARANTIED BY A SINGLE COMPANY. IN FACT THIS YEAR WE ARE CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF LOADER BACKHOE LEADERSHIP WITH SPECIAL EVENTS ARPOUND THE WORLD. ALSO IN 1957 CASE ENTERED THE DOZER MARKET WHEN WE ACQUIRED THE AMERICAN TRACTOR COMPANY. MANY DEVELOPMENTS WERE MADE THROUGH THE YEARS. IN 1966 WE LAUNCHED THE “CONSTRUCTION KING” BRAND OF LOADER BACKHOES. ONE YEAR LATER WE ENTERED THE EXCAVATOR MARKET WITH THE ACQUISITION OF DROTT MANUFACTURING. IN 1969 THE UNILOADER SKID STEER WAS BORN. THE 1970’S AND THE 1980’S WE WERE BUSY PERFECTING OUR PRODUCT LINES WITH UPGRADES AND INNOVATIONS. AS THE EXCAVATOR BUSINESS GREW WE ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH SUMITOMO TO MARKET EXCAVATORS PRODUCED IN JAPAN.
