Renaissance Period
The Renaissance period covers 1300 to 11600 AD.
Renaissance literally means “rebirth”, it refers to the rebirth of learning that
began in Italy spreading to England and back to Italy.
There was an enormous renewal of interest in and study of classical antiquity.
The Renaissance Period saw the cultivation of a vocal polyphony that has
never been surpassed.
Referred sometimes as the “Golden Age of Polyphony”

Amerigo Vespucci and Ponce de Leon gave men a new picture of the
Earth.
It was the birth of two famous explorers: Christopher Columbus and
Ferdinand Magellan

Copernicus (1473-1543) attempted to prove that the sun rather than
the earth was at the center of the planetary system.
