In religion, Martin Luther challenged the authority of the Catholic Church, leading to the Protestant Reformation and division of Christianity. In the arts, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael drew inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman cultures, and Shakespeare wrote dramatic works that have endured.

3. Renaissance Period
The Renaissance period covers 1300 to 11600 AD.
Renaissance literally means “rebirth”, it refers to the rebirth of learning that
began in Italy spreading to England and back to Italy.
There was an enormous renewal of interest in and study of classical antiquity.
The Renaissance Period saw the cultivation of a vocal polyphony that has
never been surpassed.
Referred sometimes as the “Golden Age of Polyphony”
