Topic: Types of signals and methods to
check their stability
Presented To: Dr. Masood
Presented By: Shehbaz Ali
Roll No: Mcs2200102
University of Education Division of
Science and Technology Township,
Lahore.
Objectives
 * To learn about signal and their type.
 * To understand the concept of signals stability.
 * To check the signal stability.
Stable and unstable signal
 A System is said to be bounded -input, bounded-output
(BIBO) Stable system if and only if every bounded input
Produces a bounded output.
 What is bounded Signal?
 A Signal whose magnitude is always a finite value.
 1x(n)1≤M
Example bounded signal
 Step Signal
 Sine wave signal
 Impulse Signal
 Decaying exponential Signals
Example Unbonded Signal
 Ramp Signal
 Increasing exponential Signal
Stability of signal
Definition of signal
 A signal is define as a time varying physical phenomenon
which conveys information.
 Example;
 Electrical signal, computer signal, voice signal, video
signal. Signal are expressed mathematical y as a function
of one or more independent variable.
Type of signal
 Signals are classified into the following
categories:
 Continuous Time and Discrete Time Signals.
 Deterministic and Non-deterministic Signals.
 Even and Odd Signals.
 Periodic and Aperiodic Signals.
 Energy and Power Signals.
 Real and Imaginary Signals.
Periodic and Aperiodic signal
Real and Complex signal.
Contionus and Discrets time signal
 THANKS ✍️
