He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

1. The goal for this sign is to represent all that entails Figurative Language geared towards elementary
students; particularly 3rd through 5th grade students. What I like about this is that my message is in
a different color and can be read within the context of the attributes that make up Figurative
Language. I plan to use this as my opening cover page in our unit on Figurative Language.

3. First Design
On my first design, I wanted to create something that was fun, vibrant,
and aligned with what I could use with my online teaching. The quote I
used and the information I presented helped bring together Figurative
Language. However, as I progressed through the course, I realized how I
could simplify my design and still get the message across.

5. Second Design
On my second design, I wanted to create the proximity look that
displayed Figurative Language at the bottom. This also represents
symbolism because Figurative Language supports the different parts
that teach us what it is. I like this design, but new I could do more to
create the effect I want.
7. Third Design
On my third design, I wanted to create a color theme/tome and
simplicity. I really love this design because it reminds me of life before
color. The black outline is great because it creates emphasis on the
theme of my design. I also like the puzzle pieces I used to help
represent my message.
8. FIGURATIVE
LANGUAGE
Expresses an idea that goes beyond the actual
meaning of the words.
Describing and comparing something to something
else.
Interpreting figurative language means to understand
what the author says.
Each piece fits together like a puzzle.
9. Fourth Design
On my third design, I wanted to create contrast and explanation. I really
love this design because it reminds me of a monopoly card. The black
outline and white text with pops of color help the reader understand
what figurative language is. The words in color are descriptive words
without using the actual elements of alliteration, hyperbole, etc.

Editor's Notes
Proximity: I wanted to go with a minimalist and simple looks. My hidden message – or symbolism – with this ties into the background color. As you see, it starts at the top with “darkness” and as you progress towards the bottom, you come to the “light”. This plays into the language as each of these words (parts) make up Figurative Language (whole). I also made it flow down to Figurative Language because we start at the top and read down to the end product; which is Figurative Language.
Contrast: Another option I did was do a grayscale contrast. I wanted to also play on the words a little bit and put in puzzle pieces for “piece” and “puzzle”. The simple looks gets the message across as well. This is also one of my favorite designs. It almost gives off a sense of an old movie from the 1950s.
Contrast: Another option I did was do a grayscale contrast with colored words that help define Figurative Language. I thought this would create a quick reference card that students/viewers could use. It also reminds me of a Monopoly game card.
Style: For style, I wanted to create a puzzle out of the words. Within the puzzle my subtitle “Each piece fits together like a puzzle”. It is intertwined with all of the different types of figurative language. I really like this because it focuses on my message and my title.
