Chapter 14- Customer Satisfaction, Loyalty, and
Empowerment

Topic
“Share A Coke” method made sales boost really high for the first
time in ten years here in the U.S.
 It allows you to put your name on the bottle you are drinking out
of.
“Share A Coke” is also found online where you can put your name
on a virtual bottle and show it on Social Media websites.
 Coca Cola needed to come up with a new marketing strategy due to
the decrease in sales in the past ten years.
Interest in Topic
 I know many people who purchase “share a coke” including
myself.
 Free advertising is important for companies, and over the summer I
saw on all of the social media “share a coke” ads everywhere.
I found that Coca Cola was very smart to allow you to write your
own name and submit it in, not to long later you will see your name
out on the bottles.
Coca Cola was getting new customer just so they can have their
names on a bottle.
How this topic relates to my assigned
module marketing?
Chapter 14 is “Customer Satisfaction, Loyalty, and Empowerment.
 Coca Cola satisfies customers with “share a coke” because now they have their
names on the bottle, and most likely will never throw out that bottle.
Loyalty, plays a role because to most of the customers buying “share a coke”
was already a Coca Cola customer. Also for the customers who did not like coke
might now be loyal customers.
Empowerment is an important technique in this topic because its letting your
customer control the marketing activities, and strategies. Their main point in this
was to get their customers involved.
Problem Solving & Global Orientation
My marketing topic links to problem solving, and global orientation
out of the three competencies.
Problem solving because Coca Cola needed to find a marketing
strategy to boost sales and gain more customers. Coke had not had a
boost in sales in a decade until this summer hit with “Share a Coke.”
Global Orientation plays a role in my topic because “share a coke”
is popular all around the world, also they host different events around
the world for their products. Coca Cola is sold all around the world,
but mostly popular here in the U.S.
