3. Aspects of normal sexual behavior
• Sex Drive – This motivates the
person to seek for sexual stimulation
. It is a strong driving force in
determining human behavior
• Sexual Arousal- Is a response to
sexual stimulation. Different People
are aroused by different stimuli i.e.
Sights Sounds smell touch and
fantasy.
• Genital Response- Response to
sexual arousal Male is rapid
component of Penile erection
Female slow Component
Vasocongestion of the vulva and
Labia Minora, Vaginal secretion . The
genital response is accompanied by
Increase In BP & HR.
• Orgasm-In the male pleasurable
experience accompanied by
ejaculation of forceful expulsion of
semen from the urethra.Female it is
pleasurable accompanied by a
spasm of the muscles of the 1/3 of
the vagina

8. Management
• Rule out medical or psychiatric
disorder that may produce
impotence
• Analyse the problems and decide
sexual therapy
• Counseling and educating the
persons on sexual anatomy, sexual
response and sexual practices
• Teach the pts to relieve anxiety
through relaxation technique
• Use some of Masters and Johnson”s
Sensate Focus Technique
In which couple is to start slowly with
no genital stimulation for a week
Followed by manual genital
stimulation b4 proceeding to attempt
sexual intercourse
This reduces Anxiety increasing feeling
of security and improves
communication and understanding

9. Gender Identity Disorder Transsexualism
• Is a gender identity disorder
characterized by a sense of
discomfort and a wish to
physically become a member of
the opposite sex
• The pt is psychologically a
member of the opposite sex
• For Example Male Transsexual
believes that he is a woman &
wants to convert himself into a
woman by a sex change operation

10. Disorders of sexual preferences
• Fetichism-A psychosexual Disorder in
which sexual arousal and gratification are
brought but by objects such as shoes,
underwear and toilet articles
• Transvertism- A psychosexual Disorder
characterized by recurrent and persistent
cross dressing for the purpose of achieving
sexual excitement
• Exhibitionism- A psychosexual Disorders in
which preferred method of sexual
stimulation and gratification consisted of
repetitive acts of exposing the genitals to
strangers
• Voyeurism – A psychosexual Disorder in
which the preferred method of sexual
gratification consists of repetitive
observation of people in different states of
undress or sexual activity
• Pedophilia A psychosexual disorder in
which the preferred method of sexual
stimulation and gratification consists of
repetitive sexual activity with children
• Sexual Sadism A psychosexual disorder in
which individual inflicts physical or
psychological pain on another persons to
achieve sexual excitement
