1. setting your financial goals (see two samples
below)
short-range goal (within 1 month)
I can tutor math to elementary or
middle school students. I can earn $15
per hour. If I start tutoring 2 hours per
week, I will earn $90 per month.
Recently, there was a middle schooler
who asked me if I could tutor him for
grade 9 math. If I start tutoring the
student, I will be able earn $90 per
month. If the student decides to stop
the class, I could always start tutoring
another student as there are students
in my waiting list. Ideally, I would be
able to earn $90 per month until I
graduate.
Objective $90 per month
(can be earnings, certification,
other?)
Estimated Cost
None
(could be time, money, other
output?)

medium-range goal (2–12 months)
I will search all possible part-time jobs
I can do. I would be able to find
available jobs through the Tri-City
News. There might be job applications
from Super Store and Subway. After
finding one, I will send a mail
regarding the job. If I do manage to get
hired, I will probably work 6 hours a
week, which is $270 per month.
