2. Summary of Current SEO Position
● Husky Communications currently has no SEO and has a search visibility of 0%.
It does not appear on Google search results at all.
● The Husky Communications website needs to add titles, meta descriptions,
keywords, content more relevant to those keywords, and clean up spelling
errors, broken links, and have the site loading faster. Then Husky
Communications will gain more domain authority and linking domains.
3. SEO Best Practices
● Identify who you want to reach, what decision they need to make, and when in
their decision-making process you need to reach them (can be multiple times in
the process)
● Gather data on how they search and how popular specific search terms are. It’s
SEO - it’s about searches, not search engines
● Align who is searching, and how they search with what you offer
● Create content that shows that your site is where relevant information on the
identified consumer searches can be found
5. Keyword Suggestion

10. Keyword Ranking and Search Visibility
Search Visibility:
● Husky Communications: 0%
● BU Communications: 1.17%
● NYU Steinhardt: 0%
● Rutgers Communications: 0.02%
Husky Communications and NYU both have the
lowest search visibilities. They are not appearing
in Google search results for their keywords.
Keyword Ranking:
11. Domain Issue
● Husky Comms has a comparatively low domain
authority (79) when compared to BU comms
(90) , and NYU Comms (91).
● One of the reasons for that is Husky Comms
has just 55 total inbound links compared to the
almost 34 million of BU, and the 1.2 million of
NYU.
● Apart from that, there are only 3 different
domains linking to Husky Comms.
● While it is a positive aspect that out of the 55
inbound links, 54 are followed links, the
number is just so overwhelmingly low that it
absolutely does no good to the overall domain
authority of Husky Comms.
12. On-Page Issues
● According to the Moz report, there are
numerous on-page issues. From a quick glance
at some webpages, these issues are glaringly
obvious (for example, some of the blog posts
have really long titles.)
● Some issues that stand out here are 51 missing
meta description and 25 missing or invalid H1.
● Several of these aren’t critical issues. The good
part is that they can be fixed relatively easily.
Long descriptions, titles and URLs are all low-
hanging fruit.
● However, there are two critical errors in the
form of 404 errors of the following two URLS:
/faq-version-1-0/
○ https://cpscomm.sites.northeastern.edu
/case-study-page/
13. On-Page SEO Has Historically Been Neglected
● 110 issues with unminified
JavaScript and CSS files
● 53 pages have low text-
HTML ratio
● 51 pages don't have meta
description
● 25 pages don't have an h1
heading
● 15 pages have a low word
count
● 10 pages have too much text
within the title tags
● 3 external links are broken
● 3 pages have duplicate H1
and title tags
17. Recommendations
● The website needs to appear on popular Google search results among the
target personas
○ SEO is about appearing on searches occurring in the moment, that are relevant to your consumers’
needs. A site needs to appear when and where consumers search for needs you meet.
● The website requires content-specific keywords, spelling corrections, and the
addition of new keywords
○ Using a keyword-based template library might help in the creation of more keywords for our website
● How can we make our website more SEO friendly?
○ Including meta descriptions and titles will make the website more SEO friendly and will aid crawlers in
better understanding the content of a webpage, which is a factor in the SEO ranking algorithm. This, in
turn, will assist site owners in increasing the number of clicks on their website
18. Recommendations
● The website needs to build more inbound links to get the benefit
○ Internal inbound links may be created linking GitHub, Research Gate, Instaguide, Medium Bloggers,
and Wikipedia.
○ Pitch Ad Age, Boston Globe, and other media to publish our work on their websites, which can then be
linked to our site
○ If the links are not working or are broken, it gives the end user a negative image. Furthermore, this will
have an effect on the overall SEO score of the webpage. Links on a webpage should always be checked
before publication as a recommended practice.
● Additional changes that can be made to the website.
○ Web sites are optimized when they use new-generation image and video formats, since this assures
that the pictures are compressed (smaller in size) and load quicker on different client browsers
○ Few images are JPEG; nevertheless, utilizing WEBP files might increase the site's functioning
capability
○ Heading tags and alt tags are important too in the structure of a webpage. These not only improve the
visual appeal of a webpage, but when utilized appropriately, they also improve the page's accessibility
score
