1. Job Title: Senior IT Administrator / Technical Writer
PURPOSE
Reporting primarily to the Head of IT Service Operations but more widely to the IT Leadership team
and CIO, the role is accountable for IT process and governance administration in respect of our IT
activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
To assist with the design and creation of key documentation repositories for the IT function
which may include: system documentation, policy, process and procedural documents,
governance, risk and control documentation. To ensure that a good quality and robust system
is in place in respect of filing systems, taxonomies, controlled access and review cycles for key
documents.
Pull together disparate information about process and systems and, with addition of material
provided by stake-holders, produce robust, well-written version controlled and standardised
documents which describe aspects of IT policies, systems and processes.
Build a library of suppliers and third parties, working with IT stakeholders to devise standard
sets of data kept for each (e.g. contacts, contracts, maintenance schedules and so on) and to
ensure that such documentation is kept current in conjunction with relationship owners.
Devise and maintain a key events timetable for IT including, for example, contract renewal
dates, key annual tests and other similar events.
Ad-hoc tasks to include general administration activities when required
Responsible for accurate registration and reporting of Software assets for the Group (i.e.
Microsoft, etc)
Manage exception and monthly reporting for the CIO.
Manage administration workload whilst prioritising urgent requests that arise.
Improving productivity to meet the business’s needs.
Improving the existing systems and controls
Actively manage tasks as required (e.g. documentation, Purchase Orders, Supplier forms,
ECFs) and ensure that agreed objectives are delivered to time and quality
Where necessary, to purchase equipment and services using the purchase ordering system
adhering to correct authorisation process and governance.
Where necessary, manage invoice queries, credit notes and the delivery of orders for the
Information Systems and Services department. Collate information and raise requests for new
suppliers to be administered on Focalpoint
Responsible for IT Asset Management policy & process adherence for both Bexhill and
Newmarket.

Contribute and own aspects of IT Administration quality procedures and processes.

Microsoft Office Suite 2007, 2013 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and
Outlook)
Microsoft Visio
Familiarity with RFPs and supplier tendering / contract management
Knowledge of personal lines insurance business.
A relevant technical or professional qualification.
