SECTORS OF
INDIAN
ECONOMY
BY ARSH KAMRA
TOPICS TO BE
COVERED
• SECTORS OF ECONOMIC
ACTIVITIES
• IMPORTANCE OF TERTIARY
SECTOR AND EMPLOYMENT.
• ORGANIZED AND
UNORGANIZED SECTOR.
• PUBLIC AND PRIVATE
SECTOR.
PRIMARY SECTOR
WHEN WE PRODUCE A GOOD
BY EXPLOITING NATURAL
RESOURCES, IT AN ACTIVITY
OF PRIMARY SECTOR AS MOST
OF THE ACTIVITY ARE RELATED
TO THE AGRICULTURE IT IS
ALSO CALLED AGRICULTURE
SECTOR.
SECONDARY SECTOR
SECONDARY SECTOR COVERS
ACTIVITIES IN WHICH NATURAL
PRODUCTS ARE CHANGED
INTO OTHER FORMS THROUGH
WAYS OF MANUFACTURING
THAT WE ASSOCIATE WITH
INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITY THUS, IT
IS ALSO CALLED INDUSTRIAL
SECTOR.
TERITIARY SECTOR
ACTIVITIES WHICH PROVIDE
HELP TO PRIMARY AND
SECONDARY SECTOR ARE
PLACED UNDER TERTIARY
SECTOR.
SINCE THESE ACTIVITIES
GENERATE SERVICE SO
THESE ACTIVITIES ARE
CALLED SERVICE SECTOR
sector and
employment
WHY TERTIARY
SECTOR HAVE
MORE
GROWTH
THAN
OTHERS?
1: In any country several services such as
hospitals, educational institutions, post
and telegraph services, Police Stations,
courts, villages administrative offices,
municipal corporation, defense,
transport, bank, insurance companies,
etc. are required. This can be considered
as the basic services. In the developing
country the government has take
responsibility.
2:The development of
agriculture and industry leads to
the development of services such
as transport, trade, storage
already seen. Greater the
development of the primary and
secondary sector more would be
the demand for such services.
3: As income level rise, certain
sections of people start demanding
many more services like eating out,
tourism, shopping, private hospitals,
private schools, professional
training, etc. Sector you can see this
change quite sharply in city is
specially and big cities.
4: Over the past decade or so,
certain new services such as those
based on Information and
CommunicationTechnology have
been important and essential.The
production of this services has
been rising rapidly.
5: Not all the services sector is
growing equally well. Service
sector in countries employs
many different kinds of people.
at one end there are limited
numbers of services that
employee highly skilled and
education educated workers.
More people are
working in
primary sector
than required so,
if some are
removed
production will
not be effected
this is called
disguised
unemployment.
WAYSTO INCREASE EMPLOYMENT
1. The government can lease
lands for farming.This will
increase the employment, as
well as it will increase the
crop production
2 The government must take
responsibility to give a job for
every graduate.
Organized and
unorganized
sector
ORGANISED UN-ORGANISED
•Public and
private
sector.
