 Case study on the transportation of Subsea Distribution Unit from Petrojet Maadia to Abu
Qir port then to Cote d’Ivoire to be installed in an off-shore well near Abidjan port.

4.  Navigation & trip permits:
 Navigation permits:
 Permits that are obtained from different entities such as naval base (military) and port authorities that allows
deep sea vessels, barges, tug boats, etc. to navigate out of ports to the open sea, into ports from open sea or
between one port and another.

5.  Navigation & trip permits:
 Road trip permits:
Are permits that are obtained for the movement of any heavy lift or over-dimensional cargo usually shipped
on special means of road transport such as lowbeds.
These permits are obtained from the GARBLT (General Authority of Roads, Bridges and Land Transport)
 The following documents needs to be presented to the GARBLT to obtain such permits.
1. Technical drawing of the load including:
 Item weight
 Item precise dimensions
 Center of gravity
 Lifting and lashing points
Documentation required prior to execution

6. 2. Technical drawing of the transport mean that contains:
 Transport mean tare weight
 Transport mean maximum payload
 Precise dimensions of the transport mean
 Transport mean configuration (Axle lines, files, etc)
 Ground bearing pressure (tons/square meter)
3. Route survey that contains:
 Purpose of the route survey
 Load description, quantity, weight and dimensions
 Transport mode
 Itinerary (Map and pictures)
 Route obstacles and actions required (Civil works, move in opposite direction, etc.)

7.  Lifting tools/equipment conformity certificates
 Is a document issued by certified inspection companies certifying that the tool or equipment is
thoroughly inspected and is fit for use as described.
 This document contains:
 Description of the certified tool/equipment
 Owner name and place of examination/inspection
 Examination date and certificate expiry date
 Examination method
 Examination result and recommendations
Documentation required prior to execution
