Startups and Smalltak - Presented at Smalltalks2014 Córdoba, Argentinasebastian sastre
Here are the slides of the talk I gave at Smalltalks2014 in November 2014, in Córdoba, Argentina.
It covers the basics of why startups matter and what they actually are. Then show some opportunities and challenges about them and for Smalltalk in particular. It closes with some questions and suggestions on how to raise the value of the community, hopefully resulting in increasing the chances to see more profitable portfolios.
The Lean Startup Basics and Intro for BeginnersBlaz Kos
The presentation focuses on providing an overview, fundamentals and history of the concept of the lean startup companies.
The presentation very clearly shows why business plans are not that much important anymore, what is waste in business and how to reduce it and why every start-up must be a learning organization.

A solution is “Nail it, then scale it” approach to growing your business. To make it easy to remember the approach we have boiled things down to a simple “ABCs” formula:
A = Ask for help
B = Build ideas together
C = Clarify
S = Build in Systems for growth
God Loves You Leaflet by Janet Edmonds.pdfElton Sherwin
Why is it that some people discriminate against queers and some churches and conservative Christians are so against the LGBTQIA+ Community?
This leaflet provides some of the answers.
Part of the problem is that some churches teach that the Bible, God’s Word, says that homosexuality or being queer is a sin. This teaching is WRONG! This leaflet explains 7 specific Bible scriptures often called the “CLOBBER PASSAGES” because they are used by conservative Christians to “clobber” the LGBTQIA+ Community. When these 7 scripture passages are read without knowledge of context, history, and original intent, it’s easy to jump to the WRONG conclusion that God doesn’t approve of same-sex or queer relationships. Using the words literally, as they appear in the Bible, to condemn all queer people, is a MISINTERPRETATION of the original scriptures and the initial purpose of why they were written.
FIRST, a look at 2 AMAZING Bible scriptures that are AFFIRMING and ENCOURAGING for the LGBTQIA+ Community.
The Case for Delaying Most Second Shots Grows StrongerElton Sherwin
Should America be delaying first doses for half the country to give a second dose to those who have already received one shot? A growing number of scientists, epidemiologists and doctors say no.

price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

– The first three sentences really matter
– Don’t start with Bios
• It should be COMPELLING
– One to three sentences
– Practice it everywhere
– When people offer to invest in the grocery store
