Authority (the number of inbound links you have for your site)
● SEO is constantly changing and the techniques is that
worked last month might be not applied today, except the
number of backlinks that you have.
● The link coming from New york times is a lot more
authoritative than one coming from little website.
Technical aspects
● Optimize for mobile.
● Responsive Design.
● Page speed.
● Make meta title and description SEO friendly.
● Use AMP (Accelerated mobile pages).
● Optimize for voice search by focusing on long tail keywords.
● Use human language like “Ftkat”.
● Use https instead of http.
● Generate site map.
Technical aspects
● robots .txt files are case sensitive and must be set on main directory.
● Crawler cannot access infinite scroll (Webmaster Central Blog).
○ Chunk content into component page that can accessed when javascript
is disabled.
○ Determine how much content to include and avoid overlaps.
○ Recommended structure:
■ example.com/category?name=fun-items&page=1
■ example.com/fun-items?lastid=567
■ example.com/fun-items#1 (less optimal)
○ Verify pages thay out of bounds in the series return 404.
Technical aspects
● Use canonical to define the preferred URL also it effect on share counts.
● Remove or force the trailing slash in the end of URI.
● Add meta tags for sharing on facebook and twitter.
● Differentiate between 301 and 302 and google recommend to keep
redirect in place for at least one year.
● Don't include arabic slug in URL as it explained in Yoast article.
