2. THERE +
IS + a singular noun
ARE + a plural noun
We use “there is” (singular) / “there are” (plural) to say that something is located
in the place or exists
Examples:
There is a mouse in my house.
There are many young teachers at NYS.

3. SOME / ANY
We use "some" in positive sentences. We use some for both
countable and uncountable nouns.
Example:
• There is some milk in the bottle.
• There are some books on the table.
We use "any" in negative sentences or questions. We use any for
both countable and uncountable nouns.
Example:
• Is there any cheese in the box?
• No, there isn’t any cheese in the box.
