4. Content will increasingly be bundled with mobile plans, starting with music and expanding to other media.
5. Experts foresee major growth in mobile advertising, payments, augmented reality, and "Internet of Things" connections between devices and sensors.
Culture shock
This document discusses the typical stages of culture shock that people often experience when living in a foreign culture:
1) The "honeymoon phase" where everything in the new culture seems exciting and wonderful.
2) The "anxiety" stage where the novelty wears off and small frustrations with the new culture emerge as things no longer seem as good.

Keith Flowers discusses his family's migration patterns from Jamaica, Belize, and California. His mother's family moved from Jamaica to New York in 1960, then one by one to California in 1983 for better opportunities. His father's family moved directly from Belize to California, also seeking better lives. After living in Los Angeles most of his life, Keith and his family moved to Corona 7 years ago.

Mass media has both positive and negative influences on society. Positively, it allows widespread communication of information and events. However, it can also distort or sensationalize information, and influence public opinion. The media promotes unrealistic ideals of beauty, wealth and success that impact teenagers. It also exposes youth to excessive advertising of junk food. While media coverage can raise awareness of issues, it also thrives on conflict and drama over long-term solutions. Overall, mass media is a powerful force that should be consumed carefully and critically by the public.
Positive Effects Of Mass Media
Mass media has significant influence on teens in both positive and negative ways. Positively, it exposes teens to new ideas and information to help them learn and grow. However, it can also negatively impact teens' body image and self-esteem by promoting unrealistic societal standards of beauty. The overuse of social media by teens in particular has been linked to increased rates of depression and anxiety. While mass media was originally intended to inform and entertain, it is important to consider its far-reaching effects on vulnerable teenage audiences.

Bible+Culture 2015: 5. Daniel 9–12
1) Daniel prays to God and confesses Israel's sins. Gabriel appears and informs Daniel that Jerusalem will be restored and that there will be 70 weeks of years until an anointed one is cut off.
2) Daniel has a vision of future events involving conflicts between kings of the north and south. An especially evil king will persecute God's people but will ultimately come to his end.
3) God reassures Daniel that he is sovereign over history and will deliver his people from extreme persecution, even raising the righteous to everlasting life in his kingdom. The themes are God's faithfulness and the ultimate victory of good over evil.

Is christianity the only way?

Bible and Culture 2014 – Hosea day 5
The document provides an analysis of the structure and themes of the Book of Hosea. It is divided into seven sections (A-A') that alternate between themes of Israel as a wayward wife/son and their unfaithfulness to God through idolatry. Each section also contains elements of God's past care for Israel, their giving Israel up due to sin, and future hope for restoration. The analysis notes it is difficult to clearly identify the larger units of Hosea and this should be considered a preliminary reading. It then examines several passages in more detail to demonstrate patterns around Israel's relationship to God.
