This English course provided an interesting experience to develop English skills through the TMM learning tool. While the TMM process was exhaustive and easy to use with limited time, it would be improved by guidance documents for every topic. The homework helped communication skills but more topics could be assigned, like writing articles or giving directions. An introduction session and mid-course evaluation with the teacher may aid interaction among partners in the online course.

The student's goals for the year were to improve their English speaking and writing skills. For speaking, they worked on having conversations through steps like learning new words, practicing phrases, and eventually conversing for 3-5 minutes. Their favorite activity was a conversational group where they could practice their goal. For writing, they used websites that provided learning activities and feedback on incorrect words. Their favorite site allowed them to see, hear, and practice phrases and dialogs. Through the conversational group and websites, the student felt they made progress in their English skills and are now focused on learning more advanced vocabulary related to their future career in accounting.

How can we use Newspapers as a Task Based Language Teaching tool

Creating and analyzing various technical documents, including instructions, helped the author understand how to effectively communicate and solve problems through writing.
Social Networking In Education
This document discusses how social networking can be used in education. It describes how Skype allows students and teachers to communicate virtually and connect with people around the world. Using Facebook and email for homework assignments engages students more than traditional assignments. IRC Internship reflection
1) The author completed an internship at the International Rescue Committee in Phoenix, Arizona where she developed an 8-lesson English curriculum focused on teaching refugees job-related vocabulary and skills for cleaning industry jobs.
2) Some challenges included differing opinions from supervisors, students not showing up for the first class, and varying English skill levels among students. The author learned about doing needs analyses, maintaining a positive attitude, and being over-prepared for varying skill levels.
3) Successes included making activities like timesheets realistic for job skills and using content-based instruction around cleaning topics. The author reflects on how to improve lessons using problem-based learning and making activities more student-centered and group-focused
Introduction to Online Learning

Carmen Sanchez took a class that assessed her learning preferences and found she prefers active learning in groups, is a sensing learner, has a moderate preference for visual learning, and falls between sequential and global learning. Throughout the class, Carmen explored various multimedia tools for learning including screencasts, podcasts, and eBooks. She found screencasts especially helpful as they incorporate both visual and auditory elements that match her preferences. Going forward, Carmen sees opportunities to apply what she learned about multimedia strategies to improve learning and communication in both academic and job settings.

The children were enjoying Halloween night, getting candy and visiting decorated houses. A witch appeared and told them they would have a magic night. When the children opened their eyes, they found themselves in a Christmas village as little children on Christmas night. They saw Christmas trees, presents, and a beautiful wooden horse. A snowman told them it was time to return, and then the children found themselves back at the starting house for "trick or treat."

We visited the zoo on a nice morning and saw various animals like monkeys drinking water, sleeping deer, and two jaguars, one black. We then went to the aquarium to see manatees and turtles reproducing in their natural habitat along with an incredible diversity of colorful fish. However, the most enjoyable part of the day was swimming with dolphins, which are intelligent, beautiful, and friendly animals.

Carlos enjoys traveling to uncommon places and experiencing life. He has traveled by hot air balloon in Hidalgo, Mexico and gone canoeing with friends on the Filobobos river. Carlos likes Mexican history and traditions. He and his wife enjoy romantic moments together, such as dining at romantic restaurants with wine, chess, fruit and music or walking on the beach to see the sunset. Carlos also reflects on evaluating his life in this world.
