Under my position as an Engineering Program and Global Business Development Manager, I focus on
global business development, technical sales outreach and training, and program optimization in the Energy
Systems & E-Mobility Segment of UL's Energy and Power Technologies Division of UL LLC.
This requires an extensive knowledge of UL, ANSI, IEC, CSA, NFPA 70 (NEC), and IEEE standards used
in conducting certification investigations for a variety of products concentrated in distributed generation,
energy storage systems, power conversion and grid interactive equipment, wind turbine converters, solar
panels and photovoltaic equipment, lithium ion cells, microgrids, and battery packs.

• Led several Katas to improve job aid tools, internal and external training documents, form
documents for certification processes, and customer facing activities.
• Lead revision efforts of UL standards (UL 1741) via participation with Standard Technical Panels
(STP).
• Served as technical lead for sales and attended several trade shows in Europe as well as USA.
• Conducted first preliminary investigation for IEC 62109-1 and -2 and involved with IEC 62109
developments within UL.

• Served as technical lead and trainer for development of new inverter engineering staff during a
long term assignment at UL’s Germany office in Frankfurt, Germany.

development and equipment optimization and qualification.
• Managed a group of 5 engineers and 4 laboratory technicians including technical development,
daily scheduling, and evaluating work assignments to develop a master schedule for multiple

• Regional Lead Reviewer (RLR) for UL 1741 related categories in UL Energy division since
November 2009. Also qualified L3 reviewer in all associated distributed resource equipment.
• Developed several certification requirement decisions (CRD’s) with UL 1741 Principal
Designated Engineer including creating the requirements for non-isolated (transformerless)
inverters now used for evaluations of these products by UL LLC.
• Main technical lead for SMA Solar Technology (UL’s largest inverter client and global market leader).
• Created UL 1741 Inverter Training and lead training with UL Asia and UL Europe staff.
• Conducted product certifications of renewable energy equipment including construction
assessment, NEC compliance, testing, data analysis, and final compliance assessment to the
applicable standard

directly affecting the accuracy of natural gas measurement and control facilities at 30 transmission
