2. About Sikkim’s organic farming
In January 2016, Sikkim became India's first 100 %
organic state. All the organic farming in Sikkim is done
without using fertilizers and pesticides, providing us
all safer food and making agriculture a more eco-
friendly activity.

5. Impact of organic farming on the
Environment
Organic Farming has a great impact on our lives as well
as environment. It has a lot of environmental
advantages. It reduces the usage of chemicals in the
farming and helps in reducing the carbon footprints. It
helps in reducing water usage mitigating the loss of
water. It enhances biodiversity. It results in a better soil
quality, reducing soil erosion as well as land pollution.

Important organically

are oranges, large
cardamom, ginger,
turmeric, cherry paper,
baby corn, buck heat,
