2. 1. DEFINITION:
The term organic agriculture describes alternative systems of agricultural production
and is considered synonym of biological, ecological or alternative agriculture. There are
many definitions of organic agriculture but all agree that it is an agricultural production
system that promotes healthy and safe production of food from an environmental,
social and economic point of view.
Organicagriculture aims to develop highly efficient forms of agricultural production that
take advantage of the natural and cultural potential of each place without destroying
water, soil, air or organisms living in or around the place. These aims have put to many
business which use many synthetics products in behind the eight ball.
3. The strong development of modern organic agriculture began in Europe when farmers
and consumers began to worry about the consequences that could have the agricultural
activity for the people and the natural resources due to the great amount of chemicals
used in both, conventional agriculture and conventional animal production.
Sale of organic foods is one of the fastest growing market segments within the global
food industry. People often buy organic food because they believe organic farms
produce more nutritious and better tasting food from healthier soils.
In order to protect the consumer certification systems have been developed. In our
country, some farmers who want have the organic certification have used pesticides one
in a while because of is very difficult kick the habit. The institution responsible for
providing and supervising this activity is the Agricultural Health Nacional Service -
SENASA.

As consumers, we see eye to eye that we must to consume healthy and nutritious
products that do not pollute the environment. Furthermore, taking care our planet
never is in vain.
