This document provides information about the English department's textbook, materials, evaluation criteria, grading, and links for the 2016-17 school year at I.E.S. Praia Barraña. Students will use Burlington Books textbooks and complete term tests, essays, tasks, and oral activities. Evaluation includes reading, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and phonetics. Students who fail terms can pass with a 5 if they pass the next term, and cheating results in a 0. Personal student information is also requested.

Essays: 15% (one for each unit)
Tasks / Observation : 20% (participation, homework, projects, progress in skills, behaviour)
Oral activities: 10%
• 2nd TERM:
Term test: 43% (reading 12%, listening 8%, grammar 12%, vocabulary 8%, phonetics 3%)
Essays: 12% (one for each unit)
Reader (libro de lectura): 15%

.2nd TERM:
Term test: 43% (reading 12%, listening 8%, grammar 12%, vocabulary 8%, phonetics 3%)

Tasks / Observation : 15% (participation, homework, projects, progress in skills,

Oral activities: 10%

8. FINAL GRADE
1st TERM: 10% + 2nd TERM: 20% + 3rd TERM: 70%
Resit exam at the end of the 3rd
term only for those
students whose final grade is below 5 points.
The students who fail the 1st
and/or 2nd
term will get a
mark of 5 points in those terms if they pass the next
one.
Cheating means getting a mark of 0 points in tests,
tasks or projects.
