This document provides instructions for Schedules 1 and 2 of the Indiana state tax form IT-40. Schedule 1 covers various deductions that can be claimed, including renter's deductions, homeowner's property tax deductions, tax refunds, interest income, and other deductions. Schedule 2 covers credits that can be claimed, such as credits for local taxes paid outside of Indiana, county credits for the elderly, college credits, credit for taxes paid to other states, and other miscellaneous credits. Both schedules have limitations on the total amounts that can be claimed.
