The Japanese are a traditional people hence their movies
reflect on that fact, to say the least this particular one was
no exemption to that rule, from art style to characters to the
names and legends brought forth in the movie. The movie in it
itself was simple in both design and in animation which you
rarely see in Japanese creations, though that may be the case
for this movie it still has it's charms from character dept to
its flow. This slice of life in particular shows us an
artist's life and what were considered acceptable back then in
ancient Japan, bring your family honor with your hard work or
be useless and go to hell when you die. these factors don't
only show how nationalistic the Japanese people are but it
also shares the Japanese culture, to let us see in their
perspective. Filipino films on the other hand are so and so
either a miss or a hit due to the amount of sponsor and
advertising that's put in them and they just stand as very
long commercials for their brands, nowadays anyway. Back in
it's prime Filipino films are much like American films showing
off drama and action but little culture, unlike what we've
seen so far. Hence forth that it's only a matter of time til
the film industry here dies off due to being too generic even
if the animation is good it lacks the story thereof so it will
never really gain any popularity unlike Japanese films.
