My name: Ledesma, John Dominic E.
Course I completed the work in: BFA 3-B
My finished piece:
How I made my work:
As I was sorting through old toys to find parts I saw the perfect things to bond together, two incomplete
dinosaur figures that you need to assemble together. The process in a way was a bit tedious mostly due to the
fact that the joints were joined with a strong type of wire. The imagining and building process on the other hand
was quite soothing and relaxing as it took shape and form you’d see the image and final incarnation of the toy
laid bare.
My Artist Statement
I made this sculpture to go back to my childish roots when money was scarce and I had to build my own toys.
Most Filipino children back then did so and I was no different. The experience was rather nostalgic and
enjoyable to say the least and in the end I found myself wanting to build another one.
