This document outlines a rural development project called SELF-AWARENESS FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SARD) with the goals of alleviating poverty, increasing environmental awareness, promoting organic agriculture, and developing women's and children's health. The key approach is developing self-awareness among rural people through training programs. These programs will teach human values, physical and mental health, and ecological awareness. Participants will form cooperative communities to engage in climate-smart agriculture and handicraft production. The project will use marketing, information technology, and awards to promote and integrate the communities.

As a developing nation we are facing lots of problems and
challenges. Among all the challenges, according to their
impact and urgency we can mark them as red mark
challenges.

15. Co-operative Community
• Co-operative community will work in small
groups. (30 members = 1 Group)
• Every group will get special training and
guideline on small projects like Organic Farming
and Handicrafts.
• If a community consists of 20 groups that means
30x20 = 600 skilled human resource; it can be
run like a big productive industry.
16. Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA)
• The Food and Agriculture Organization of the
United Nations (FAO) defines climate-smart
agriculture as consisting of three main pillars:
1. Sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and
incomes (food security)
2. Adapting and building resilience to climate change
(adaptation)
3. Reducing and/or removing greenhouse gas emissions
(mitigation) where possible.

• Co-operative members will get proper training
on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and will
know about essential climate related issues.
• They will also get practical guideline and
support to run commercial projects of Organic
and Herbal farming.

national and international market for the produced
items of co-operative community.
• Produced items can be supplied to Shopping Malls
and as well as national and international trade fairs.

• An Organic Chain Store can be built in urban area,
where all kinds of organic and herbal food products
and handicrafts items will be sold.
• Quality products, proper marketing strategy and
running such Organic Chain Store are enough for
developing of all the community people, co-
operative community and as well as sustaining the
SARD project.
20. Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
• ICT will work as an integrator and development tool.
• An interactive website will contain all the training
materials and contents for the guides and
supervisors. They will provide necessary updated
information to the community people.
• Guides and supervisors will update regularly all
the activities and reports of SARD project.

• Support and guideline from agronomist,
environmentalists and special experts will be
available through online.
• Co-operative community of SARD will be
connected with global forum of CSA.
• Online connectivity will also help promoting the
products of co-operative community.

sectors and target groups for their better
performances and achievements.
• Awards will also be given to the guide,
supervisor and individual co-operative member
for their excellence and achievement.
