The document discusses new features in SAP HANA SPS 10 related to scale-out, high availability, and disaster recovery. Key updates include:
1) A new check for existence of vital database files during savepoint execution to detect accidental file deletions.
2) Support for dynamic tiering with its own failover group to enable host auto-failover across servers with different storage capacities.
3) Optimizations in row store handling for faster takeover times with SAP HANA system replication and new support for monitoring replication in the SAP HANA cockpit.
The first phase includes the architecture and development of scale-up scenarios, which will be tested together with SAP in the coming weeks. System replication will help to replicate the database data from one computer to another computer in order to compensate for database failures (single-box replication). This will be followed by a second project phase involving an extension for scale-out scenarios (multibox replication).
This session will discuss the new features in SPS11 for SAP HANA Spatial. SPS11 introduces Spatial Clustering capability, and supports three clustering algorithms.
With SPS 11 for the SAP HANA platform, some major additions to SAP HANA extended application services are planned. On the JavaScript side, we plan to add Google V8 and full support for Node.js. We also plan to add a standard Java runtime (TomEE). The deployment infrastructure is planned to replace the current repository for SAP HANA. Come and see the features of the deployment infrastructure and the new XS Advanced run times, how design-time objects will now be managed in GIT and how to utilize the new container concept.

Hana Memory Scale out using the hecatonchire ProjectBenoit Hudzia
This session will present a memory scale-out solution that liberates SAP HANA, or similar memory demanding enterprise applications, from the classical limitation of underlying physical servers. The solution relies on key enabling technology developed within SAP. It allows applications or hypervisors to go beyond the boundaries of the underlying hardware, and effectively enables a fluid transformation from commodity sized physical nodes to very large virtual instances, in order to meet the rapidly growing demand of memory intensive applications.

Paths to SAP BW/4HANA
Most of you know that SLES was the only supported OS for SAP HANA few years back. But for quite sometime, Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP HANA 6.5 is certified minimum version available for productive usage, which is based on Intel IvyBridgeEX (Xeon E7 v2) CPU architecture.
I was working with SLES since Nov'2009 and installed SAP HANA 1.0 built 5 for the first time. Due to other commitments, I was not looked into RHEL part till Dec'2014. Remotely, from Bangalore, I was working hands-on with RHEL colleagues on their Lab through their OPEN program and that's why collected some basic knowledge on this.
SAP HANA 1.0 SPS08 is the minimum version of SAP HANA certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP HANA is required for SAP HANA installation.
In April'2015, I have successfully completed SAP HANA Installation on RHEL platform. Then using my guide, Banaglore team was successfully installed SAP HANA 1.0 SPS 09 on RHEL in VM environment. We also done successful upgrade of HANA Rev. after the basic installation.
I have created the SAP HANA on RHEL Installation guide. This document discussed about the step-by-step process for preparation of RHEL OS and then SAP HANA Installation on it. It can help for TDI specific activities. One can use the same and provide feedback. The guide is here attached with.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
