A cave from the Basque country

The cave of Santimamiñe is on Vizcaya.
Santimamiñe is included on the list of
UNESCO world heritage sites.

country. People found paintings of the paleolithic.
Santimamiñe is one of the most important on the
Basque Country because they have goods paintings
rocks.
On 1916 some child's discover this cave. On 2006 they
closed the cave to the public.

3. The paintings are found in three small panels in the main
passage and a small side passage consisting of corridor called
the Antechamber and a final Chamber, which has most of the
art. Above all, the Chamber has numerous figures of black
bison accompanied by a horse. In general they are not very
large figures and not too carefully painted, but they are very
characteristic of Magdalenian art in north Spain and the
Pyrenees. In total the cave has about 50 paintings .
The cave is an ancient places. It has a length of three hundred sixty-six meters.
Santimamiñe has stalactites and stalagmites, form figures curious.
