This cave is in Puente Viesgo (Cantabria) and it’s
UNESCO World Heritage.
2. In the Monte Castillo there are many caves and one of this is the Monedas´
cave.
This cave was discovered by the ranger Isidoro Blanco in 1952. Later, he
showed the cave to Felipe Puente and Alfredo García. In this day they
discovered some drawings.
This cave has been investigated for many researchers.
The first name of the cave is “La cueva de los Osos” because some beards
lived in there, but the investigators discovered some coins of the age of the
Catholics Kings and they change the name.

3. Paintings
This cave has a lot of paintings. The paintings are distributed in two
halls.
There are twelve horses and a mare. There are two bisons and four
reindeers. There is a deer and also a bear. There are three goats.
There are some unidentified drawings and many lines and symbols.
This paintings don´t have any colours.
4. Description and findings
The last hunter-collectors painted animals of cold weather that lived there. The cave is formed of columns and stalagmites.
The cave is 800m large but you can only visit 160m. The cave is 187 metres of altitude.
The cave is next to Cueva de la Pasiega and at the same altitude.
There was discovered bones of bears, deers and other animals, a bronze ache,
a awl and the coins.
