This document introduces the SAMR model, a framework for teachers to integrate technology into learning tasks by focusing on the task rather than the technology. It describes the four levels of the model - substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition - and provides examples of how teachers can apply it. These include having students create vocabulary flashcards using online photo editors and collaboratively mapping a Shakespeare play using online mind mapping software. Various digital tools for teaching and learning languages are also presented.

SAMR is a model that allows the teacher to focus
on the task not the technology.
The idea is to transform the product of the task
not the objective.

Vocabulary

During a unit on the American election
process, the pupils need to study and know a
variety of specific terms related to the
process. The students need to be able to
visual the terms, understand the context of
the terms, and use the terms appropriately.

vocabulary list and produced a selfie
that illustrates the concept without
specifically stating the word.

14. The selfies were used to create a set of picture flashcards on Quizlet.
