Fynbos and forest biomes are the main contributors to vegetation diversity in the Garden Route.
Indigenous forests in the Garden Route cover 35 765.4 ha. The biome of the Garden Route contains
69% of South Africa s sub continent plant species. Approximately 30% of the Garden Route is
covered in fynbos. Mountain and lowland fynbos have been converted into pine plantations, having

There are short term and long term plans for clearing alien invasive plants. When seed banks of AIP s
are present, the restoration potential is low and the impact on the environment is high. The Garden
Route s fynbos biome is most affected by the AIP s.
Ground should be 60% free of slash, which stimulates germination, in order to control AIP s. In order
to achieve initial restoration goals, alien weeds should be cleared and bear ground should be exposed
followed by a controlled fire through the area as heat and smoke germinates cues required by fynbos
species. Steep slopes and plant species may influence the restoration potential. Controlled fires
prevent local fynbos specie loss. No fire or too frequent fires reduce restoration potential. Initial

loosely translated to mean Humanity , but the true power and meaning of the philosophy can be found
in the summary of the phrase Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu , which can be translated to mean A person
is a person through other persons. or I am because we are.
The basic principal of Ubuntu is that a the success of a person is measured by the success of his
community and the people around him, meaning that if your community is healthy and prospering
than the individual is also healthy and prospering.

This type of interview allows room for discussion and the opportunity to speak freely in answer to the
questions giving the participant a more relaxed feeling of a conversation not an interview. The
interview was videotaped as well as transcribed (see appendix one for full transcript) this provides the
researcher with two forms of data each of which would not give the complete picture on their own.
The participant was a 50 year old single British woman which ha been provided by the Open
University, who gained the consent of the participant for the materials to be used. The participant was
fully briefed before the interview and debriefed after the interview, the interviewer also informed the
participant that she had the right to withdraw from the research at any point and also asks for the
consent form to be read and signed. When the interview had been completed thematic analysis was
carried out, re watching the videotape with the transcript to first make descriptions of what is going

The world of copyright was just as convoluted in the 1920 s as it is in our world today. The film studio
Prana Film, which produced the 1922 German Expressionist film Nosferatu, was sued for copyright
infringement by the estate of Bram Stoker, the author of the 1897 Gothic Horror novel Dracula, and
ended up filing for bankruptcy after only distributing one film. While this may seem like an immense
failure for the studio behind the silent film, it ended up influencing almost a century of vampires, in
novels, television, and other films, and made the name Nosferatu synonymous with the equally
influential novel that it was based upon. On the surface, Nosferatu is a blatant copy of Dracula, from it
s plot, to the characters (besides the change in names), to the portrayal of vampires in general; in
reality, many aspects of both bodies of work differ immensely from one another, providing both
Stoker and director F. W. Murnau pieces that have influenced generations of vampire media. The
structure, characterization and overall tone of Nosferatu is developed differently than Dracula in order
to differentiate itself from it s source material and provide an alternate adaptation of an iconic tale.
Rather than illustrate the story epistolarily like Dracula, Murnau chooses to utilize a limited point of
view in Nosferatu in order to provide more suspense and uneasiness for the viewer. While some forms

Spelling needs children to recall the word from memory and recompose it without being able to see it.
Children who are in secondary school aged between 11 16 carry out spelling activities. During nursery
and primary school they learnt the basic phonics to help them read, write and spell. Spelling help to
further develop each child and young person s skills. For example within my setting I was working
with the nurture group and they received ten spellings every week. Most of the children within the
nurture group had SLCN. The children with SLCN always struggled with their spellings, so therefore I
provided my support to whoever wanted it. All the spellings they received every week had the same
sound in common, e.g. heat, meat, cheat, great. All of these words have eat in common. Within my
support I explain to the children that the words may sound differently but the spellings they always
received had sounds in common so therefore pointing this out they was able to think of the starting of
the word and knew each work has the same sound in and was then able to achieve more marks out of
ten on their spellings. This helped to boost their confidence and self esteem because they knew they
could do it.
