Femme False Body
The fragmented femme fatale body that is, the isolated parts of the mysterious and threatening
female body is a pervasive element of Antigone by Sophocles and Antigona Furiosa by Griselda
Gambaro. In fact, from a symbolic point of view, almost every scene contains a detailed aspect of
the femme fatale body some enigmatic, others clear cut that serves to strengthen the meaning of the
political and social issues Sophoclesand Gambaro raise. Sophocles, a prominent Greek tragedian,
wrote plays that demand an exploratory inquiry of the ways characters speak and the distinct
expressiveness of their individual idiosyncrasies and, significantly, feelings (Bowra 385). Equally
important, Gambaro is an Argentinian writer, either admired or deeply disliked, as a result of her
radical decision to place the femme fatalebody on the Argentinian stage and recover bodies and
memorialize them (Pottlitzer 103).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this way, because Sophocles version of the femme fatale s tragic demise is rather bleak and,
perhaps, overlooked, Gambaro s innovative revision and bold portrait of the femme fatale, whether
she is seriously wounded or uncontrollably angry, suggests that the corporeality of the twentieth
century femme fatale testifies to the vitality and imaginative freedom with which patriarchs, such
as Creon, associate womanhood with the otherworldly of character. This essay primarily engages in
a contextualization of Sophocles femme fatale and Gambaro s femme fatale by analyzing the
symbolic function of the femme fatales and, importantly, their body

Tennessee Williams And The Glass Menagerie
Tennessee Williams was an American author generally regarded one of the best playwrights eve
to come out of the United States. Between the 1940s and the 1960s, he was one of the most
prolific playwrights penning several award winning plays the most popular of which was The
Glass Menagerie. His work is known for its dramatic flair, poetic language, heartbreaking themes,
and gritty characters that have made them timeless American classics. Tennessee was born Thomas
Lanier Williams III in March 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi to straight laced minister s daughter
Edwina Dakin Williams and a traveling salesman Cornelius Coffin Williams. In 1918, the family
moved to Louis, Missouri where Cornelius has found a job as the manager of the international
Shoe Company in St. Louis. His parents were constantly fighting due his father s violent temper
and drinking. Things were even worse for the young Tennessee, who because of a serious bout of
diphtheria became less robust than his father wished, resulting in... Show more content on

Honing in on human emotions that influence the interaction between family members it is set in St

their father upped and left the family several years past. The abandonment by their father has had a
profound impact on the family, which to an ordinary outsider would be the epitome of
dysfunctional. Amanda tries her best to ensure that her children become the best they can be but
given that they are now adults, she has little if any authority to control their behavior. Both of the
children had quit night school and Amanda s hope of Tom becoming a business man or Laura
becoming a typist have long since faded. Nonetheless, she still thinks highly of her children and
glosses over their faults, which increasingly increases the odds that Tom may just become a mirror

Paterno V. Sandusky Case
horrendous crime was committed for over a decade and was covered up by the top leaders of the
university community. The crime was committed by an assistant coach of penn state university. His
victims were young boys that came through his second mile charitable organization program that
was established for at risk young boys in the community of Pennsylvania. These victims were
between the ages of 10 and 15 years. The paper also examined the leadership role of the head
coach Joe Paterno who was the top leader in the football team who also knew about horrific crime

Ronald Shreffler recorded the victim s mother throughout a call with Sandusky. According to court
papers showed that Sandusky acknowledged that he showered with the victim, as well as with
others boys. The victim s mother cuts off contact with Sandusky after a second call, he tells her, I
wish I were dead, according to court documents.
On June 1, Jerry Lauro, an investigator from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, takes
part in an interview of Sandusky by Shreffler. According to the grand jury report, Sandusky admits
to hugging the boy in the shower, and says he will never shower with young children again.
Another boy was interrogated by Shreffler who reported similar treatment reported by the 6th
Victim. But the investigation ends after District Attorney Ray Gricar decided the case warranted no
criminal charges. Shreffler reported to the grand jury that Thomas Harmon, who headed the campus
police, told him to close the inquiry. Subsequent investigative reported that Sandusky retired from
Penn State s football program in the year 1999, but with an emeritus label that allowed him
continued access to campus facilities, including the locker room and an office in the latch football

Graphic Design
Visual communication is the transformation of thoughts and ideas into pictures, photos, graphs and
drawings. It is considered as the most interesting and fascinating form of communication because
of the creativity it contains and the vision it requires. According to Wikipedia, visual
communication is most commonly used daily when surfing the internet because a person uses his
eyes to view the websites therefore the content of the website should be clear and understandable
for the viewer s eyes. It is usually practiced by using the means of graphic designin order to put
across their ideas into pictures or real life projects. This paper will talk about Graphic design,

Another requirement of becoming a graphic designer is to receive a certificate that proves the
person is capable of using any program that is relevant to design, since employers won t request
work experience but they would rather have a person with skill rather than experience (The
Advertiser, March 1991).
There is a long list to go through in order for a person to choose what part of graphic design he
/she want to specialize in. That list includes creative director, layout artist, brand identity design,
logo designer, flash designer, illustrator, technical illustrator, Photoshop artist, multimedia
designer, photographer, prepress technician and a web designer. Each of these job titles has
responsibilities such as, a creative director is responsible for making sure that each of these
workers produce and complete their work on time and to the client s satisfaction. A logo
designer s job is to provide a new and innovative way to express the key message of a company
through a recognizable image. And a web designer s job is to create the pages, layout, and

jobs requires different courses, different certificates, and different experience, but they all share the
sense of creativity and inventiveness in them.

Reflection Topics For Marine Biology
1. What is the Program Focus of this Integrated Learning Subject?
What have you learnt so far?
In marine biology this year we have covered many topics. We began the by learning to snorkel
safely, in this topic we spent a couple of weeks learning the correct techniques and safety measures
to snorkel safely. During this time, we went on many trips out of school to go on dives as a group
to practice our skills for the final practical examination. After completing the snorkelling component
of the marine biology course we went on to learn about how to maintain a temperate marine
aquarium. In this topic we firstly learnt how to set up a temperate marine aquarium, then went
fishing to fil our tanks. Once these tasks where completed we learnt about all of the step needed to
ensure that the aquarium was successful in keeping the marine animals alive, this included learning
about the pump system, how to clean the tank and how to do the various chemical tests to see if
the water was in a suitable condition for the animals to live in. after learning about how to
maintain a temperate aquarium we looked into local marine issues such as seals in the Coorong and
local sharks.

Permutation Based Encoding
This chapter focuses on the evolutionary approaches to optimization problems based on
permutation encoded individuals. A new proposed recombination operator for permutation based
encoding is described cite{Chira 2012}. The proposed operator is using not only genetic
information from the two parents, but from the best individual obtained up to the current
generation too. Some of the most widely studied NP hard optimization problems with many
applications in domains such as logistics, planning, routing, and scheduling are considered to test
the efficiency of the proposed operator. A comparative analysis of several recombination operators
is presented based on computational experiments for Traveling
Salesman Problem, Vehicle Routing Problem, Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem
and some generalized versions of these problems. Numerical results emphasize a good performance
of the proposed crossover scheme.

A combinatorial optimization problem $(S,C,f)$ is defined by a finite or possibly countable infinite
search space $S$, a set of constraints $C={c_1,c_2,...}$ and an objective function $f:S
mathbb{R}$.
A feasible solution for the problem is one that satisfies all the constraints from the set $C$. Let
$F$ be the set of all feasible solutions from the search space. To solve a combinatorial optimization
problem one has to find an optimal solution $s^* in S$, according to the objective function

Many patients with MS may seek help and relief of their symptoms in the so called alternative
medicine. Over 50% of people with MS may use complementary and alternative medicine, since
there is not yet found a proved treatment for this chronic disease. There are multiple trials which
examine the effectiveness of these treatments and deserve our attention. Examining the
characteristics of users, these are more frequently women, tend to be more disabled, have had MS
for a longer time, presenting lower levels of satisfaction with conventional healthcare. Some of
these alternative therapies include: dietary supplementation, vitamin D, hyperbaric oxygen therapy,
relaxation techniques (yoga), herbal medicine (including medical cannabis), and self infection with
hookworms, acupuncture and reflexology.

Film Analysis Of Mean Girls
Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters is a coming of age movie which follows the high school
journey of Cady Heron. Coming from being home schooled her whole life, 16 year old Cady
must survive high school as she learns it is completely different from the environment in Africa.
Mean Girls addresses subjects such as beauty is only skin deep in a light hearted and comedic
manner, making it a movie that can be enjoyed by all ages while still spreading awareness.
Moving from a secluded friendly place in Africa, Cady has no experience of growing up in the
torture that is high school. She meets 2 new people on her first day who teach her about the
school. Not academically, but socially. She is instantly consumed by the drama that is high
school with no sense of how ruthless high school can be. Even though Mean Girls highly
exaggerates high school, I think the way they did so was super effective in telling a story. I
thoroughly enjoyed the comparison of the animal world which is the world Cady used to come
from when living in Africa, to girl world which is where she lives now. As I see it, animal world
is full of savage creatures and harm where all things are resolved with violence whereas in girl
world, to survive you must be sneaky and malicious which were all things Cady had to learn to
adapt to. I think this comparison was used to show how when we are thrown into a new situation,
we can feel lost as if we were in a jungle in fear of our new surroundings. But in Mean Girls, Cady

The Concept Of Automation
Shrinking budgets, shortage of qualified personnel and growing workloads are shaping the
organization of clinical laboratories and the networks around them. As a result, merging and
consolidation of institutions is commonplace to take advantage of economies of scale and as a
result, laboratory automation has been in the rise connecting more sectors to tracks.
A key question to answer is what is the level automation system is right for each clinical
laboratory? Automation can improve lab s efficiency and help clinical outcomes. . However, each
center must value its own objectives of automation for each sector and define if they will require
modular type automation systems or automation.
The concept of a consolidated laboratory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this sense, a definition of automation would include the use of combined and computer set,
robotics and the analyzers to manipulate the samples before, during and after measurements.
The automation of the laboratory, in the broad sense, affects all stages of the analytical process.
This means that new organizational approaches ranging from automation of individual processes to
reorganization projects and total automation. Between both situations there are an important variety
of scenarios that lead to models of laboratory.
Total laboratory automation (TLA) involves the integration of analyzers together with pre analytic
and post analytic. The work of a total automation system begins by managing the samples in an
input module that classifies and loads them in the carriers, centrifuges tubes, uncaps them and direct
them to the analyzers. The samples, after sampled by the analyzer are stored temporarily in
dedicated output location, from where they may be automatically recovered in case it rerun or
reflex testing in necessary.
The automation of clinical laboratories, when done properly and in accordance with to the needs of
each center, provides benefits that include an efficient increase in productivity, the possibility of
adding new analytical procedures without increasing the resources human, the centralization of
processes, reliable management of samples with full traceability, the standardization of the
analytical process, a greater guarantee of

Chronic Periodontitis And Its Effects On The Adults And...
Chronic periodontitis has been identified as the most prevalent form of periodontitis affecting the
adults and occasionally the adolescents and children.(Merin, 2015) This periodontal disease of
inflammatory origin is thought to be the result of host immune response against bacterial colonies
in the subgingival plaque.(Merin, 2015) In many cases, systemic and environmental factors play a
significant role in the disease progression. Common risk factors such as uncontrolled diabetes
mellitus and smoking, contribute to periodontal destruction in genetically susceptible individuals
by modifying the host s immune reactions towards periodontal pathogens. Clinically, the diagnosis
of chronic periodontitisis made based on the presence of supragingival and subgingival plaque
and calculus, signs of gingival inflammation, periodontal attachment loss and radiographic bone
loss. Chronic periodontitis can be further classified based on the extent and severity of
periodontal destruction. Localised chronic periodontitis is diagnosed when less than 30% of the
sites are affected; whereas the generalised form of the disease affects more than 30% of the sites.
The severity of the disease is determined by the amount of clinical attachment loss. It is classified
as mild, moderate or severe when 1 2mm, 3 4mm or 5mm or more attachment loss is recorded
respectively. (Merin, 2015) The treatment of chronic periodontitis involves a sequence of
therapeutic procedures, which is termed periodontal

Essay on Reflexivity
Reflexivity
When an ethnographer examines a group of people, she is influenced by her position and
understanding of her own culture. Before an ethnographer even begins her research, her opinion is
effecting the process of selecting a topic. For instance, Anthropology s most commonly known
researcher Bronslow Malinowsky wrote the Argonauts of the Western Pacific. He did not choose to
study a culture similar to his own because of the interest he had in the exotic . His preferences told
him to pick a more remote group of people, the Trobriand Islanders. There has been a history of
choosing the opposite of the Anthropologists own culture. Reflexivity is the use of one s experiences
to examine a culture. It is my argument that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Resaldo realizes that by including personal events he may come out sounding less professional.
However, I feel it is more professional [especially to this discipline] to be honest about how one
concludes regarding an aspect of culture. His acknowledgment of the natural emotions that
surround rituals gives the reader a more comprehensive and complete account of events. To leave
out such emotions from ethnographies is to . . . remove potentially key variables from their
explanations (p.12). I feel it is worth the use of personal events to base explanations on even when
the risk looked down upon is prevalent. Ruth Behar supports this idea in The Vulnerable Observer:
Anthropology that Breaks Your Heart.
Behar addresses the critics of reflexive anthropology who think that because personal experience
cannot always be believed or seen as factual (Behar: p.169). Scott Michaelson and David Johnson
are her two targets in the speech she has included in her writings. She argues that though
Michaelson and Johnson impose their critique of Resaldo s vulnerability and discussing his
feelings regarding his wife s death, they never make themselves vulnerable (p.169). The vulnerable
state that Resaldo put himself in by telling the way in which his wife died and how it effected him

The Amendment On Searches And Seizures
In two Supreme Court cases and one Court of Appeals case, the Fourth Amendment s clause on
searches and seizures has been questioned in a public school setting. These cases are based on the
question of what constitutes a reasonable search in a public school, as well as, what is defined as
a search and how far that search and seizurecan go. These cases collectively examine the
exclusionary rule, the change from probable cause to reasonable suspicion, what constitutes a
search and how far that search can go. In a public school setting, students rights to be free from
searches and seizures differ from others, as shown in TLO v. New Jersey, Vernonia v. Acton, and

This evidence of drug dealing was turned over to the police and the police asked TLO s mother to
bring her to the police station for further questioning, which resulted in her confession of selling
marijuana at the school. In the Supreme Court, TLO lost to New Jersey 6 3. The question brought
to the court in this case was, did Choplick s search violated TLO s Fourth Amendment, and did the
exclusionary rule apply to the search.
In a public school, it was determined that a person can always refuse a search, there is need for
reasonable suspicion for a search, as opposed to probable cause and the exclusionary rule does
not apply. In TLO, the initial suspicion to search TLO s purse was justified due to the suspicion
that she had been smoking in the bathroom. The majority opinion, written by Byron R. White,
stated, Under ordinary circumstances, a search of a student by a teacher or other school official
will be justified at its inception when there are reasonable grounds for suspecting that the search
will turn up evidence that the student has violated or is violating either law or the rules of the
school. The Court ruled in favor of the school because there was a reason to believe that the
defendant had broken a school rule prohibiting smoking in the restrooms. This clarification by the
Court holds that even students in a public school are protected by

The Nervous And Endocrine Systems
The nervous and endocrine systems are arguably two of the most important systems in any form of
complex organism. They are particularly complex and important in humans. Both systems,
especially in their cooperation, are essential for our bodies to function properly. Any simple fault or
damage to any aspects of these systems that goes untreated could mean at best chronic disease, or at
worst death. This is because both systems together maintain homeostasis in our bodies.
Homeostasis in the meticulous control of bodily processes to maintain a stable internal
environment that allows us to function adequately. This essay will describe and explain how these
systems work both separately and together to maintain homeostasis in the human body.
The nervous system is the first port of call in our body s reception and response to both internal and
external stimuli. Its many components enable us to see, hear, smell, taste and feel the many aspects
of touch, such as pressure and pain, along with many more physical senses such as heat, hunger,
thirst and balance. This system is also wholly responsible for our control of movement.
It is made up of many branches that coordinate different nervous activities in our bodies. The two
main parts are the central nervous system (CNS), which is composed of the brain and spinal chord
(Fig. 1), and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which has several more extensions. The PNS
consists of the nerves that radiate from the CNS; this includes the 12

A Randomized Control Trial, Usher, Alcock, And Petra
In a randomized control trial by Smith, Usher, Alcock, and Petra (2013), the researchers aim to
determine whether the use of NeoWrap, a polyethylene occlusive wrap, immediately after birth was
more effective than standard protocol to control hypothermia in NICU admissions. Participants
consist of 92 infants under 27 weeks of gestation and 44 infants less than 30 weeks gestation. The
infants are randomly assigned to be in either the control or the intervention group; the control group
is transferred under the prewarmed heater immediately after birth, dried and wrapped with
prewarmed towels, and applied a hat. The intervention group is wrapped from the neck the down
with the polyethylene wrap before being transferred to the prewarmed heater and undergoing the
aforementioned process. World Health Organization s definition for hypothermia, as cited by Smith
et al. (2013), is a temperatureof less than 36.5 degrees Celsius. This parameter was used by the
researchers, and the temperatures of the infants were taken upon birth and upon NICU admissions
as well as admission time for both the control and intervention groups. The temperature was taken
axillary on the infantat birth, upon admission to the NICU and every 30 minutes using a digital
thermometer until the infant reached 120 minutes postadmission. The results showed that although
the usage of wrap increased the temperature in neonates less than 27 weeks old, no statistically

High Stakes Testing And The Education System
High Stakes Testing has been overly integrated in the education systems. High stakes testing are
used to determine grade retention, school curriculum, and whether or not students will receive a
high school diploma (Myers, 2015). Since the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001, high
stakes testing has become the norm and mandating that students must pass a standardized testbefore
moving up in grade. As a special educationdirector, the focus is to ensure the student s
accommodations are being followed. Accommodations help increase students academic
performance. Both the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) of 2004
and No Child Left Behind (NCLB) call for students with disabilities to participate in the general
education curriculum and in testing programs to the maximum extent possible for each student
(Luke and Schwartz, 2010). Throughout the years, high stakes testing is becoming more common
than ever before. The reality is high stakes testing is one indicator in evaluating children with
specific needs. This paper will discuss, the violation of the statutory language regarding assessment
based on IDEA, the strategies and goals of a remediation, staff training, common Core and PARCC
assessment, and funding for the remediation plan under IDEA. With high stakes testing, it requires,
states to use accommodation and alternative testing in order to allow states not to exclude students
with special needs from taking any of the state s test. Before

The Characteristics Of An Epic Hero In The Epic Of Beowulf
What makes epic hero stories so compelling? Is it the continuous freedom, courage, and value in
society or is it the significance implemented in who the characters are? Stories have been passed
down for generations. Some of the most famous examples is Beowulf, ВЁGilgameshВЁ , Iliad,
and ВЁJulius Caesar.ВЁ Epic stories portray the development of an epic heroes characterization
through courage, strength, and love of glory throughout the plot of a story. A major epic hero trait
is courage. The act of picking yourself up after you were thrown down to help others. In the story

The History of Female Genital Mutilation and Its Consequences
Female Genital Mutilation According to many Americans, female genital mutilation is one of the
most hurtful practices ever conducted. During this operation, female genitals are partly or
entirely removed with the goal of inhibiting the woman s sexual feelings. In my opinion, there is
no reason for this operation to be happening. This usually occurs before the female experiences
puberty (between the ages of four and eight). The female can suffer for days, weeks, or even
months at a time. This ritual is widely practiced in many parts of Africa and by migrants from
African countries in other parts of the world (Karmaker 20 28). If Americans research and read
what people say about this operation, they can understand what these women and... Show more

Performing this operation or having it on girls of is under the age of 18 is illegal due to the
1997 with the Federal Prohibition of Female Genital Mutilation Act. The first person to be
convicted was a man named Khalid Adem, he cut his two year old daughters clitoris with a pair
of scissors in 2006 and was sentenced to ten years in prison. When a female gets the surgery
afterwards the scar can be reopened before intercourse or giving birth which causes more pain
for the female. Most women are getting this surgery are the ones with a high ranking reputation
in their societies. Female genital mutilation has affected over 500,000 girls and women in
Europe, 75,000 live in Great Britain, 65,000 in France and 30,000 in Germany. Most of these
people are getting affected are migrants. This operation is affecting their health. They shouldn t
affect their health if they were already healthy before the operation was given. I think if you put
some men and women in a room and ask them how they feel about female genital mutilation, the
women would get into a heat discussion about how it s unfair and it should be happening to
young girls and women. I think some of the men would agree but some would just be like it s
whatever and move on with their day. The graph above is a health survey from 2012 in Ivory
Coast, it shows the percentage of female genital mutilation from ages fifteen to forty nine, education

Responsibility Essay
Summary The relationship between people and the environment has always been about ones level
of responsibility. No matter what your belief, each and every one of us is responsible for how we

original relationship between man and nature. Genesis 1:26 28 tells us that God created man and
woman in His image and gave them dominion over all the earth. This included all the animals that
God had created as well as the entire earth. God also charged their descendants with the care for all
the earth (Gen. 1:28). Even after the curse, God never withdrew this responsibility. We must care
for the world that God has given to us. Although Scriptures are in general agreement with many of
the ecology groups that man is responsible for his environment, Christians may disagree

Examples Of Social Darwinism In Mcteague
McTeague
The most familiar theorem associated in the novel McTeague is Social Darwinism, which is drawn
from Charles Darwin s theory of natural selection. Social Darwinism is the application of the theory
of natural selection to social, political, and economic issues (What is Social Darwinism). The
concept interprets the survival of the fittest theory in which the most adapted will survive the
natural conflict of social groups. In its most simplest form, this theory follows the conception that
the strongest will survive and leads readers to distinguish the naturalistic premise of the novel. In
Frank Norris s novel, McTeague, Social Darwinism is displayed through the failure of McTeague

obtains an immense fortune which transforms her into a greedy woman only wanting to seek

becoming a dentist. When these two characters become one, through marriage, their desire to
rise above their social class only cultivates more. McTeague s intelligent profession gives Trina
hope that he will be able to get a higher social position and help her to achieve the same. She
makes a mistake since she can not see an animal in a man, which makes a considerable part of his

process can proceed. The partnering organization will need to follow these steps: 1. A
representative from the partnering organization will need to contact one of our retail locations
such as LensCrafter, Sears Optical, Target Optical, or select Pearle Vision* to establish a
relationship. This is to ensure that the store knows the organization will be doing referrals and
that they have an adequate supply of vouchers to support the need. When an organization is

The organization will need to write a letter of referral for the person in need on company letter

Byron s Depression Reflected in Manfred Essay
Byron s Swiss tour and Manfred hit close to home for me. Not because I have traveled
Switzerland, but because at one time in my life, I also experienced feelings of alienation and
hopelessness. Therefore, I was quite intrigued by Dr Miall s notion of trauma in Manfred. I think
he makes a compelling argument, especially when he pairs the notion of trauma with Freud s
theory on the causes of trauma, but I do not necessarily agree with him entirely. While Dr Miall s
theory is sound, I do not think his definition of trauma is clearly defined. I think a better, but not
nearly as interesting theory, is that of depression. Although the symptoms of both psychological
disorders are almost indistinguishable, their sources are quite different. I... Show more content on

The study on posttraumatic stress syndrome does not include deaths of parents at an early age,
failed marriages, or behaviours that are self destructive. Posttraumatic stress disorder is the result of
a single event, not a succession of events. In Byron s case, his alienation due to the intimate
relationship he had with his half sister can be seen in some ways as self inflicted. I am not
convinced that Byron suffered from trauma; I think he suffered from a severe case of depression
that preceded his exile.
The criterion for abnormal behaviour depends on three categories: deviance, maladaptive
behaviour, and personal distress. Deviance can be described as the violation of the standards
and expectations of society. Maladaptive behaviour is measured by the quality of a person s
behaviour that makes it disordered. In obvious cases, drugs and alcohol are determinates.
Personal distress is usually based on an individual s report of great personal distress (571).
Personal distress can also be reported by what the individual says to friends and family; Byron let
his whole audience know it when he wrote Manfred.
Once an individual meets the criterion of abnormal behaviour, then the type of disorder has to be
identified. Mood disorders are a class of disorders marked by emotional disturbances of varied
kinds that may spill over to disrupt physical, perceptual, social, and thought processes (586). There

Peanut butter is a soft food that has been made by grounding roasted peanuts. Peanut butter is a low
calorie product which often has been used as a spread on breads and serves as important element in

The history of peanut butter dates to Aztec times. They mashed cooked peanuts and was made to a
paste consistency and was used for human consumption. The manufacturing method and the
machinery involved in manufacturing the spread is attributed to three main inventors. In 1884,
Marcellus Edson patented peanut paste obtained from grinding roasted peanuts [3]. After few years
in 1895, Dr. Jhon Kellogg, patented the method of producing peanut butter from raw peanuts. There
were several issues relating to separation of oil from the peanut butter. This was overcome by a

Examination of Mrs Wright in Trifles by Susan Glaspell
The play ?Trifles?, by Susan Glaspell , is an examination of the different levels of early 1900?s mid
western farming society?s attitudes towards women and equality. The obvious theme in this story
is men discounting women?s intelligence and their ability to play a man?s role, as detectives, in the

the play from this perspective we see a distinct set of characters, a plot, and a final act of sacrifice.

The Army Design Methodology ( Adm )
At the close of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the US military ended with varied to questionable results.
This is because US policymakers and military leaders did not adjust to the emergence of new
conditions due to their dependence on medium structure problem framing. The Army Design
Methodology (ADM) is a tool military organizations should use in adaptive environments to
develop solutions for complex problems. To understand why the ADM is a critical tool for military
organizations, military professionals need to understand the impacts of ill structured problems on
planning and execution and the potential influence the ADM will have on their organization. Once
military professionals understand the influence the ADM has on ill structured problems, they can
begin to consider how to integrate the ADM into planning. Despite the enduring nature of ill
structured problems throughout history, the US military consistently focuses on well and medium
structured problems. The US military s focus on well and medium structured problems is a point of
friction because there are several differences between well/medium structured problems and ill
structured problems. The most important difference is that ill structured problems lack
proportionality for inputs, replication over time, additively of its parts, and demonstrability of cause
and effect. Because there are a vast number of interactive and interdependent elements, ill structured
problems garner a great deal of uncertainty. As a result,

Porter s Generic Strategies
Porter s Generic Strategies If the primary determinant of a firm s profitability is the attractiveness of
the industry in which it operates, an important secondary determinant is its position within that
industry. Even though an industry may have below average profitability, a firm that is optimally
positioned can generate superior returns. A firm positions itself by leveraging its strengths. Michael
Porter has argued that a firm s strengths ultimately fall into one of two headings: cost advantage and
differentiation. By applying these strengths in either a broad or narrow scope, three generic
strategies result: cost leadership, differentiation, and focus. These strategies are applied at the
business unit level. They are called... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The value added by the uniqueness of the product may allow the firm to charge a premium price for
it. The firm hopes that the higher price will more than cover the extra costs incurred in offering the
unique product. Because of the product s unique attributes, if suppliers increase their prices the firm
may be able to pass along the costs to its customers who cannot find substitute products easily.
Firms that succeed in a differentiation strategy often have the following internal strengths: Access
to leading scientific research. Highly skilled and creative product development team. Strong sales
team with the ability to successfully communicate the perceived strengths of the product. Corporate
reputation for quality and innovation. The risks associated with a differentiation strategy include
imitation by competitors and changes in customer tastes. Additionally, various firms pursuing focus
strategies may be able to achieve even greater differentiation in their market segments. Focus
Strategy The focus strategy concentrates on a narrow segment and within that segment attempts to
achieve either a cost advantage or differentiation. The premise is that the needs of the group can be
better serviced by focusing entirely on it. A firm using a focus strategy often enjoys a high degree
of customer loyalty, and this entrenched loyalty discourages other firms from competing

Few film directors can capture the feeling of sheer intensity on screen quite like Oliver Stone.
Whether it be with hyperviolent genre pictures like Natural Born Killers or methodical dramatic
pieces like Wall Street, Stone has a knack for delivering intense and often unsettling narratives and

discomfort and disturbia, all while satirizing various facets of American culture. It is somewhat
ironic that one of Stone s most intense films is also one of his more subdued films and less
violently graphic films. The filmin question is 1988 s Talk Radio, based on the play of the same

What fascinated me the most was the men and women who were jumping so high, that they were

Essay On How To Modify Parenting Time In Arizona
In most cases, a custody order is put in place by the court when parents of minor children are
seeking a legal separation or divorce. A modification to a custody order can be made when parents
ask the court to change a custody decision that made previously. When parents file for legal
separation or divorceand they cannot agree on child custody, it automatically falls to the court to
decide the arrangements. This type of custody decision is typically made in temporary orders
hearings and final trial when the parents are unable to reach an agreement on the issue. Once a
decree of legal separation or petition for dissolution of marriageis granted, the court still holds the
authority to make changes to custody orders they already put in place. This is referred to as a
modification of child custody or modification of parenting time.

Describe How The Air Conditioner Unit Has Impacted My Life
The heater or air conditioner unit has impacted my life this past week in a good way. It has
impacted my life in a good way because these past few weeks it has been very cold and a storm
has even came through this side of the country. We had a lot of ice and some snow which of
course is really cold so because of my heating unit that is outside of my house I was warm the
entire weekend. Even when the roads had cleared up it was still chilly outside, I was thankful
that I had heat in my car as well to keep me warm as I drove to work the next day. Without a
heater or air conditioning unit at my house and in my car it would have been as cold on the inside
as it was outside making my weekend very uncomfortable. The air conditioner is also really

The Important Role of Federalism in the Development and...
Federalism plays an integral part in the growth and development of the United States of America
and is a key factor in determining the basis of power in this country. Clearly, the term federalism
can be understood in many different ways pertaining to each person s view, but it can be more
broadly defined in terms of the separation between the state and federal government. Thomas E.
Patterson defines federalismas, the division of sovereignty, or ultimate governing authority, between
a national government and regional (that is, state) governments. Each directly governs the people
and derives its authority from them (Patterson 74). He then goes on to give a more basic definition

These powers provide the federal and the state governments with their role in the function of
federalism. Further, Article VI gives the dominant rule of law to the federal government over the
states rights in case there is ever a misunderstanding. The Framers of the Constitution were
worried that providing such a narrow definition would result in the government being unable to
adapt to change (Patterson 78). Thus, the implied powers are stated in the Constitution under
Article I, Section 8, Clause 18 better known as the Necessary and Proper Clause, and gives
Congress the power to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into
execution the foregoing powers. This clause allows Congress to adapt to change and implement
laws which are necessary given the time. The remaining powers are then given to the states by the
Tenth Amendment. Federalism outlined in the Constitution allows for a separation of powers and
provides specifics for each level, which ultimately allows for a more balanced form of government.
It has been more than 200 years since the Constitution was formulated and federalism has been
through many different interpretations throughout the years. Dual federalism was outlined by a
strict line between federal and state with no room for misinterpretation. You either had the power,
or you

Victorian Ghost Stories Nearly Always Encompass Family
Victorian Ghost Stories nearly always encompass family life in some way or another. One reason
for this may be to emphasize how abnormal a ghostly figure or hauntings really are within the
story and get readers thinking, what would happen if that was happening to them? Making the
stories feel more realistic to a Victorian readership. Family life within the era was held as one of
the most important aspects of their day to day lives, therefore it is only natural for the theme of
family to be present throughout many of the periods ghoststories and other genres. The Victorians
also created the modern Christmas, where families come together on Christmas Eve to read or re

Newton also states that
The familiar unveils its association with the unfamiliar. M.R. James argues that the rooting of a
story in the common world of habits and timetables would aid the process of sympathetic
identification between the reader and the haunted one. This rapport was one more of the genre s
correlations, and the key to its power to frighten. The Old Nurse s Story does very well to stick to
the genre s structure, and is written to a high standard, that makes the readers feel fear, suspense
and hope, which are all key to grasping the reader s attention immersing them into the story and
gaining the most out of it. Gaskell does this by building the plot up to an ultimate climax, where the
characters fully interact with the supernatural beings, this build up is created by using the character
s new heightened relationship and a new unfamiliar setting, leaving the reader unnerved and waiting
for something to happen. Charles Dickens s also stated that The Old Nurse s Story was a very fine
ghost story indeed. Nobly told, and wonderfully managed. Dickens was a highly popular Victorian
author during his own time and within the modern literary world, his opinion on Gaskell s first
ghost story shows just how much of a success it was. The themes of the short story allow for all of
the right elements to come through, the strongest of these themes is the relationship Hester and
Miss Rosamond share, although she is left

ESPN Summary
Travis Vogan made it practically impossible for me not to consider aiming for a job in ESPN.
Reading this book just felt like I jumped into a time machine and got to watch the complete
process of how the Entertainment and Sports Programing Network got where it is today. I truly
adored this book even though it felt like I was reading a long list of order of events, the
information was informative and interesting as Vogan pulled me in with his strong and obvious
theme of Power. Throughout the whole book he just keeps explaining how ESPN wanted more
and more power over the sports, the fans and other networks. Also after reading and fully
comprehending Vogan s use of a 3rd person s point of view, I can interpret that he was telling a story

an emperor, empress, or other powerful sovereign or government. In this case the group of

at ESPN as a lifestyle; an escape from real world problems. As for me being a sports fan, ESPN
is my hero because I can always count on them for keeping me updated on what is happening in
sports industry as a whole. For example, the ESPN app sends me notifications of game results and
even breaking news on various sports. ESPN has an invisible power and control over millions and
maybe billions of people. This book definitely highlights the business of broadcasting in the sports
industry. Vogan does not just mention ESPN but also mentions other networks that could be a great

Multiculturalism
The issue of immigrants conforming to Australian values has divided many. Furthermore, the issue
has been debated by two conflicting perspectives; one side representing multiculturalism and the
other representing conservative nationalism. This essay will argue that the conservative nationalist
position that immigrants must conform to Australian values is problematic as it seeks to exclude
minority groups and thus forces these groups to conform. Prior to this, the statement will be argued
by offering explanations on what Australian values are and the notion of citizenship and citizenship
testing, assimilation, and what is meant by Team Australiaas it relates respectively. This essay will
also analyse briefly the arguments of multiculturalism.
Furthermore, former Prime Minister Tony Abbott famously used the metaphor Team Australia in
2014 responding to anti terror initiatives and to an extent began a string of xenophobic behaviour.
In addition, the rise of Pauline Hanson s One Nation party has brought the issue of immigration and
culture into public debate, such as Ms Hanson s burqa stunt in the Senate which to some would be
a disregard to culture and traditions, while others may see this as a threat to security and an
Australian way of life due to the covering of the burqa and henceforth some advocating for a ban on
religious coverings. Therefore, culture and tradition can be seen to be left out in the view of a
conservative nationalist, multiculturalists however want

The Transformation of Gilgamesh in the Epic of Gilgamesh
The Transformation of Gilgamesh in the Epic of Gilgamesh
In The Epic of Gilgamesh by we see significant transitions in the hero s character as the story is
developed. In this narrative poem, we get a glimpse of who he is and what his purposes and
goals are. We see Gilgamesh act in many different ways. As an overbearing ruler resented by his
people, a courageous and strong fighter, a deflated, depressed man, and finally as a man who
seems content with what he s accomplished. Through all of these transitions, we see Gilgamesh s
attitude toward life change. The goals he has for his own life alter dramatically, and it is in these
goals that we see Gilgamesh s transition from being a shallow, ruthless ruler to being an
introspective, content man.
The epic begins with the men of Uruk describing Gilgamesh as an overly aggressive ruler.
Gilgamesh leaves no son to his father; day and night his outrageousness continues unrestrained;
And he is the shepherd of Uruk, the enclosure; He is their shepherd, and yet he oppresses them.
Strong, handsome, and wise. . . Gilgamesh leaves no virgin to her lover. (p.18, Line 23 27) The
citizens respect him, but they resent his sexual and physical aggression, so they plead to the gods
to alleviate some of their burden. The gods resolve to create an equal for Gilgamesh to tame him
and keep him in line. This equal, Enkidu, has an immediate impact on Gilgamesh. When they first
meet, both having never before met a man equal in stature,

Stained Glass Art Process Analysis
Stained glass artists are talented and knowledgeable craftspeople who specialize in bringing all
types of designs to life. To produce art that is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing, artists employ a
number of tools and techniques of the trade. Here is a brief (and simplified) summary of the
process stained glass artists use to create the colorful designs seen in churches, government
buildings, and private residences.
Creating a Template
Before an artist brings a work to life using small and large pieces of colored glass, he or she first
produces a detailed drawing of the complete image. This drawing will need to be the same size as
the window opening or other area where the art will be displayed. Pieces of glass will need to be
joined with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The artist might polish the edges using a special type of sandpaper or an electric grinder. A brush
is then used to remove any particles from the edges.
Inspecting the Cut and Sanded Pieces
This may be thought of as the quality control step of the process. The artist will inspect each and
every piece to ensure it is the same size as indicated in the template and the right color.
Joining the Individual Pieces Together to Recreate the Template
This is the point at which the design is truly brought to life. All of the individual pieces are joined
using copper foil or lead came to produce the final work of art.
Installing the Art
Finally, the work is installed in a window opening, ceiling area, or other location. The artist is not
necessarily involved in this part of the process. Depending on the size and weight of the work,
extra supports may need to be added to the opening.
Obviously, creating stained glass art is a complex and labor intensive process. For the people who
love the warm glow and classic beauty of stained glass art, however, the final result is well worth
the effort and

Elijah Weesageechak In the novel Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden, Elijah Weesageechak and
his best friend Xavier Bird are Cree soldiers fighting as snipers in World World One. Elijah
becomes corrupted by the war, which leads to his own death by the end of the book. The war
transforms Elijah into a person that Xavier no longer recognizes. He becomes insane. His
transformation was due to the abuse of morphine, loss of his identity and his endless fame in the
war. These are just some points that contribute to Elijah s mentality. The transformation of Elijah to

Xavier to help himself. He improves his sense ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning, Eliah wanted to fit into the army. His English was very well spoken but he
decided to adapt a British accent among the other soldiers. His second step was when he went
against his traditional Cree way. During the raid, Xavier and Elijah were sent as part of a
raiding party to scout out the large craters in No Man s land. They would lob grenades over the
German trenches, killing the people inside. When they returned from the raid, Corporal
Thompson asked how the last days were and Elijah responded with, It s in my blood, (75). Elijah
was never taught to love the death of others. He embraced the concepts of war and killing himself
and in his process, it had changed him into a person that only cares about his reputation as a
deadly sniper. Therefore, Elijah has gone insane in the war because of his lack of identity. Finally,
the transformation of Elijah to become insane is due to his endless fame in the war. Others in the
unit started to treat Elijah differently (100). Xavier is always with Elijah but he never gets the same
attention that Elijah gets. He remains unknown even though he was the one who taught Elijah how
to hunt and he covers Elijah while he

The Transition From Drilling On Shore
Overview This project is dealing with the transition from drilling on shore to more difficult tasks
that companies are taking upon them with drilling off shore into shallow and deep water. Since
drilling for easy oil has depleted, companies are pursuing sources for the heavy oil by moving to
offshore drilling. The project was originally approved in 2014, but since the approval of the
project oil prices have plunged more than 50% percent in 2015. XYZ s Houston refinery is
located on the Texas Gulf Coast and has a capacity of 200,000 bpd. It is capable of processing
mix of light and heavy crudes. The company for years has been considering an expansion project
for the Houston based refinery, which can provide the company with an advantage due to the
favorable heavy crude prices and light oil from the Middle East. The expansion would be
beneficial because bringing the heavy oil from Mexico and Venezuela have both low shipping
cost and lesser travel distance to the refinery. The expansion project would also benefit from the
Trans Canadian pipeline when it s completed which would bring heavy oil from the Oil Sands in
Canada. Objective The Houston Refinery s current configuration refines light crudes with some
capacity to refine heavy crude oil. With the proposed expansion the objective is to increase the
capacity for the heavier crude oil at the refinery, the heavy crude oil would be brought in by
tankers from Mexico and off loaded at the refinery docks and piped into the

The Importance Of Hate Crimes
Prevention Efforts Since the identifiers that put people at risk for this type of crime are not
things that can be changed on the part of the potential victims, other efforts must be made to
keep these individuals safe, rather than just telling a black man to not be black anymore. The
National Crime Prevention Council has put together a list of strategies on how to diminish the
presence of hate crimes, and maybe to one day to extinguish them altogether. Some of these
strategies that have been utilized across America are raising cultural awareness, educating the
public, and especially school age students, about tolerance, and offering counseling for offenders
of hate crimes. While all of these may seem like they would be beneficial for decreasing hate
crimes, it is important to look at how and if they are being instituted in society, and look for
changes in the rates of hate crimes. One of the prevention efforts mentioned above was raising
cultural awareness. This is done inasmuch as increasing the public s view and trust of law
enforcement in order to get the public to share what their communities problems are. A community
will know best what is going on within itself, and a policeofficer cannot effectively do their job if
they are being blocked from the members because of mistrust. Since the number of immigrants in
our society is constantly rising, it is unsurprising that due to language barriers, many crimes go
unreported. This effort suggests that bringing

during the Funeral Oration at Samos that Athens was a free state, both in politics and in social life.
# People might say it wasn t fair because Pericles made Athenian citizenship limited to adult males
who had an Athenian mother and father.# Citizens who wanted to, could try to achieve their private
goals and manage their private affairs. They could have their interests at the service of the city to
help them seek what they desire. Pericles believed that man s capacities and desires could be
fulfilled at the highest possible level only through government participation. # The government that
allowed you the most active participation in government was a direct democracy, so Pericles chose
that form of government for Athens.

  • 2. Femme False Body The fragmented femme fatale body that is, the isolated parts of the mysterious and threatening female body is a pervasive element of Antigone by Sophocles and Antigona Furiosa by Griselda Gambaro. In fact, from a symbolic point of view, almost every scene contains a detailed aspect of the femme fatale body some enigmatic, others clear cut that serves to strengthen the meaning of the political and social issues Sophoclesand Gambaro raise. Sophocles, a prominent Greek tragedian, wrote plays that demand an exploratory inquiry of the ways characters speak and the distinct expressiveness of their individual idiosyncrasies and, significantly, feelings (Bowra 385). Equally important, Gambaro is an Argentinian writer, either admired or deeply disliked, as a result of her radical decision to place the femme fatalebody on the Argentinian stage and recover bodies and memorialize them (Pottlitzer 103).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this way, because Sophocles version of the femme fatale s tragic demise is rather bleak and, perhaps, overlooked, Gambaro s innovative revision and bold portrait of the femme fatale, whether she is seriously wounded or uncontrollably angry, suggests that the corporeality of the twentieth century femme fatale testifies to the vitality and imaginative freedom with which patriarchs, such as Creon, associate womanhood with the otherworldly of character. This essay primarily engages in a contextualization of Sophocles femme fatale and Gambaro s femme fatale by analyzing the symbolic function of the femme fatales and, importantly, their body ... • 3. Tennessee Williams And The Glass Menagerie Tennessee Williams was an American author generally regarded one of the best playwrights eve to come out of the United States. Between the 1940s and the 1960s, he was one of the most prolific playwrights penning several award winning plays the most popular of which was The Glass Menagerie. His work is known for its dramatic flair, poetic language, heartbreaking themes, and gritty characters that have made them timeless American classics. Tennessee was born Thomas Lanier Williams III in March 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi to straight laced minister s daughter Edwina Dakin Williams and a traveling salesman Cornelius Coffin Williams. In 1918, the family moved to Louis, Missouri where Cornelius has found a job as the manager of the international Shoe Company in St. Louis. Honing in on human emotions that influence the interaction between family members it is set in St Louis during the interwar period. Amanda has found it difficult to bring up her two children after their father upped and left the family several years past. The abandonment by their father has had a profound impact on the family, which to an ordinary outsider would be the epitome of dysfunctional. Amanda tries her best to ensure that her children become the best they can be but given that they are now adults, she has little if any authority to control their behavior. Both of the children had quit night school and Amanda s hope of Tom becoming a business man or Laura becoming a typist have long since faded. • 6. Reflection Topics For Marine Biology 1. What is the Program Focus of this Integrated Learning Subject? What have you learnt so far? In marine biology this year we have covered many topics. We began the by learning to snorkel safely, in this topic we spent a couple of weeks learning the correct techniques and safety measures to snorkel safely. During this time, we went on many trips out of school to go on dives as a group to practice our skills for the final practical examination. After completing the snorkelling component of the marine biology course we went on to learn about how to maintain a temperate marine aquarium. In this topic we firstly learnt how to set up a temperate marine aquarium, then went fishing to fil our tanks. Once these tasks where completed we learnt about all of the step needed to ensure that the aquarium was successful in keeping the marine animals alive, this included learning about the pump system, how to clean the tank and how to do the various chemical tests to see if the water was in a suitable condition for the animals to live in. after learning about how to maintain a temperate aquarium we looked into local marine issues such as seals in the Coorong and local sharks. 2. • 7. Permutation Based Encoding This chapter focuses on the evolutionary approaches to optimization problems based on permutation encoded individuals. A new proposed recombination operator for permutation based encoding is described cite{Chira 2012}. The proposed operator is using not only genetic information from the two parents, but from the best individual obtained up to the current generation too. Some of the most widely studied NP hard optimization problems with many applications in domains such as logistics, planning, routing, and scheduling are considered to test the efficiency of the proposed operator. A comparative analysis of several recombination operators is presented based on computational experiments for Traveling Salesman Problem, Vehicle Routing Problem, Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem and some generalized versions of these problems. Numerical results emphasize a good performance of the proposed crossover scheme. section{Combinatorial Optimization Problems} label{sec:combopt} A combinatorial optimization problem $(S,C,f)$ is defined by a finite or possibly countable infinite search space $S$, a set of constraints $C={c_1,c_2,...}$ and an objective function $f:S mathbb{R}$. A feasible solution for the problem is one that satisfies all the constraints from the set $C$. Let $F$ be the set of all feasible solutions from the search space. To solve a combinatorial optimization problem one has to find an optimal solution $s^* in S$, according to the objective function ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are multiple trials which examine the effectiveness of these treatments and deserve our attention. Examining the characteristics of users, these are more frequently women, tend to be more disabled, have had MS for a longer time, presenting lower levels of satisfaction with conventional healthcare. • 9. Film Analysis Of Mean Girls Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters is a coming of age movie which follows the high school journey of Cady Heron. Coming from being home schooled her whole life, 16 year old Cady must survive high school as she learns it is completely different from the environment in Africa. Mean Girls addresses subjects such as beauty is only skin deep in a light hearted and comedic manner, making it a movie that can be enjoyed by all ages while still spreading awareness. Moving from a secluded friendly place in Africa, Cady has no experience of growing up in the torture that is high school. She meets 2 new people on her first day who teach her about the school. Not academically, but socially. She is instantly consumed by the drama that is high school with no sense of how ruthless high school can be. Even though Mean Girls highly exaggerates high school, I think the way they did so was super effective in telling a story. I thoroughly enjoyed the comparison of the animal world which is the world Cady used to come from when living in Africa, to girl world which is where she lives now. As I see it, animal world is full of savage creatures and harm where all things are resolved with violence whereas in girl world, to survive you must be sneaky and malicious which were all things Cady had to learn to adapt to. I think this comparison was used to show how when we are thrown into a new situation, we can feel lost as if we were in a jungle in fear of our new surroundings. But in Mean Girls, Cady ... The Lumbee Problem Essay nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; The first reading was the preface and the fourth chapter from the book, The Lumbee Problem: The Making of an American Indian People , entitled, What are they trying to do now? In this reading, the author, Karen I. Chronic periodontitis has been identified as the most prevalent form of periodontitis affecting the adults and occasionally the adolescents and children.(Merin, 2015) This periodontal disease of inflammatory origin is thought to be the result of host immune response against bacterial colonies in the subgingival plaque.(Merin, 2015) In many cases, systemic and environmental factors play a significant role in the disease progression. Common risk factors such as uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and smoking, contribute to periodontal destruction in genetically susceptible individuals by modifying the host s immune reactions towards periodontal pathogens. Clinically, the diagnosis of chronic periodontitisis made based on the presence of supragingival and subgingival plaque and calculus, signs of gingival inflammation, periodontal attachment loss and radiographic bone loss. Chronic periodontitis can be further classified based on the extent and severity of periodontal destruction. Localised chronic periodontitis is diagnosed when less than 30% of the sites are affected; whereas the generalised form of the disease affects more than 30% of the sites. The severity of the disease is determined by the amount of clinical attachment loss. It is classified as mild, moderate or severe when 1 2mm, 3 4mm or 5mm or more attachment loss is recorded respectively. Before an ethnographer even begins her research, her opinion is effecting the process of selecting a topic. For instance, Anthropology s most commonly known researcher Bronslow Malinowsky wrote the Argonauts of the Western Pacific. He did not choose to study a culture similar to his own because of the interest he had in the exotic . His preferences told him to pick a more remote group of people, the Trobriand Islanders. To leave out such emotions from ethnographies is to . . . remove potentially key variables from their explanations (p.12). I feel it is worth the use of personal events to base explanations on even when the risk looked down upon is prevalent. Ruth Behar supports this idea in The Vulnerable Observer: Anthropology that Breaks Your Heart. • 17. The Nervous And Endocrine Systems The nervous and endocrine systems are arguably two of the most important systems in any form of complex organism. They are particularly complex and important in humans. Both systems, especially in their cooperation, are essential for our bodies to function properly. Any simple fault or damage to any aspects of these systems that goes untreated could mean at best chronic disease, or at worst death. This is because both systems together maintain homeostasis in our bodies. Homeostasis in the meticulous control of bodily processes to maintain a stable internal environment that allows us to function adequately. This essay will describe and explain how these systems work both separately and together to maintain homeostasis in the human body. The nervous system is the first port of call in our body s reception and response to both internal and external stimuli. Its many components enable us to see, hear, smell, taste and feel the many aspects of touch, such as pressure and pain, along with many more physical senses such as heat, hunger, thirst and balance. This system is also wholly responsible for our control of movement. It is made up of many branches that coordinate different nervous activities in our bodies. The two main parts are the central nervous system (CNS), which is composed of the brain and spinal chord (Fig. 1), and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which has several more extensions. I am not convinced that Byron suffered from trauma; I think he suffered from a severe case of depression that preceded his exile. The criterion for abnormal behaviour depends on three categories: deviance, maladaptive behaviour, and personal distress. Deviance can be described as the violation of the standards and expectations of society. Maladaptive behaviour is measured by the quality of a person s behaviour that makes it disordered. In obvious cases, drugs and alcohol are determinates. Personal distress is usually based on an individual s report of great personal distress (571). Personal distress can also be reported by what the individual says to friends and family; Byron let his whole audience know it when he wrote Manfred. Examination of Mrs Wright in Trifles by Susan Glaspell Essay Examination of Mrs Wright in Trifles by Susan Glaspell The play ?Trifles?, by Susan Glaspell , is an examination of the different levels of early 1900?s mid western farming society?s attitudes towards women and equality. The obvious theme in this story is men discounting women?s intelligence and their ability to play a man?s role, as detectives, in the story. A less apparent theme is the empathy the womenin the plot find for each other. Looking at the play from this perspective we see a distinct set of characters, a plot, and a final act of sacrifice. This is because US policymakers and military leaders did not adjust to the emergence of new conditions due to their dependence on medium structure problem framing. The Army Design Methodology (ADM) is a tool military organizations should use in adaptive environments to develop solutions for complex problems. To understand why the ADM is a critical tool for military organizations, military professionals need to understand the impacts of ill structured problems on planning and execution and the potential influence the ADM will have on their organization. Once military professionals understand the influence the ADM has on ill structured problems, they can begin to consider how to integrate the ADM into planning. Despite the enduring nature of ill structured problems throughout history, the US military consistently focuses on well and medium structured problems. The US military s focus on well and medium structured problems is a point of friction because there are several differences between well/medium structured problems and ill structured problems. The most important difference is that ill structured problems lack proportionality for inputs, replication over time, additively of its parts, and demonstrability of cause and effect. Because there are a vast number of interactive and interdependent elements, ill structured problems garner a great deal of uncertainty. As a result, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Michael Porter has argued that a firm s strengths ultimately fall into one of two headings: cost advantage and differentiation. Clearly, the term federalism can be understood in many different ways pertaining to each person s view, but it can be more broadly defined in terms of the separation between the state and federal government. Thomas E. Patterson defines federalismas, the division of sovereignty, or ultimate governing authority, between a national government and regional (that is, state) governments. Thus, the implied powers are stated in the Constitution under Article I, Section 8, Clause 18 better known as the Necessary and Proper Clause, and gives Congress the power to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers. This clause allows Congress to adapt to change and implement laws which are necessary given the time. The remaining powers are then given to the states by the Tenth Amendment. The Transformation of Gilgamesh in the Epic of Gilgamesh The Transformation of Gilgamesh in the Epic of Gilgamesh In The Epic of Gilgamesh by we see significant transitions in the hero s character as the story is developed. In this narrative poem, we get a glimpse of who he is and what his purposes and goals are. We see Gilgamesh act in many different ways. As an overbearing ruler resented by his people, a courageous and strong fighter, a deflated, depressed man, and finally as a man who seems content with what he s accomplished. Through all of these transitions, we see Gilgamesh s attitude toward life change. The goals he has for his own life alter dramatically, and it is in these goals that we see Gilgamesh s transition from being a shallow, ruthless ruler to being an introspective, content man. The epic begins with the men of Uruk describing Gilgamesh as an overly aggressive ruler.
