Parents Keep Child s Gender Secret By Jayme Poisson
In Parents Keep Child s Gender Secret, Jayme Poisson describes how one family choses to raise
their child genderless. They are also keeping the child s sex a secret, although it is not clear if
they are trying to allow the child to define its sex. Gender and sex are two different distinctions that
are often mistakenly seen as the same thing. Society places genderexpectations based on sex, so it s
easy to see why they are looked at as the same thing. It s important to remember that gender
represents a choice, while sex is determined before you are born. The option of choosing is
important when considering the ethics of raising a child. It s why I believe that it is ethical to
allow a child to define their gender and unethical to allow a child to define their sex.
There are three common arguments against allowing a child to define their gender. The first
common argument is that the child will bullied and may not be mature enough to handle it.
Unfortunately, children can be bullied for a number of reasons regardless of their gender. Parents
do not allow bullying to affect other decisions and they should not allow bullying to interfere with
who their child wants to be either. It is he one doing the bullying that has a problem, not their child.
The second common argument against allowing a child to define their gender is that friends and
family will disapprove. However, there is always someone who will disapprove of any decision
you make. Voting, eating meat, sexual

Clean Sweep Characters
Clean Sweep is about a girl named Katie who works in her family s cleaning business called Clean
Sweep and has to clean Mrs. Leonardo s attic. Mrs. Leonardo is a cranky, old lady who has many
memories in her attic. While cleaning Mrs. Leonardo s attic, Katie learns the importance of
special objects in her life. An object is special because it could bring back memories. They could
also bring familys back together like Mrs. Leonardo and her sister. Katie and Mrs. Leonardo both
have special and memorable objects in their life.
To start, Katie has special objects in her life. Her special objects are her dad s essays from when
he was in school. Katie s dad died when she was young and they found all his old essays when
they were cleaning out their own attic. She cherrishes them because her mom says its therapeutic
for her to read the essays. The essays help her mourn her dad. She says, I couldn t throw those out.

shows that Mrss. Leonardo will only use her special tablecloth for very special occasions
because she loves it so much. Also, Mrs. Leonardo found her old childhood book. She thought
her sister, Helen, had it at her house. She thinks it s important beause she doesn t talk to her
sister anymore and they both loved the book. Mrs. Leonardo says, My sister, you see... well, she
s coming to dinner. This shows that Mrs. Leonardo called her sister and told her about the book
because Katie said she should. This book is special because it brough Mrs. Leonardo and her sister

How To Kill Achilles
On Wednesday of June 2, 1257 B.C., Achilles joined the war effort in order to revenge the death of
his dear friend Patroclus.
Previously, Achilles had remained out of the war due to complications with Agamemnon, but that
all changed with Patroclus s murder. Achilles set his problems aside so he could create justice in
his mind.
Achilles found out about his friend s death from Antilochus. He realized that he could only
console himself by killing Hector, the man who killed Patroclus. Achilles was greatly troubled
when Patroclus was slain by Hector. I tried to comfort him, but he was set on killing Hector. He
swore that he wouldn t rest or eat until Hector was dead said Achilles s mother, Thetis.
According to Thetis, Achilles received a

Teaching And Classroom Management Styles
When I took the surveys, I surprised to see how even keeled my teaching and classroom
management styles were. Before student teaching, I had a general idea of what my ideal teaching
style and classroom management techniques would look like. However, I have realized that a
combination of several teaching styles may be beneficial for students because each studenthas
particular needs for the classroom. According to the teaching style inventory, I can be described as
a facilitator first and foremost, followed by a formal authorityfigure, personal model, and delegator.
According to Grasha, a facilitator can be described as a teacher who enhances the personal nature of
student teacher interactions (143). Facilitators are often guiding entities for students because they
encourage independent work (Grasha 143). In my teaching, I have always thought that student
independence is the ultimate goal. I do not wantto be the sole source of knowledge in the
classroom. Every student has something important to say. In addition to my focus on individual
needs, I still possess qualities of a more traditional classroom teacher. I agree with part of Grasha s
analysis of a formal authority figure; formal authority figures are concerned with establishing
learning goals, expectations, and rules of conduct for students (143). Students need some
consistency and expectations for how to operate in a classroom environment. If this is not provided,
there will be chaos. My teaching style includes

Esther Greenwood s Search for Identity in Sylvia Plath’s...
One s identity is the most important lesson to be learned. It is vital part of life knowing who you
are in order to live a fulfilled life. Without knowing your identity, and the way you perceive life, it
is difficult for others to understand you, along with a struggle to live a happy life. In Sylvia Plath s
The Bell Jar, Esther Greenwood struggles to find her own identity, and in the process, she develops
a mental illness which helps her discover the person she is on the inside. In her search for identity,
Esther often compares herself to others. One sign of depression is the feeling the need to compare
yourself to others. Throughout the story, Esther questions other s morals and characteristics and

At the beginning of the novel, Esther describes her life as a tornado. I felt very still and very
empty, the way the eye of a tornado must feel, moving dully along in the middle of he surrounding
hullabaloo. (3) Esther feels as if the world is going crazy and spinning around her, yet she is
standing still in the eye of the storm, not knowing which direction to move in. When Buddy
Willard comes to visit in chapter five, they talk about a poem, however, Esther is day dreaming
about an imaginary conversation she wishes the would have. Throughout the novel, Esther
struggled with what she felt how a woman in her society should act. At times, she feels as if there
is no point to college because most women only become secretaries anyway. She feels as if she
should be learning short hand and other techniques she should be learning for the secretary roll,
however she does not want to. Esther wants to be a writer, however, during the time of the
novel, society gave women the role as housewife. Esther felt pressure to settle down and start a
family. No matter what accomplishments Esther achieves in her life, it doesn t matter too much
because they will not do her much in her later life. Everyone expects Esther to marry buddy and
start a family. Once she becomes a mother, it would be assumed that she would give up her
passion for writing. This discourages Esther because she is not sure that is what she wants with her
life. The role models in the novel have a

Explain Why It Is Important To Have A Maximum Attendance...
The purpose of a meeting is to inform team members of ideas as well as problems that may arise.
During meetings, attendees will have the opportunity to voice their opinions and views whilst
listening to others points of views. The attendees of a meeting should be people who have got a
purpose and opinion towards the agendaof the meeting. Also, a meeting should include a minute
taker to record important notes and also a chair. A chair s main responsibility is to lead the meeting
by beginning the conversation of all the topics and also to open and close the meeting.

Within this meeting, there will be representatives from Quantity Surveyors, Engineers to Architects.
If there are no engineers at this meeting, then there should be serious doubt to whether the meeting
goes ahead. The important to having the right amount of attendees is so no one can miss out on
anything important and also so no decisions are made without their opinion.
Q Explain ways to achieve maximum attendance at meetings. (1.3)
A One way of achieving maximum attendance at a meeting is by sending out an invitation email
which gives the recipient the chance to accept, decline or hold the invitation to the meeting. This
way, it automatically updates their calendar if they accept the invitation and allows you to know
who is attending. Another way to achieve maximum attendance is arranging a time and location
that accommodates everyone that you want to be at the meeting. Choosing a time and place when
someone is busy will ultimately mean that one person already can t make it.

Research Paper On Horse
The horse (Equus ferus caballus)[2][3] is one of two extant subspecies of Equus ferus. It is an
odd toed ungulate mammal belonging to the taxonomic family Equidae. The horse has evolved
over the past 45 to 55 million years from a small multi toed creature, Eohippus, into the large,
single toed animal of today. Humans began to domesticate horses around 4000 BC, and their
domestication is believed to have been widespread by 3000 BC. Horses in the subspecies caballus
are domesticated, although some domesticated populations live in the wild as feral horses. These
feral populations are not true wild horses, as this term is used to describe horses that have never
been domesticated, such as the endangered Przewalski s horse, a separate subspecies, and the only
remaining true wild horse. There is an extensive, specialized vocabulary used to describe equine
related concepts, covering everything from anatomy to life stages, size, colors, markings, breeds,
locomotion, and behavior.
Horses anatomy enables them to make use of speed to escape predators and they have a well
developed sense of balance and a strong fight or flight response. Related to this need to flee from
predators in the wild is an unusual trait: horses are able to sleep both standing up and lying down.

An Age Of Informational Starvation
We are living in an age of informational starvation. People are seeking for something that is
attractive and glowing to see on their screens. Advertisers found that possibility as an opportunity
to shine and they had created many different works that promote their products. However, it is
possible to stop on one commercial, which is called Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Rafael Nadal, which is
the commercial by Nike, to understand the way they appeal to the audience. First of all, like any
other piece of art, the narrator creates the specific theme that addresses the human eye. That theme
provokes a specific response in human mind, and their thinking provokes the profit if the advertiser
was successful. However, the ethos of the current commercial is obvious Nike Company is one of
the leading industries that deliver sports equipment. Nike represents one of the main players in the
sports equipment market. They create rules, and they create trends. Their credibility is outstanding
due to the fact that they are constantly doing different market examinations that concentrate on
trend analysis. That is their profit that is why their researches show them evident details about
marketing trends and they have enough money to adjust. Speaking of the logos of the article, it is
important to mention that this commercial used the paradox as the rhetorical device so that it is
complex to talk about the logical flow of arguments that they present. Their paradoxical choice

Climate Change Is An Important Issue That Concerns Humanity
Climate change is an important issue that concerns humanity. Climate change refers to an increase
in average global temperatures. Every day, the enhanced greenhouse effect continues to advance,
which significantly influences Earth s long term climate. In addition, human activity is also
contributing to the increase of global warmingand is already leading to harmful consequences.
Some people believe that global warming is not occurring and the heating of the globe, is just a
part of the Earth s natural cycle. Several consequences such as, ice caps melting, show us that
global warming is in fact occurring. Therefore, we should start making changes in order to reduce
future damages to the Earth.
The enhanced greenhouse gas effect is one of the many reasons why global warming is occurring.
Heat that is being trapped by the Earth s surface is known as the natural greenhouse effect.
However, throughout the last decades since the Industrial Revolution, the natural greenhouse effect
has been disrupted due to greenhouse gas trapping too much heat in the Earth s atmosphere. The
enhanced greenhouse gas effect is the extra heating of the Earth s atmosphere caused by increased
levels of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, in the atmosphere. According to
Cheryl Jakabs, carbon dioxide levels are now 100 parts per million higher than the beginning of the
1800s. Furthermore, this increase of greenhouse gases may lead to an increase of natural disasters.

Analyse the aims, motives and policies of Cavour between...
Cavour was a very important, if not key player in the reunification of Italy in the 1800s. His role
in Italian unification is widely debated, as are is aims and underlying motives. Many hold
contrasting views as to whether he was an Italian nationalist or merely a Piedmontese expansionist,
and the subject is still a controversial one to this day. The existence of many wide ranging sources
which often challenge each other on the subject does not make the task of determining what drove
Cavour any easier for scholars. It is often agreed, however, that Cavour was a very important
catalyst in the unification of Italy, wittingly or not. In this essay I shall examine Cavour s role in
Italy in the period between 1852 and 1861, and attempt to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is of interest to note that Napoleon III had been a member of the secret Carbonari society in the
Papal States and elsewhere during 1930 1931, which sought to win liberal, constitutional and
national reform. This coupled with the fact that foreign action in support of Italy would also win
him support at home and that his attempted assassination involved him more deeply in Italian
politics, means that Napoleon s support for Cavour was almost guaranteed. It is probable that
Cavour knew this, and thus took full advantage of the fact.
By now it seemed Cavour had earned himself some adversaries as well, however, such as
prominent political figures Giuseppe Mazzini and Pallavicino. An illustration of this rivalry lies in
this extract of a letter Mazzini sent to Cavour in 1856:
Between you and us, sir, an abyss yawns. We represent Italy, you the old, covetous, faint hearted
ambitions of the house of Savoy. We desire above all National Unity. You, territorial aggrandisement
for Piedmont...
This shows that Cavour was already under suspicion from hard line republicans and Italian
nationalists to be supporting Piedmont more than Italy as a whole.
His next actions did not help to improve his image with them, however, as can be seen by the
Plombieres pact of 1858. This was a secret meeting between Napoleon and Cavour in which a deal
was struck: In exchange for

always get high on dopamine when the non religious person would struggle to answer some
questions and I felt lucky that god chose me to be born in a religion specifically the Correct

science person always referred to facts and scientific proof and logic in their argument while the
religious person used their Holy book to back their point of views. Then things started to get more
complicated, in biology, we are taught that human and apes evolved from a common ancestor, while

Life Insurance, Accidental, And Long And Short Term...
Life insurance provides a guarantee of compensation in the case of loss of life in return for a
payment of a premium paid to a company. Life insurance, in different forms, may be offered by
many companies as part of a comprehensive benefits package. It is a significant benefit as it
provides family members with financial assistance and peace of mind in the event of death.
There are several different options for to choose from and deciding what options are best for each
will depend on several factors and the advantages of each option and the goals of each. This paper
will define the different insuranceprograms that may be available in organization s compensation
and benefits package precisely term life insurance, universal, whole life insurance, accidental death
dismemberment, and long and short term disability insurance. It will further outline the advantages
of each.
No one can predict when their death is going to happen and for many this type of conversation may
be one that is uncomfortable. However, when thinking about loved ones left behind it is important
to think about the financial burdens that they may face in one s absence. Therefore, life insurance
should be thought of as income replacement that will be lost due to premature death. The factors an
individual should consider are the expenses required to be maintained such as mortgage, college
education, living expenses and surviving spouse retirement (Failla, 2014). In determining the
options that may be

In 2008 the New Castle Town Council appointed an eleven member Steering Committee made up of
local residents, business interests, and members of the Planning Commission and Town Council to
guide a new vision for the long term growth and development of the community. This effort was in
response to pending growth pressures, for which the community was not fully prepared. After some

Council adopted the Town of New Castle Comprehensive Plan on May 27, 2009.
Prior to the adoption of the Plan, the National and local economies were strong. As a result, New

community growth that, while accommodating new housing, businesses, services, jobs, parks/open
spaces, non motorized access systems, transportation, environmental protection and community
infrastructure, would ensure that growth and change would not adversely the small town character
and community values that residents wanted to preserve.
As the community planning process neared its conclusion, the National economy began to
experience a slow down, which in time became significant. Growth and development in the Roaring
Fork and Colorado River Valleys also were affected. This economic downturn fundamentally
stopped new development activity in New Castle. Moe recently, while the upper valley resort

Canad A Beneficial Thing
Canada in the early stages was not how it was today, especially in the area of multiculturalism.
Multiculturalism in Canada during the 1900 s was rare and not spoken of. In fact, the British
people in Canada were against it. They came up with laws like the Chinese Head Tax , the
Continuous Journey Regulation and residential schools in order to make it hard for foreigners to
come and live in Canada. After awhile, Canada decided to become an independent country and
separated from the British rule . With this change Canada had a different way of seeing immigrants.

Back then, Canada was an extension of the British rule and was ruled by the whites. Britain
being as powerful as they were in the 1900 s, had a vision of Canada being Home away from
home . In other words, the British wanted Canada to be for just the whites. With this mentality
put in their heads the Canadians started to enforce laws to try and keep Canada as white as
possible . One of them was the Chinese Head Tax which was a tax that was put on every Chinese
person that wanted to enter Canada. At the beginning, when the law was first put in place, it
only cost fifty dollars for every Chinese immigrant. However, as time went on the price
multiplied, as it rose to an astonishing five hundred dollars . This was a huge problem for the
Chinese as they did not make a lot of money, they found it very difficult paying for the head taxes.
This resulted in fewer Chinese immigrants coming to Canada, which was what the Canadians and
British wanted to happen. Another law Canada enforced was, the Continuous Journey regulation
which was introduced in the early 1900 s. This law only allowed entry to Asian passengers that
had sailed on a continuous journey from their home land to Canada. Enforcing this law the
government knew that not many Asians would stay on a cramped ship for several months due to
the spread of sicknesses and diseases, so they were satisfied with this law and were still motivated
to keep Canada s immigration levels low. Another act

The Salem Witch Trials And Its Impact On American Society
Did you know that the Salem witch trials resulted in the execution of only twenty people? Most
people believe that hundreds of people were executed during the Salem witch trials, which is often
a very common thought but in actuality only twenty people (mostly women) were executed. The
Salem witch trials was a huge part of American history, they are important to remember because
they are probably a crucial turning point for America, because before the trials religion and
superstition were very important and after the trials happened rational thinking became more and
more important. The Salem witch trials had such an impact on American people that they are still
remembered and talked of in today s society. These trials are still today widely thought of as being
important, because they showed an excellent example of how people hate or fear what they do not

many causes which all could have been prevented if the Puritan government would have taken the

Cursive Writing Persuasive Essay
Why we don t need cursive writing Only seven states in the US teach cursive California, Idaho,

still be taught. First of all there s no time with the busy teachers to teach cursive, only seven states
still teach it, and you really only need it for your signature. To start off, having no prier
knowledge could you grandparents read it what about you kids and in school there s no time for
teachers to teach it with how busy they are with notes and helping and everything that teachers
have to do during schools hours. Teachers are always walking around, either helping students or
going to get something or someone. Teachers have a busy day ahead of them with math, science,
reading, history with all of those there s no time for cursiveanymore. Secondly, only seven states
still teach cursive these day can you believe that only seven out of all 50 states teach cursive. For
one thing students think its to hard to write it so they just end up quitting. Obviously, they end up
never learning there cursive, kids just gave up these days and don t care about there cursive writing.

What Are The Similarities Between The Han And Roman Empire
Thesis Statement
This is about Han and Roman Empire. This argument is saying that the Romans were more
powerful than the Han Empire based on its military system. This will be coming from the Han s
prospective from 206 B.C to 220 B.C. Also talking from the Roman Empire s point of view
from14 C.E to 330 C.E. There will be similarities in this paper but mostly differences because
these are two totally different cultures. The reason for picking the Romans is because the Han s
constantly deployed soldiers year round, even getting soldiers that we not Chinese that lived on
the border. Having the advantage of speed and size the Han s had the advantage of taking over all
of China. The ability of having these advantages of speed and size gives the Han military of taking
over the feudal power structure of other Chinese states.2 But the Roman empire their cavalry would
be arranged in columns which will cover more space. The general will also assign his lightened
armed troops which were javelin throwers, bowman, and slingers in the front. If not placed in the
front the lightened armed troops would actually do more damage to the phalanx than the enemy.
The heavy armed troops would be in the back having the ability to shoot and aim high in the air and
being able to hit the enemy and not the phalanx.1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Income Tax And Tax Rates
Income Tax
As the name implies income tax is a percentage of a person s income but it is not quite as simple as
the percentage changes depending on how much you earn on average in a year (See Figure 1)
ergo if you make more money you pay a larger amount of income tax, however most people get a
Personal Allowance of ВЈ10,000 a year which you don t pay tax on therefore if you don t earn more
than this amount you aren t required to pay any form of income tax. There are certain forms of
income which you don t pay tax for example certain state benefits, interest on savings, rental
income below ВЈ4,250 and premium bonds.

VAT
VAT is a form of tax which is taken from the majority of goods and services, as well as certain

What Is Electromyography Is A Method For Evaluate Levels...
Abstract: Electromyography is a method to evaluate levels of muscular activity. When a muscle
fiber contracts, an action potential is generated and this circulates along the muscular fibers. In
electromyography, electrodes are connected to the skin and the electrical activity of muscles is
measured and graph is plotted. The surface electromyographysignals selected during the muscular
activity are interfaced with a system. The EMG signals from individual suffering from Neuropathy
and healthy individual, so obtained, are processed and analyzed using signal processing techniques.
This project includes the investigation and interpretation of EMG signals of healthy and
Neuropathic individuals using MATLAB. The prospective utilization of this study is in developing
the prosthetic device for the people with Neuropathic disability.
Keywords: EMG, action potential, MATLAB, Neuropathy.

Broken April Analysis
Broken April Final Essay
In Broken April, Ismail Kadare conveys how social expectations and rules can mentally and
physically trap someone in a violent and depressing cycle.
In regards to being physically trapped, a character that conveys this idea is Gjorg. Kadare s
character does this throughout the text, and the conflicts Gjorg faces with his devotion to the
Kanun. In the beginning of the text while Gjorg is in the funeral procession, He is described as
[Feeling] the urge to get out of that absurd situation, to bolt from the funeral cortege . (pg 16).
And later on in that chapter of the text, it states that ...he knew very well that he could never run
away, no more than his grandfather, his great grandfather, his great great grandfather, and all his
ancestors five hundred, a thousands years before him had been able to run away. (pg 16). The
repetition of his ancestors convey a very trapped tone, showing not only that they could not run
away from the funeral, but the kanun itself. Later in the text, when Gjorg is on his way to pay
the blood tax, he thinks about the rules of the Kanun, and says that he could not escape its
definitions (pg 27). Again, the tone is very negative, and Kadare uses the phrase could not escape
to emphasize that no matter how much Gjorg wanted to, he had to obey the rules and definitions
within the Kanun. The last time Gjorg appears in this book is in chapter 7, when his bessa is over
and he is finally murdered. Before he dies, he thinks

Introduction
Microorganism are everywhere, only about 5000 prokaryotic organisms have been identified, that
represents one percent of the existing bacterial (1). Originally the methods of identifying bacterial
were observational, simply looking at the bacteria growing on a plate. Through this method Hans
Christian Gram develop gram staining, while working with tissues he discovered that certain stains
were retained by the bacteria cells. Certain bacteria that retained the color where called Gram
positive, while others that where washed off, were termed Gram negative. The cells walls of Gram
positive microorganisms have a high peptidoglycan content. And therefore retaining the Gram

The Patent Of Patent And Its General Applications
Patent is an exclusive rights that uses to protect intellectual property rights. In recent years, with the
development of electronic technology and the widespread use of electronic platforms, software
patents has become a hot topic that frequently discussed by the public. To a certain extent, the
patent brought many exclusive economic rights to the product inventors; the inventors can get a lot
of additional economic benefits with their product patent, especially in terms of software patent.
However, on the other hand, the negative effects of patents also should not be underestimated, such
as it might obstruct creativity, and it might cause an unnecessary litigation in order to compete the
patent. Compared to the positive effects of the patent, the negative effects of the patent seems to be
more prominent. This essay will discuss the usefulness and the harmfulness of patent from three
parts. In the first part, the essay will briefly discuss the concept of the patent and its general
applications. Then, it will analyze the disadvantages of patent. Finally, the essay will explore the
effective solution for the vicious competition of patent.
DEFINITION AND EXAMPLE
The patent is a very fuzzy concept. In general, it can be understood as an exclusive economic rights;
the inventors obtain substantial economic benefits from their invention patent. However, more
people would think of patents as a part of intellectual property; they would think of patents as an
important mean of

Judicial Elections In The United States
Judicial Elections in the United States
While the majority of the nations in the world uses a meritocratic system of appointment of judges
by an executive body, the US and Bolivia are the only two modern day democracies to elect
majority of their judges. 38 states in the US choose their high court judges through some form of
election1. The candidates running for judicial offices in the United States either explicitly declare
their political affiliations or are endorsed by a political party without having their party named on
the ballot. Although this ensures that the judge thus elected is accountable to the people and not the
person who appoints him, the election process is unduly politicized and the judge is influenced by
his campaign contributors which often leads to biased judgement. Is the election of judges

Alabama has partisan judicial election i.e. the judicial candidates declare their political affiliations
before election and even after winning for a position they have to maintain public support to retain
their seats. Because of this, as mentioned by Bryan Stevenson in his book Just Mercy , judges in
Alabama frequently override jury recommendations into more severe punishment so as to appear
hard on crime and gather public support for their next election. These severe implications of
judicial elections render this issue an unparalleled significance because of which I have chosen to

So as the operation manger in Kingslice it is really important to concentrate on productivity and
profitability. So as the operation manager I have to look at Quality, Efficiency and Effectiveness
issues in the company.
Quality Standard: As it is expected to produce various kinds of breads to meet customers needs it is
very necessary to maintain standard quality in products.
Eg: Wholemeal bread, White bread, Gluten free bread. To ensure quality, the right ingredients must
be bought at a reasonable price to be competitive among the rivals. So the Economic Order
Quantity model will be an effective tool in this case.
Efficiency Standard:
Should reduce wastage and need to produce the right amount of breads according to sales. It is
very important that all the equipments need to be up to date according to new technology bakers
should be well trained.
Effectiveness Standard:
This will help Kingslice to generate more profit and will attract more investors in to the
organization. So having skilful staffs and proper equipment will help to lift up the effectiveness in

Analysis Of Queen Gertrude
People are rarely who you think they are, but you are typically not as far off as Queen Gertrude.
In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Queen Gertrude marries her husbands brother when
her husband dies. As if this was not weird enough, The late king s brother Claudius, whom she
marries also happens to be the one who killed her husband. Now he son Hamletis enraged that she
has married so soon after the death of her husband, and then the ghostof his father appears to tell
him the truth, From the ghost Hamlet learns that Claudius killed King Hamlet and took his crown
and queen, but the play never says how informed Gertrudewas. However, throughout the play there
are many pieces of evidence that prove that Queen Gertrude did not know about the murder of
King Hamlet. An easy way to tell that Queen Gertrude is innocent is that the ghost of King
Hamlet told Hamlet not to get revenge on her. When the ghost first appears to Hamlet he
explains to him that he was murdered by his own brother, and that he wants vengeance.
However, the ghost makes it clear that the only revenge he wants is on Claudius, and even
specifies that Hamlet is to leave his mother alone by saying Taint not thy mind, nor let thy soul
contrive/ Against thy mother aught. Leave her to heaven. By saying this the ghost is making
sure that Hamlet knows that he doesn t want revenge on his mother for marrying this murderous
man. Instead he simply wants revenge on the one who was responsible, so if Gertrude had been
involved he would have wanted revenge on her as well. Since the ghost specifies to leave
Gertrude alone, it can be inferred that she did not know that the death of King Hamlet was a
murder, or who was responsible. Another way to tell that Gertrude is clueless about the murder
of King Hamlet is her response to mentions of it. While Gertrude and Hamlet are arguing in her
room, Hamlet makes remarks about what has happened and she seems genuinely confused and
shocked. For example when she says how horrible of a thing it was for Hamlet to kill Polonius and
he asks if it is as bad as killing a king, to which she responds As kill a king? (III.IV.31) If she had
known about the murder she would have tried to defend it or protect herself.

William Blake Literary Analysis
What is now proved was once only imagined.
(Ed. Mason, Michael. William Blake: Selected Poetry. Oxford World Classics, 2008.)
This paper started with a quote which mainly emphasize on the power of imagination. The line
which is quoted above, said by one of the early romantic poet, one who never went to university,
never took opium, did not end up his life in a very tender age, never left England, did not went on
any Grand tour in his life span, did not have any illicit or failed affairs or relationships, had no one
who would call him father and unfortunately never got the fame during his own lifetime. He is the
one, who shine out like a star whenever one talks about Mysticism and Imagination in English
Literature, William Blake. What he says about Imagination is
The Imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself.
(Damon, Samuel Foster. Ed. Eaves Morris. A Blake Dictionary: The Ideas and Symbol Of William
Blake. UPNE, 1988.)
After reading his thoughts about imagination and the power of imagination one could able to
recognize that he believes in the imaginary world around him. He talks about angels and God like
figures which could be seen by him only, which proves him as true mystic.
After knowing the fact that he was a mystic, the next questions which struck the minds is what is
Mysticism? What is so fascinating in mysticism which makes him a mystic?
Here is the answer, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Mysticism is a Belief that union
with or absorption into the deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge
inaccessible to the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self surrender . It also
comes with another definition which says, Vague or ill defined religious or spiritual belief,
especially a belief in the occult . So, basically it is somehow related to the kind of religious beliefs
a person have. Actually, Blake was a non conformist. Non conformism refers in history to religious
groups that had alienated from the Church of England in the course of the seventeenth and
eighteenth centuries. Such people had groups like Baptists, Methodists, Puritans, Quakers and
Unitarians. Few researchers believe that his parents were Swedenborgians or readers

My Writing Of A College Level Writing Course
At the beginning of the term, I came into this class not feeling very confident about my writing. I
had taken writing classes in the past, but none to the extent of a college level writing course. One
of the skills that I found I lacked the most was my vocabulary. While my writing structure was
often not a problem my writingdid not sound as sophisticated as it could be. I occasionally used a
thesaurus but this would often cause problems as sometimes the words would not quite agree
with the meaning of my sentence. Throughout the term the one thing that helped me the most
with this problem were the workshops. As my peers corrected my paper they helped me to come
up with more intelligent words to get my point across to the reader. I believe that without the
inclusion of these workshops my essays would not have been as cleanly written. For upcoming
classes one aspect of writing that I would like to focus on is my ability to stay on topic. A lot of
the time I tend to become so engulfed in one reasoning for my argument that my mind begins to
wander elsewhere. Ultimately my essaystructure will suffer because of this, so in order to stay
more focused I want to start making outlines before I write out my essays. With an outline it will
be easier for me to stay on topic since I will have a structure to follow. Also by having an outline I
can find my quotes and compose my topic sentences ahead of time, making it easier for me to see if
my ideas will fit well together. This will also

The Mortality Rate Of Humans
People recognize that death is the terminal point in the life of a physical body. In a moment, a

Whether it s heaven or hell, one s soul may be judged or evaluated on where they will arrive in the

What survives after the death of the body? Prominent world religions view this part of afterlife
differently. For example, Christianity has dualistic conceptions. A non physical soul that separates
the body at death, but there are also contrasting views. For instance, many Christians believe that a
spiritual body resurrects after death. It can be physical and three dimensional. However, but that
spiritual body is distinct from a person s current physical body. Now, Buddhists do not believe that
a body contains a soul. However, they do believe a person s karma survives death, prior sensations,

The influence of Greek mythology does not stop here, it continues into the stars and galaxies many

However, Greek mythologies role in western society is not limited to our science, as it has also
played a huge part in developing the English language and phrases that we use.
There are two ways in which Greek mythology has affected the English language and that is in
words that reference Greek mythology and through phrases that represent the actions of characters
in Greek mythology.
Words such as an aphrodisiac something that arouses or intensifies sexual desire, stems from the

It was estimated in 1887 that Tiffany s vaults held $40 million in precious stones. Among these
was the largest flawless and perfectly colored canary diamond ever mined. This 128.5 carat
Tiffany Diamond, still held by the New York store, has been valued by the company at $22 million.
In 1894 a factory was established in New Jersey in Forest Hill, which was later annexed by
Newark, for the manufacture of silverware, stationery, and leather goods. Charles Tiffany died in
1902, leaving an estate estimated at $35 million. He was the only Tiffany to run the company. Louis
Comfort Tiffany, his eldest son to survive childhood, was an accomplished artist who sometimes
made jewelry for Tiffany but was best known for his Art Nouveau stained glass windows and
lamps. In 1905 the store had moved into quarters at Fifth Avenue and 37th Street designed by
Stanford White in the form of a Venetian palazzo, and two years later John C. Moore, great
grandson of the silversmith, became president.
Tiffany s sales volume rose from $7 million in 1914 to $17.7 million in 1919. This figure was
seldom if ever matched during the 1920s, but profits remained high and dividends rose steadily. A
share of stock bought in 1913 for $600 was worth the same in 1929, but split five for one in 1920

Pre War Imperialism
Nationalism, as defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, is a sense of national consciousness
exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture
and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups. The publication of
patriotic news reports that would praise a country s leading military strength while belittling
other countries fueled this strong sentiment in pre war Europe. Provocative stories about a
country s rivals would be released to the public and although they were sometimes fabricated,
these stories were widely believed by the sheltered populace of pre war Europe. Using nationalism
as fuel for war, bellicose leaders could carry out their desire for war much more... Show more

Evidently, this came as a shock to the French population because, in the last century, Napoleon I
and Napoleon III had both came close to dominating the entirety of Europe. A loss against the
Prussian nation was a devastating blow to French nationalism and imperialism. Furthermore, in
the Treaty of Frankfurt, the nation of Prussia forced France to recognize the unified German
Empire with Wilhelm I of Prussia as its leader. This not only gave rise to an increased imperialism
and nationalism in the German Empire but also brought about an intense obsession in the form of
revanchism for the reconquest of the provinces lost in the Franco Prussian war. This revanchism
would become one of France s most influential reasons for French participation in the First World
War against the German Empire. Nationalism in France before the First World War revolved
around a hatred for the Germans due to their apparent aggressive expansion into French land. The
French people had an intense want to recover the prestige that they had lost at the end of the Franco
Prussian war and further wanted the resurgence of France as a top world power. Frankly, French
nationalism helped the French populace jump willingly into war with the Germans, which greatly
influenced the beginning of the

Guided Meditation Script
When you re looking to use a guided meditation script, there are a few things you can use to really
give it an edge. It doesn t have to be much, but a few minutes of extra effort can make a huge
difference in effectiveness.
Let s step back for a moment, and remember that the idea is to get the recipient (or meditator) to
focus on the meditation, not anything and everything else. By providing a good environment, you
not only prevent distractions, but you can actually enhance and reinforce the effectiveness of your
guided meditation script.
Let s start with music. While working with the meditation in silence can work, I find that it tends
to work better with some gentle music in the background. I have a few rules I use when I m

Make sure that the room is not to hot or cold, and you might consider putting a scent in the air.
There s a lot of different ways to go for adding a scent in the air. You can go with sprays, candles,
heated essential oil, incense, or any combination of the above tin order to get the desired effect. As
with the sound background, I have a few guidelines to offer here:
Make sure that it is pleasant and accessible. Those of us who are used to incense can handle
more exotic scents, but you want the focus to be determined by what s in your guided meditation
script, not by watering eyes and coughing. On the same note, don t overdo it. A little goes a long
way. Avoid artificial scents. It may be less expensive, but quite often the scent just winds up being
cloying instead of relaxing. Again, we want to focus the attention inward. Match the type of scent
with the individual. If they react to incense (and some people do), use candles or heat up some
essential oils instead.
When you bring all of these together, the person meditating is almost instantly relaxed, and your
guided meditation script is that much more effective. There is a bit of an art to this, so keep
testing and see what works best for

Darden Restaurant Financial Analysis
Executive Summary
Darden Restaurants, Inc. has been a public company since 1995. A company born of the chain
Red Lobster, Darden is a recent spin off as a result of mergers and acquisitions of various types.
Publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange, Darden (DRI) is the parent company of Red
Lobster, The Olive Garden, the now defunct China Coast concept, and a new Floribbean concept:
Bahama Breezes.
Throughout its existence, as a part of General Mills, Pillsbury, or on its own as DRI, Darden has
made waves throughout the restaurant industry. The thought processes behind the introduction of a
concept are considered revolutionary, as exemplified by the strategy behind The Olive Garden and
Bahama Breezes.

(DRI). With Bill Darden serving as CEO, DRI operates three divisions The Olive Garden, Red
Lobster, and Bahama Breezes, a recent creation, a calypso themed restaurant.
Currently, Red Lobster is the largest full service restaurant chain and the largest seafood
company in North America. The company s 680 units are company owned and operated. Of
those 680 units, 646 are spread throughout every state (including the District of Columbia) but
Alaska, and 34 are operated in Canada. Sales for fiscal year 1998 totaled nearly $2 billion. The
Olive Garden currently operates 459 units in the United States, and 5 units in Canada. Gross sales
for The Olive Garden totaled over $1 billion. Gross sales for all divisions of Darden Restaurants
exceeded 3.2 billion dollars! Darden s net earnings in fiscal year 1998 were just over 101 million
dollars, with shareholders receiving an eight cent dividend.
There are two possible sources of discrepancies we would like to disclose in this introduction:
financial histories and restructuring charges. The first source of some discrepancies throughout
the paper is a lack of some financial history. In the 1998 Darden Restaurants Annual Report, there
was some inconsistency in whether history from FY 1996 was used or not. For this reason, we
have been forced to omit FY 1996 in some

The Use Of Sea Aircraft Of The United States Winning World...
Ever since the first time Eugene Burton Ely completed the very first take off and landing from a
warship on the 18th of January, 1911, the future of the Navy had drastically changed. Little did
Ely know that in a mere fifty years Naval Aviation would have a major contribution to the United
States winning World War II. Captain Charles F. Pond exclaimed that Ely s feat was the most
important landing of a bird since the dove flew back to the ark. This quote by Captain Pond
shows just how important naval aviation was going to be in the future along with the Navy s
need for vessel s to carry these planes. The modern aircraft carriers of the Navy that we know now
were vastly different from the warships with wooden flight decks like on the USS... Show more

This flight planted the importance of air power in the minds of naval thinkers, including Admiral
Bradley A. Fiske whom started looking for ways to make naval aircraft fighting machines. In the
start of World War I no nation had imagined a ship to where planed could land and take off from,
such as an aircraft carrier. The Naval Act of 1916 provided $500 million for items such as
battleships, battle cruisers, and submarines. There had been not one mention of funding naval air.
However many advancements came during World War I that would affect not just the United States
Navy, but the rest of the world for multiple generations to come. Great was leading the charge
with having produced two functioning aircraft carriers by 1918. There was no other nation that
had even produced one yet. However Japan was the first to build a aircraft carrier from the keel
up, meaning that it was not a converted battleships like the previous aircraft carriers. Naval air
power built up to 160,000 officers and men, as well as 500 aircraft and 26 naval stations as
World War I brought the United States Navy s 1st Aeronautical Detachment to Europe. Brigadier
General Billy Mitchell, the chief of the United States Army Air Service, gave naval aviation a
boost after conducting several tactics for bombing ships. One of his major beliefs was that air
power would one day shadow over the importance of gunships. In 1921 General

Murder and Marriage in William Shakespeare s Hamlett
Imagine the scenario where a man murders his brother and then marries his brother s wife. In
William Shakespeare s play Hamlet, this is Hamlet s reality. Hamlet s uncle, Claudius, killed his
father, Old Hamlet, the king of Denmark, and then his mother, Gertrude, and uncle got married
approximately two months later. The effects of these morbid events are substantial on the young
prince s psyche. Later, the ghost of Old Hamletappears to Hamlet and commands him to exact
vengeance for what Claudius has done and murderthe new king. This makes Hamlet desperate for
revenge, so intermittently, Hamlet soliloquizes his current state of mind and his plans of revenge
to the audience. Hamlet s attitude of revenge progresses throughout the play from analytical and
indecisive to rash and bloodthirsty because of an increased need to avenge his father s death
before he no longer is able to kill Claudius.
After having an inimical conversation with Gertrude and Claudius, in the opening scene of the
play, Hamlet is in ruins, grief stricken, and despairing; the only killing he wants to execute is of
himself. Hamlet is in Hell; his mother and uncle s o erhasty marriage (Shakespeare II, ii, 57) has
presided before Hamlet has stopped mourning his father s unexplained and unexpected death. He
cries out for death, wishing that the Everlasting had not fixed his canon gainst self slaughter! O
God, God! (Shakespeare I, ii, 131 132), yet he know that he must continue to live miserably, in this

Fidel Castro Research Paper
In attempt to push Cuban nationalist Fidel Castro out of power, in April of 1961 the Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA) launched full scale invasion of the BahГa de Cochinos in Cuba that was
unfortunately not a success and failed miserably within 24 hours. After two years of trying to
remove Castro from his political position America was very optimistic about this final strike.
However, between being outnumbered by Castro s troops and almost immediately surrendering the
invasion was not effective. In 1959, Fidel Castrocame into power by overthrowing Cuban dictator
Fulgencio Batista and from that moment on the United States was very skeptical about him. They
felt this way because they were very much aware of Castro s relationship with the leader... Show

The CIA initiated the training process by setting up training camps in Guatemala and trained
counter revolutionary Cubans serving as the armed wing of the Democratic Revolutionary Front,
known as Brigade 2506 (The Bay of Pigs Invasion and its Aftermath). Soon, by November the
United States had prepared a small army to perform assault landing and guerilla warfare. If the
invasion turned out to be a success a former member of Castro s government, JosГ© MirГі
Cardona, was going to take the presidential position of Cuba. However, the plan was already in
trouble by October of 1960 when Castro found out about the guerilla training camps that were based
in Guatemala. Once John F. Kennedy became president, one of his first decisions in office was
authorizing the plan in February of 1961. Although Castro was aware of the United States
intentions, President Kennedy still put in effort to keep the U.S. support disguised. One of the
ways he attempted to do this was by assigning The Bay of Pigs as the landing point. The site was
a remote swampy area on the southern coast of Cuba, where a night landing might bring a force
ashore against little resistance and help to hide any United States involvement (The Bay of
Pigs). The down side to this was that the Bay of Pigs was 80 miles from refuge in Cuba s
Escambray Mountains, giving us an excessive distance which would be a problem if we were

Agatha Christie s And Then There Were None
People have always said not to judge a book by its cover. Well disregard that because in order to
analyse a book cover, you have to judge it. The book And Then There Were None written by Agatha
Christie has many book jackets, some enticing and some not, but there is one in particular that
stands out. This book coverhas a good appearance that hints certain occurrences, it has the ability
to be alluring as well has having good font, but despite these great qualities, it does have a flaw or
two.
The first few good factors of this book cover is its representation and subtle giveaways. At first
glance, it is obvious that there are ten figures, however those who have not read the book yet
would not have been able to tell that they are soldier ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First thing is the writing and the fact that Agatha Christie s name is not written on it. How is
someone supposed to know who the book is by if it is not written on the book. Besides the title,
having the author s name is one of the most important elements of the book jacket. Along with
that fault, there is the fact that, in spite of all the good features of the cover, there is no alluring
colors, it is just red and black. Maybe, if you re someone who likes dark stories and murder
mysteries then it ll allure you, but in order to appeal to everyone, there needs to be more than
just a black background with red China figures and blood. Also, the writing isn t so appealing, it
looks like it was scratched on. The writing could work for a horror story, but not a murder
mystery. Maybe going through those series of events was painful and terrifying for the characters,
but for the readers it is something that makes you want to keep reading. It keeps people hooked,
but in no way is the story frightening, if anything it is interesting. Nevertheless, these flaws do not
stop this book from being a good read.
Sometimes it is best to judge a book by its cover, because it can tell you a lot about the book. The
novel And Then There Were None written by Agatha Christie has had a lot of book jackets, and one
in particular stands out. The cover has an attractive appearance, captivating

Of all the effects and product development, ignorance is one of the most pervasive. Often the

The Anglo Saxon Era Of Rich History And Reflected Literature
The Anglo Saxon Era of Rich History and Reflected Literature
The Anglo Saxon Period began in 449 and ended in 1066 AD. This was a time of Viking
conquering other nations, patriotism, and Pagan to Christian religious conversion. There are only
few recorded authors of this era as a result of literary works such as Beowulf, Wife s Lament, and
The Seafarer being passed down orally through generations of time. The literature serves as a
reflection of this ancient time rather than having an impact on this time period. This was a period
of great conquering, pride and honor, and Christian expansion with recorded literature that
exaggerated and symbolized what was occurring.
This time remains the darkest, the least documented in British history ... Show more content on

The religious transformation was a slow but progressive growth. It is definitely certain that the
characters of these oral stories were exaggerated or even make believe and as a matter of fact
after much studies of the Roman Empire, there has even been controversy over King Arthur s
existence. (Wood 39) The question is, what happened in Britain after the fall of the Roman
Empire? Bound up with that, there is a second question: did there exist at this time a war leader
called Arthur? (Wood, 39). This shows that not only were the obviously exaggerated heroic
characters fake but also some of the seemingly realistic characters were as well. This indicates
that these stories were definitely exaggerated for entertainment purposes, but at the same time,
used to describe the battles, the honor and events that happened at this time. There are three main
literary works of this time period: Beowulf, Wife s Lament, and The Seafarer. Each literary work
has unique symbolism and can be analyzed and interpreted to show what they represent. Beowulf
highly focuses on battling, one having honor for their kingdom, and even has some religious
representation. Beowulf is an epic poem, which is defined as a long, narrative poem about a
larger than life, legendary character in pursuit of a goal of national importance. Also, Beowulf s
character is classified as an epic hero, which is defined as one who constitutes superior strength and
excellent ethics, one who does many valorous

The National Science Foundation ( Nsf )
The National Science Foundation (NSF) leads a $280 million initiative enabling researchers to
recreate the most destructive natural forces on Earth by shaking and rocking full sized structures.
[1] In one experiment, Professor Tara Hutchinson tests steel beam resilience on the apparatus, on
San Diego s outer limits. The earthquakemachine utilizes strain gauges and accelerometers
numbering in the hundreds to record the many forces that artificially induced seismic activity
places on the structure.
New building codes and retrofitting practices have emerged due to the successes achieved at the
NSF research site. As a result, $65 million will go toward similar research equipment facilities over
the next five years.
As for Hutchinson s experiment, she discovered structural weaknesses during pretest trials that
exerted little force on the test subject. The implication was that small earthquakes might weaken
buildings before large events occur without leaving external clues.
Learning From the Past
Researchers, such as Professor Hutchinson, establish new safety standards and construction
practices using empirical evidence. [2] Early natural hazard mitigation projects included massive,
expensive and untested hazard deterrents, such as levees and floodgates. After a natural disaster in
the 1960 s, engineers discovered that the structures damaged the natural, protective landscape and
offered insufficient hazard protection. Resultantly, engineers develop mitigation plans

What Is The Assassination Of Gandhi Unjust
Mohandas Gandhi was an influential leader for India s independence, whose acts to gain Indian
rights, led to him getting assassinated by Hindus that were against his ideas and motives. As
Gandhi moved to South Africa to study law, he experienced racism and South African laws that
restricted the rights of Indian laborers. He was removed from a first class railway compartment
and thrown off of a train. This was the moment of truth that made Gandhi decide to defend his
rights as an Indian man and fight injustice. Gandhi formed the Natal Indian Congress (NIC), which
drew attention world wide to the struggle Indians were facing in India. That was just the first of
many steps Gandhi took in his fight to gain Indian rights and independence from Great Britain.
Although thousands of people supported Gandhi s ideas and actions, certain groups of Hindus and
Muslims felt differently about the whole matter. They wanted to kill Gandhi for what he was doing;
and on January 30th, 1948, Mohandas Gandhi was assassinated by a Hindu fanatic named
Nathuram Godse. The assassination of Mohandas Gandhi was unjust, because he was a political
and spiritual leader of the Indian independence movement, who acted to gain independence from
Britain; however, others disagreed with his actions to gain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Alan Kingston s No Name Woman
No Name Woman begins with You must not tell anyone, a powerful statement leading into the
story of an aunt the narrator s family has erased the existence of. This short story provides the
readers with a better understanding of traditional Chinese culture and the role of women in their
society. Throughout the story, the narrator provides the reader with information about Chinese
culture and the role women play in it. This first sentence reveals the secretive nature of Chinese
society. The narrator s mother starts and ends a short retelling of her aunt s story with reminders
to keep it a secret. While the narrator never explicitly states this, it is also clear that China has a
strong patriarchy. When talking about marriage, the narrator says that a synonym for marriage in
Chinese is taking a daughter in law (Kingston, 5). Furthermore, she goes on to speculate whether
the fate of her aunt and baby would have been different if the baby was a boy.... Show more content

  • 2. Parents Keep Child s Gender Secret By Jayme Poisson In Parents Keep Child s Gender Secret, Jayme Poisson describes how one family choses to raise their child genderless. They are also keeping the child s sex a secret, although it is not clear if they are trying to allow the child to define its sex. Gender and sex are two different distinctions that are often mistakenly seen as the same thing. Society places genderexpectations based on sex, so it s easy to see why they are looked at as the same thing. It s important to remember that gender represents a choice, while sex is determined before you are born. The option of choosing is important when considering the ethics of raising a child. It s why I believe that it is ethical to allow a child to define their gender and unethical to allow a child to define their sex. There are three common arguments against allowing a child to define their gender. The first common argument is that the child will bullied and may not be mature enough to handle it. Unfortunately, children can be bullied for a number of reasons regardless of their gender. Parents do not allow bullying to affect other decisions and they should not allow bullying to interfere with who their child wants to be either. It is he one doing the bullying that has a problem, not their child. The second common argument against allowing a child to define their gender is that friends and family will disapprove. However, there is always someone who will disapprove of any decision you make. Voting, eating meat, sexual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Previously, Achilles had remained out of the war due to complications with Agamemnon, but that all changed with Patroclus s murder. Achilles set his problems aside so he could create justice in his mind. Achilles found out about his friend s death from Antilochus. He realized that he could only console himself by killing Hector, the man who killed Patroclus. Achilles was greatly troubled when Patroclus was slain by Hector. • 5. Teaching And Classroom Management Styles When I took the surveys, I surprised to see how even keeled my teaching and classroom management styles were. Before student teaching, I had a general idea of what my ideal teaching style and classroom management techniques would look like. However, I have realized that a combination of several teaching styles may be beneficial for students because each studenthas particular needs for the classroom. According to the teaching style inventory, I can be described as a facilitator first and foremost, followed by a formal authorityfigure, personal model, and delegator. According to Grasha, a facilitator can be described as a teacher who enhances the personal nature of student teacher interactions (143). Facilitators are often guiding entities for students because they encourage independent work (Grasha 143). In my teaching, I have always thought that student independence is the ultimate goal. I do not wantto be the sole source of knowledge in the classroom. Every student has something important to say. In addition to my focus on individual needs, I still possess qualities of a more traditional classroom teacher. I agree with part of Grasha s analysis of a formal authority figure; formal authority figures are concerned with establishing learning goals, expectations, and rules of conduct for students (143). Students need some consistency and expectations for how to operate in a classroom environment. If this is not provided, there will be chaos. My teaching style includes ... When Buddy Willard comes to visit in chapter five, they talk about a poem, however, Esther is day dreaming about an imaginary conversation she wishes the would have. Throughout the novel, Esther struggled with what she felt how a woman in her society should act. At times, she feels as if there is no point to college because most women only become secretaries anyway. She feels as if she should be learning short hand and other techniques she should be learning for the secretary roll, however she does not want to. Esther wants to be a writer, however, during the time of the novel, society gave women the role as housewife. Esther felt pressure to settle down and start a family. No matter what accomplishments Esther achieves in her life, it doesn t matter too much because they will not do her much in her later life. Everyone expects Esther to marry buddy and start a family. • 8. Research Paper On Horse The horse (Equus ferus caballus)[2][3] is one of two extant subspecies of Equus ferus. It is an odd toed ungulate mammal belonging to the taxonomic family Equidae. The horse has evolved over the past 45 to 55 million years from a small multi toed creature, Eohippus, into the large, single toed animal of today. Humans began to domesticate horses around 4000 BC, and their domestication is believed to have been widespread by 3000 BC. Horses in the subspecies caballus are domesticated, although some domesticated populations live in the wild as feral horses. These feral populations are not true wild horses, as this term is used to describe horses that have never been domesticated, such as the endangered Przewalski s horse, a separate subspecies, and the only remaining true wild horse. There is an extensive, specialized vocabulary used to describe equine related concepts, covering everything from anatomy to life stages, size, colors, markings, breeds, locomotion, and behavior. Horses anatomy enables them to make use of speed to escape predators and they have a well developed sense of balance and a strong fight or flight response. Related to this need to flee from predators in the wild is an unusual trait: horses are able to sleep both standing up and lying down. Female horses, called mares, carry their young for ... Advertisers found that possibility as an opportunity to shine and they had created many different works that promote their products. However, it is possible to stop on one commercial, which is called Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Rafael Nadal, which is the commercial by Nike, to understand the way they appeal to the audience. First of all, like any other piece of art, the narrator creates the specific theme that addresses the human eye. That theme provokes a specific response in human mind, and their thinking provokes the profit if the advertiser was successful. However, the ethos of the current commercial is obvious Nike Company is one of the leading industries that deliver sports equipment. Nike represents one of the main players in the sports equipment market. They create rules, and they create trends. Their credibility is outstanding due to the fact that they are constantly doing different market examinations that concentrate on trend analysis. That is their profit that is why their researches show them evident details about marketing trends and they have enough money to adjust. Speaking of the logos of the article, it is important to mention that this commercial used the paradox as the rhetorical device so that it is complex to talk about the logical flow of arguments that they present. • 10. Climate Change Is An Important Issue That Concerns Humanity Climate change is an important issue that concerns humanity. Climate change refers to an increase in average global temperatures. Every day, the enhanced greenhouse effect continues to advance, which significantly influences Earth s long term climate. In addition, human activity is also contributing to the increase of global warmingand is already leading to harmful consequences. Some people believe that global warming is not occurring and the heating of the globe, is just a part of the Earth s natural cycle. Several consequences such as, ice caps melting, show us that global warming is in fact occurring. Therefore, we should start making changes in order to reduce future damages to the Earth. The enhanced greenhouse gas effect is one of the many reasons why global warming is occurring. Heat that is being trapped by the Earth s surface is known as the natural greenhouse effect. However, throughout the last decades since the Industrial Revolution, the natural greenhouse effect has been disrupted due to greenhouse gas trapping too much heat in the Earth s atmosphere. The enhanced greenhouse gas effect is the extra heating of the Earth s atmosphere caused by increased levels of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, in the atmosphere. According to Cheryl Jakabs, carbon dioxide levels are now 100 parts per million higher than the beginning of the 1800s. Furthermore, this increase of greenhouse gases may lead to an increase of natural disasters. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Analyse the aims, motives and policies of Cavour between... Cavour was a very important, if not key player in the reunification of Italy in the 1800s. His role in Italian unification is widely debated, as are is aims and underlying motives. Many hold contrasting views as to whether he was an Italian nationalist or merely a Piedmontese expansionist, and the subject is still a controversial one to this day. The existence of many wide ranging sources which often challenge each other on the subject does not make the task of determining what drove Cavour any easier for scholars. It is often agreed, however, that Cavour was a very important catalyst in the unification of Italy, wittingly or not. In this essay I shall examine Cavour s role in Italy in the period between 1852 and 1861, and attempt to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is of interest to note that Napoleon III had been a member of the secret Carbonari society in the Papal States and elsewhere during 1930 1931, which sought to win liberal, constitutional and national reform. This coupled with the fact that foreign action in support of Italy would also win him support at home and that his attempted assassination involved him more deeply in Italian politics, means that Napoleon s support for Cavour was almost guaranteed. It is probable that Cavour knew this, and thus took full advantage of the fact. By now it seemed Cavour had earned himself some adversaries as well, however, such as prominent political figures Giuseppe Mazzini and Pallavicino. An illustration of this rivalry lies in this extract of a letter Mazzini sent to Cavour in 1856: Between you and us, sir, an abyss yawns. We represent Italy, you the old, covetous, faint hearted ambitions of the house of Savoy. We desire above all National Unity. You, territorial aggrandisement for Piedmont... This shows that Cavour was already under suspicion from hard line republicans and Italian nationalists to be supporting Piedmont more than Italy as a whole. His next actions did not help to improve his image with them, however, as can be seen by the Plombieres pact of 1858. This was a secret meeting between Napoleon and Cavour in which a deal was struck: In exchange for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would always get high on dopamine when the non religious person would struggle to answer some questions and I felt lucky that god chose me to be born in a religion specifically the Correct religion. However, the more I continued to watch these debates, the more I noticed that the pro science person always referred to facts and scientific proof and logic in their argument while the religious person used their Holy book to back their point of views. Life insurance, in different forms, may be offered by many companies as part of a comprehensive benefits package. It is a significant benefit as it provides family members with financial assistance and peace of mind in the event of death. There are several different options for to choose from and deciding what options are best for each will depend on several factors and the advantages of each option and the goals of each. This paper will define the different insuranceprograms that may be available in organization s compensation and benefits package precisely term life insurance, universal, whole life insurance, accidental death dismemberment, and long and short term disability insurance. It will further outline the advantages of each. No one can predict when their death is going to happen and for many this type of conversation may be one that is uncomfortable. However, when thinking about loved ones left behind it is important to think about the financial burdens that they may face in one s absence. Therefore, life insurance should be thought of as income replacement that will be lost due to premature death. The factors an individual should consider are the expenses required to be maintained such as mortgage, college education, living expenses and surviving spouse retirement (Failla, 2014). The New Castle Town Council In 2008 the New Castle Town Council appointed an eleven member Steering Committee made up of local residents, business interests, and members of the Planning Commission and Town Council to guide a new vision for the long term growth and development of the community. This effort was in response to pending growth pressures, for which the community was not fully prepared. After some months and considerable community input, the Planning Commission recommended and the Town Council adopted the Town of New Castle Comprehensive Plan on May 27, 2009. Prior to the adoption of the Plan, the National and local economies were strong. As a result, New Castle had begun to experience significant change. The intent of the Plan was to establish a path for community growth that, while accommodating new housing, businesses, services, jobs, parks/open spaces, non motorized access systems, transportation, environmental protection and community infrastructure, would ensure that growth and change would not adversely the small town character and community values that residents wanted to preserve. As the community planning process neared its conclusion, the National economy began to experience a slow down, which in time became significant. Growth and development in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys also were affected. This economic downturn fundamentally stopped new development activity in New Castle. Multiculturalism in Canada during the 1900 s was rare and not spoken of. In fact, the British people in Canada were against it. They came up with laws like the Chinese Head Tax , the Continuous Journey Regulation and residential schools in order to make it hard for foreigners to come and live in Canada. After awhile, Canada decided to become an independent country and separated from the British rule . With this change Canada had a different way of seeing immigrants. Britain being as powerful as they were in the 1900 s, had a vision of Canada being Home away from home . In other words, the British wanted Canada to be for just the whites. With this mentality put in their heads the Canadians started to enforce laws to try and keep Canada as white as possible . One of them was the Chinese Head Tax which was a tax that was put on every Chinese person that wanted to enter Canada. At the beginning, when the law was first put in place, it only cost fifty dollars for every Chinese immigrant. However, as time went on the price multiplied, as it rose to an astonishing five hundred dollars . This was a huge problem for the Chinese as they did not make a lot of money, they found it very difficult paying for the head taxes. This resulted in fewer Chinese immigrants coming to Canada, which was what the Canadians and British wanted to happen. Another law Canada enforced was, the Continuous Journey regulation which was introduced in the early 1900 s. This law only allowed entry to Asian passengers that had sailed on a continuous journey from their home land to Canada. Enforcing this law the government knew that not many Asians would stay on a cramped ship for several months due to the spread of sicknesses and diseases, so they were satisfied with this law and were still motivated to keep Canada s immigration levels low. Most people believe that hundreds of people were executed during the Salem witch trials, which is often a very common thought but in actuality only twenty people (mostly women) were executed. The Salem witch trials was a huge part of American history, they are important to remember because they are probably a crucial turning point for America, because before the trials religion and superstition were very important and after the trials happened rational thinking became more and more important. The Salem witch trials had such an impact on American people that they are still remembered and talked of in today s society. These trials are still today widely thought of as being important, because they showed an excellent example of how people hate or fear what they do not understand, which is still a behavior that is seen in present society. The Salem Witch Trials had many causes which all could have been prevented if the Puritan government would have taken the time to investigate the accusations of the alleged crimes being committed. The Salem witch trials provide many interesting aspects to discuss such as, the historical information on the Salem witch trials, how the Puritan government could have prevented this by not accepting spectral evidence, and why the puritan government was so willing to accept the accusations being made. • 22. What Are The Similarities Between The Han And Roman Empire Thesis Statement This is about Han and Roman Empire. This argument is saying that the Romans were more powerful than the Han Empire based on its military system. This will be coming from the Han s prospective from 206 B.C to 220 B.C. Also talking from the Roman Empire s point of view from14 C.E to 330 C.E. There will be similarities in this paper but mostly differences because these are two totally different cultures. The reason for picking the Romans is because the Han s constantly deployed soldiers year round, even getting soldiers that we not Chinese that lived on the border. Having the advantage of speed and size the Han s had the advantage of taking over all of China. The ability of having these advantages of speed and size gives the Han military of taking over the feudal power structure of other Chinese states.2 But the Roman empire their cavalry would be arranged in columns which will cover more space. The general will also assign his lightened armed troops which were javelin throwers, bowman, and slingers in the front. If not placed in the front the lightened armed troops would actually do more damage to the phalanx than the enemy. • 35. Analysis Of Queen Gertrude People are rarely who you think they are, but you are typically not as far off as Queen Gertrude. In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Queen Gertrude marries her husbands brother when her husband dies. As if this was not weird enough, The late king s brother Claudius, whom she marries also happens to be the one who killed her husband. Now he son Hamletis enraged that she has married so soon after the death of her husband, and then the ghostof his father appears to tell him the truth, From the ghost Hamlet learns that Claudius killed King Hamlet and took his crown and queen, but the play never says how informed Gertrudewas. However, throughout the play there are many pieces of evidence that prove that Queen Gertrude did not know about the murder of King Hamlet. An easy way to tell that Queen Gertrude is innocent is that the ghost of King Hamlet told Hamlet not to get revenge on her. When the ghost first appears to Hamlet he explains to him that he was murdered by his own brother, and that he wants vengeance. However, the ghost makes it clear that the only revenge he wants is on Claudius, and even specifies that Hamlet is to leave his mother alone by saying Taint not thy mind, nor let thy soul contrive/ Against thy mother aught. Leave her to heaven. By saying this the ghost is making sure that Hamlet knows that he doesn t want revenge on his mother for marrying this murderous man. Instead he simply wants revenge on the one who was responsible, so if Gertrude had been involved he would have wanted revenge on her as well. Since the ghost specifies to leave Gertrude alone, it can be inferred that she did not know that the death of King Hamlet was a murder, or who was responsible. Another way to tell that Gertrude is clueless about the murder of King Hamlet is her response to mentions of it. While Gertrude and Hamlet are arguing in her room, Hamlet makes remarks about what has happened and she seems genuinely confused and shocked. For example when she says how horrible of a thing it was for Hamlet to kill Polonius and he asks if it is as bad as killing a king, to which she responds As kill a king? (III.IV.31) If she had known about the murder she would have tried to defend it or protect herself. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper started with a quote which mainly emphasize on the power of imagination. The line which is quoted above, said by one of the early romantic poet, one who never went to university, never took opium, did not end up his life in a very tender age, never left England, did not went on any Grand tour in his life span, did not have any illicit or failed affairs or relationships, had no one who would call him father and unfortunately never got the fame during his own lifetime. He is the one, who shine out like a star whenever one talks about Mysticism and Imagination in English Literature, William Blake. What he says about Imagination is The Imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself. (Damon, Samuel Foster. Ed. Eaves Morris. A Blake Dictionary: The Ideas and Symbol Of William Blake. UPNE, 1988.) After reading his thoughts about imagination and the power of imagination one could able to recognize that he believes in the imaginary world around him. He talks about angels and God like figures which could be seen by him only, which proves him as true mystic. After knowing the fact that he was a mystic, the next questions which struck the minds is what is Mysticism? What is so fascinating in mysticism which makes him a mystic? Here is the answer, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, Mysticism is a Belief that union with or absorption into the deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge inaccessible to the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self surrender . It also comes with another definition which says, Vague or ill defined religious or spiritual belief, especially a belief in the occult . So, basically it is somehow related to the kind of religious beliefs a person have. Actually, Blake was a non conformist. Non conformism refers in history to religious groups that had alienated from the Church of England in the course of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Such people had groups like Baptists, Methodists, Puritans, Quakers and Unitarians. Few researchers believe that his parents were Swedenborgians or readers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I had taken writing classes in the past, but none to the extent of a college level writing course. One of the skills that I found I lacked the most was my vocabulary. While my writing structure was often not a problem my writingdid not sound as sophisticated as it could be. The National Science Foundation ( Nsf ) The National Science Foundation (NSF) leads a $280 million initiative enabling researchers to recreate the most destructive natural forces on Earth by shaking and rocking full sized structures. The earthquakemachine utilizes strain gauges and accelerometers numbering in the hundreds to record the many forces that artificially induced seismic activity places on the structure. New building codes and retrofitting practices have emerged due to the successes achieved at the NSF research site. As a result, $65 million will go toward similar research equipment facilities over the next five years.
