Women And Leadership
Title:
Women and leadership female style or male style?
The Pitch:
The debate about the difference in leadership style of women and men continues to attract attention
since women make strides into leadership position dominated mainly by men. Men have long been
holding these leadership roles and have defined styles accepted by people. Therefore, it is not
surprising that women are usual the focus in terms of the discussion on gender difference in leadership
styles. There seems to be great disagreement about the behaviour of women and men actually
performing such roles (Eagly, 2001). This disagreement on this focus can be divided into two groups.
One is the no difference camp, who commonly agreed that there are few differenced in the leadership
style of female and male leaders. The other is the gender stereotypic camp who believed the existence
of crucial differences in the leadership style between both (Alvesson, 2009).
Leadership style is usually viewed as relatively stable patterns of behavior that are represented by
leaders. In the circumstance of leadership, agentic and communal features seem especially relevant.
For example, agentic features such as independent, dominant and competitive are more attached to
men than to women. While communal features such as helpful, kind, gentle, sympathetic and personal
sensitive are strongly occupied by women than men (Eagly, 2003). In addition, according to Eagly and
Johannesen Schmidt (2001), the difference between agentic and

How To Write A Narrative Essay On Military Life
No! Please! Elizabeth! I could hear my mother screaming my name, being held back by doctors and
nurses, as I was taken away from the hospital by the Patrol. It was May 17, 2070, the day of my birth,
and I had just been separated from my sole and biological family. I was taken to a room down the hall
and placed in a gigantic tube that flickered with bright lights. Exasperated, I closed my eyes and lay
on the floor of the tube. Suddenly, there was a loud beeping noise and when I opened my eyes, the
noise was gone but so was the hospital.
The sandy land that surrounded me was bare and flat, and a colossal wire fence surrounded all of it. I
was trapped. A camouflaged jeep zoomed by almost running over me. It pulled over and a large,
stocky man ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their own tests, and as I scanned the crowd, my eyes fell on a small girl with a freckled face and
hazelnut eyes. She was staring right back at me and looked like she was giving me some type of
signal. She kept on opening her palms up and then closing them into a fist over and over again. I
realized, just before the timer went off, that the girl was telling me to look out for the faint, blinking
lights in some of the dirt mounds that showed that there was a land mine hidden there. I ran across the
field, looking closely at every mound of dirt that seemed to have something hidden inside. Finally, as I
neared the end of the field, the same little girl that had given me signals screamed, Watch out! Behind
you! from the sidelines. If it weren t for her, I would have

Mother-Daughter Relationships
The relationship between parents and their children is one of the most basic human interactions.
Mothers and daughters provide both physical and emotional care for their young sons and daughters.
In the process, parents will instill children with family values and goals, while teaching them the
accepted norms and values of society. This is done in hope that parents will one day see their own
children become mature adults, with their own goals and purposes in life.
Mother daughter relationships can be complex, but also filled with compassion and love. Mothers and
daughters often seem farther away from each other than they really are. Usually when a girl goes
through adolescence, the relationship between her and her mother begin ... Show more content on

#Even Western civilization has a history of unrealistic expectations about mothers. They are held
responsible for their children s happiness. Many people have troubles growing up enough to see their
mothers as people. As Mary Pipher writes in her book, Reviving Ophelia, of studies about adolescent
girls, #distant mothers are scorned, but mothers who are to close are accused of smothering and
overprotecting. Each chapter of Reviving Ophelia opens with a different scenario and in her book,
Pipher gives equal voices to both mothers and daughters. Maybe the first step of a daughter towards
maintaining a good relationship with her mother, is for her to see her mother as an individual.
Growing up requires adolescent girls to reject the person with whom they are most closely identified.
Daughters are socialized to have a tremendous fear of becoming like their mothers, but maybe if they
tried enough to really look at and understand their mothers, this would no longer be a fear to them. I
personally think that many girls do not realize they may have this fear themselves. I know I did not
realize I held it within myself, but then I also realized there was a lot more to my mother that I cared
to see. Once I saw past my close mindedness, I understood that there was nothing wrong with growing
up and acting a little like my mom. In fact, there were some qualities my mother held that I wanted to
imitate when I was a mother

Essay on The Harry Potter Controversy
The Harry Potter Controversy
The wildly popular Harry Potter book series by J. K. Rowling has caused controversy for many
families over the past five years. These novels according to some critics are harmless, adventurous,
children s tales. Others choose to portray them as stories that inspire children to become involved in
the occult and serious witchcraft. The Harry Potter novels chronicle the life of a young wizard whose
wizard parents were killed by the evil Lord Voldermort. On his eleventh birthday he receives
invitation to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Each of the five books represents a
year of his life there (Walker). This essay will discuss whether the Harry Potter novels are a suitable

She said that children will come into her store between books and ask her what can I read that s as
good as Harry Potter? (Kennedy Ross). Elementary school principal, Dennis Edge, spoke about how
the books have positively affected the reading as his school. He said that he would not suggest Harry
Potter is single handedly solving our reading problems but he did note that once students become
successful at reading that encourages them to read more (Kennedy Ross). Potter novels draw in
children and adults with interesting and humorous story lines.
Even children that are too young to read can benefit from having Harry Potter stories read to them.
Reading aloud humorous and exciting stories like Harry Potter allows for a myriad of shared emotions
(Giorgis 82). Interesting books read aloud leave kids wanting to hear another. Janet Seden, professor
of the School of Health and Social Welfare at Open University concluded that enjoyable fictional
experiences as a child create empathy in the reader and enable us to confront the need for imagination
as parents and practitioners (Seden 296). Some parents are pleased by the way that Harry Potter has
interested their children in reading, but others find the novels to promote good morals.
Harry Potter is a good role model for children. Harry is a boy wizard that despite all the hard breaks he

Animating Research Paper
Picking animating for your hobby can be a fun and challenging experience! However, if you are
considering animating their are a few things I think you should know. If you know about the
animating process, animating programs, what to do with finished animations, and animators to look at
for inspiration, then your animations may be smoother, and easier to make.
The animating process has three main parts; the frames, the audio, and editing. Frames are every
single picture that you use in animating. If you use frames correctly than your animations will be
smooth. To use frames correctly you must carefully study your character s movements for the first part
of you animation. Draw every movement that your character makes. If you use a lot of frames ... Show

Such as, Sudo and TV Paint. Most independent animators use Sudo because it is fairly easy to use and
it make good art and animation. TV Paint is extremely expensive however, it makes amazingly smooth
and detailed animation when used correctly. Most animators that have gone to college and have a
degree in art programing and animation use TV paint. There are many places to display your
animations and art so everyone can see it. Most animators post their creations on YouTube or a social
media site. While some animators post their works on sites from the company of the animating
program they are using. For example, Flipnote has a website called Sudomemo. Sudomemo is
accessible from a computer or a Nintendo DSI System. Their, flipnotes are available to watch and
download.
There are a few animator that have inspired me to animate. Some of their animation are worth looking
at. Sugurr(pronounced sugar), Vivziepop, and SaltyMilk can all be found on YouTube and are amazing
animators with smooth, detailed animation. They all use a different animating programed and have
developed their own unique art style. Shgurr uses Sudo and has a rather simplistic art style. Vivziepop
uses TV Paint and has an extremely detailed art style. SaltyMilk uses Flipnote and has a median
detailed art style.
In conclusion, animation can be a fun hobby or even an occupation. You must put work and thought
into what you do and be proud of your work. If the art is bad or animation is not smooth, take time to
practice your art and framework. Have fun

Kinematics Cycle duration greatly decreased with increased speed within the walking gait and running
at 4.5 mph (Fig. 2A,B; Table 1, 2). During walking, cycle duration was relatively shorter at slow
speeds and low inclines, but longer at fast speeds and low inclines (Fig. 2B). There were significant
differences in cycle duration between subjects, and interactions with cycle duration and subject, gait,

between subjects, speed and incline (Table 1,2,3). Stride length decreased at a notable rate with an
increased speed as well as with running within the 4.5 mph, and was at its lowest at a 0% incline (Fig.

Global Environmental Issues
Environmental issues are a major problem in our world, and all people need to recognize the need for
our social obligations. The effect of humans on our planet has increased significantly over the years.
Not only is the population constantly growing, there is new technical power to dig deeper, cut faster,
build larger, and traverse more quickly great distances in automobiles, trucks, and planes (Brown,
2001). Severe environmental issues have appeared throughout the world as a result. It is very
important that environmentalists work to educate everyone so that they can learn how to make the

The increased population helps to increase the amount of greenhouse gases, but it mainly contributes
to the consumption of our world s natural resources. The more advanced countries like the United
States use so many resources. Our people waste so much more than they help to conserve. Energy
security is a growing concern for rich and emerging nations alike. The past drive for fossil fuel energy
has led to wars, overthrow of democratically elected leaders, and puppet governments and
dictatorships. There are many concerns and fears which include oil and other fossil fuel depletion,
reliance on foreign sources of energy, energy demands rising from advancing developing countries
such as China and India, economic efficiency versus population growth debate, and renewable and
other alternative energy sources. (Shah, 2009). Many people are scared that we are wasting too much
of our fossil fuels. They think that if we keep going at our current rate, we will quickly use up all of
our fossil fuels. People need to try to consider all of the facts so that we can make good ethical
decisions. It would be very wise to invest in alternatives to fossil fuels. In the present and future, we
need to work on preserving as much as we possibly can. Currently, we are trying to find alternative
fuel sources instead of using all of our oil. That is just one example of ethical decisions that we are
committing to. If everyone was informed about all of the dangers so that

Roy Medvedev Analysis
With the destruction of the Tsarist regime, Russia stood at a crossroads no state had ever been at. For
the first time ever, a Socialist nation advocating Communism had managed to create a functioning
state. The works of Marx and Engels, pushed forth as the cure for the oppression of the proletariat, had
fallen successfully on the ears of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, who, with his theory of the Vanguard party,
pushed the Russian Empire into the Soviet era. Leninism became the central tenant of the Soviet

Analysis of Michael Moore’s Treatment of His Subject...
Analysis of Michael Moore s Treatment of His Subject Matter within the Documentaries Bowling for
Columbine and Fahrenheit 911
A documentary may be as a film or television or radio programme that provides factual information
about a subject. Typically, a documentary is a journalistic record of events presented on screen.
The main conventions of documentaries tend to be that the documentary has voice over commentary;
the main focus is on the issues rather than relationships between characters, they also build up the
setting so the viewer can build up a context.
Documentaries do not leave on cliff hangers, they usually end with a conclusion or final interpretation
to provoke thought on the issue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Editing can cause a bias to a subject matter; therefore the objectivity of a documentary may be lost.
An example of this is Michael Moore s apparent dislike of George Bush s administration and his
particular disgruntlement at the US for its invasion of Iraq. Winston says The line between
documentary and fiction is tenuous. Both are create by edititing and selection. Both, willingly, or
unwillingly, embody a viewpoint.
MICHAEL MOORE

Michael Moore, America s most populist commentator. Moore has a passion to throw himself into

Michael was born in Flint, where his first political views arose and grew. A General Motors car plant

Analysis Of The Book The Twilight Series
A young psychic teen hiding from the CIA embarks on a quest to find a hidden treasure that is linked
to an old murder, but corrupt police, the CIA, greedy relatives, a crazy homeless man, and the girl he
falls smitten with hinder his efforts.
STORY COMMENTS
CODE NAME TRACKER: INDIGO is a highly creative and imaginative novel that is targeted for the
young adult audience. Like the TWILIGHT series one can easily envision the success of such a series
of books and a possible film franchise.
The novel has a strong hook with the idea of the protagonist having psychic skills. The script
combines a supernatural tale with drama and dark comedy. The storyline offers intrigue, action,
forbidden love, betrayal, corruption, and the supernatural. The story also offers solid twists and turns.
The main storyline centers on the psychic teen searching for missing treasure. It s a smart story choice,
as everyone loves the idea of finding buried treasure. This gives the novel a strong, actionable goal
with merit, and it keeps the story goal focused.
The subplot of the budding teen romance supports the main storyline and is fluidly integrated.
One of the major strength of this novel is the compelling ensemble cast. Each character feels original
and refreshing. They are complex and rich in personality. There s no doubt that these characters would
attract talent if produced into a film.
The novel clearly identifies Ryan Gordon as the mystifying, insecure hero. Ryan is easy to like and

Legalization of Drugs Essay
The current hot topic debate about the legalization of marijuana for medical exposes the long lasting
debate about the economic viability of prohibiting certain kind of drugs considered illicit. Many social
costs to society are attributable to illicit drugs, along with tobacco, alcohol, and guns. In fact, each of
these vices is allegedly responsible for $200 billion annual expenditure in social costs of the USA
(Donohue, 2010). Interestingly, all these commodities mentioned above have common characteristics:
a sizeable proportion of consumers responsibly use each of them hence virtually zero social
externality; and a trivial subset of society individuals irresponsibly use each of these commodity to
create high social externalities. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course, their claim is relatively true because drug addicts produce negative externalities that affect
non market participants who include dependents of the drug addicts. This direct causal relationship
between drugs and crime is due to statistics that reveal a large proportion of the newly incinerated
convicts have recent prior drug use. One then could counter this premise with the argument that
energy drinks cause crimes in case criminals are found to have drunk energy drinks just before
committing crimes. This shallow assumption also excludes studies that reveal marijuana as neither a
gateway drug (its use leads to use of dangerous drugs like cocaine and Heroin) nor its possession
(which is a crime in itself) causes criminal tendencies. Their causal link relationship between drugs
and crime negates other factors that include demographics and socio economics. Proponents of
prohibition claim that it reduces demand and restrict supply, thereby diminishing drugs use, and the
costs of illness. Prohibition is certain to reduce the supply of drugs due to the stiff penalties imposed
on suppliers. However, their argument lacks authentic verification as numerous studies within the
USA and from other countries where these illicit drugs have been criminalized paint a different
picture.
Prohibition in this case refers to a government decree against the exchange of a good or a service

Perceptions And Perceptions Of Consumer Behavior Essay
In attitude behaviour relationships, the Theory of Reasoned Action states that consumer behaviours
are constructed by their attitudes, and the attitude itself is the result of the consumers perception
(Fishbein Ajzen, 1975). With regards to greenwashing, research has found that this attitude behaviour
relationship could manipulate the perception of consumer (see table 2 for perceptions and
explanations), for instance, perceived deception (Newell et al., 1998), perceived scepticism (Albayrak
et al., 2011), perceived inconsistency (Gallicano, 2011), perceived distrust, and/or perceived risk
(Chen Chang, 2013). Consumers motivations for purchasing green products differ and may even be
contradictory (Cleveland, Kalamas, Laroche, 2005). However, to some degree, the motivations are
thought to influence consumer purchasing behaviour and perception (Albayrak et al., 2011).
If the consumer s negative perceptions of falsely claimed green products are correlated, it corresponds
to Oliver s (1980) Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory, as well as Fishbein s Multi attribute Model
which also employs three components of attitude. Firstly, in Fishbein s Multi attribute Model are
salient beliefs , referencing the opinions an individual may acquire during the evaluation of goods or
services. Second, are object attribute linkages , these are a gauge of the possibility of significance
toward a specific attribute that is related to the object in question. The third component is

The greatest advantage with Super Kamagra is that it is a dual mechanism drug. This means it not only

INTERNAL ENVIRONMENT ANALYSIS
Resources
Tangible Resources Tangible resources help contribute to the development of capabilities and
competencies in a company. The biggest resource for Netflix, the world s largest online entertainment
subscription service, is CEO and founder Reed Hastings. Hastings founded Netflix in 1997, and
launched the online subscription service in 1999. For the first four years, the subscriber base was over
2 million (Maddox Thompson, 2006). As of August 2005, Netflix employed approximately 1,200
people in the United States. About 1,000 of them work in the company s distribution centers around
the country; close to 200 employees work at the company s headquarters in Los Gatos; and 20
employees work in studios in Los Angeles (ChronicleJobs, 2005). Netflix offers their members more
than 55,000 DVD title selections. This is more than any other online rental service in the United
States. In 2005, Netflix shipped more than 1 million DVDs a day. Its inventory was approximately 20
million DVDs, and Netflix spent $84.2 million acquiring new DVDs. As of September 30, 2005, the
company s balance sheet showed its DVD holdings at a net value of $52.7 million after depreciation

Disadvantages Of Interplanetary Travel
One of the main challenges that face interplanetary travel is the production of very large velocity
changes, necessary for travel between planets in the solar system. The Sun s gravitational pull affects
how spacecrafts move. The farther from the sun the slower the spacecraft and the faster they are closer
to the sun. Additionally, two planets have different distances from the sun and this causes a difference
on their speeds around the sun. This therefore means that the spaceships traveling closer to the sun
must reduce their speed with respect to the sun in order to intercept. For a spacecraft traveling away
from the sun, the speed must be increased substantially.
Changes in Velocity

Johnson Space Center. The folks at the center recently tested an electromagnetic (EM) propulsion
drive with the potential to replace the traditional propellant used in space travel. Although this
technology has been tested before, scientists at Johnson Space Center are the first to test and conduct
such trials under conditions similar to space in vacuum.
EM drives have over a long time worked great in theory but the technology had been seen to be
hindered by certain fundamental principles of physics. This is the main reason why it had take more
time to fully attain its stability for real world applications. The key to present success for this drive lay
in the quantum vacuum. The practical application for electromagnetic drives to space travel and
specifically to space stations was certainly brought closer to reality in 2010 by a Chinese professor,
Juan Yang. His research showed that such a drive may provide the needed power to enable the
International Space Station to accomplish its tasks without any need for energy re boosts from visiting
vehicles. The main challenge was how to overcome the complexity of propulsion in

Important Change In Middle School-Personal Narrative
I was terrified of starting middle school. I had attended the same elementary school for seven years,
change scared me. I ve now realized how important change is, and to not fear it.
When I was just starting middle school I remember my best friend and I seeing a boy we knew
walking. When we saw him she told me tomorrow I m going to say goodbye to him because once we
are in middle school I will have better people to talk to, and never have to talk to him again. During
middle school I remember not speaking my thoughts because of fear of how they would react, so I just
didn t say much. Eventually they stopped talking to me or inviting me to do stuff with them. I guess I
was no different to them than the boy walking down the street. This experience

Research Paper On Circumcision
When having a child many questions arise such as where will we take baby while we work, how are
we going to accommodate another person in the household, and the ultimate will we circumcise? For
some families in the world it is not even a familiar question discussed, but unfortunately in the US it is
a very prevalent practice. It saddens and almost scares me that we have become so desensitized to the
thought of male circumcision of newborns. In reality it is a very horrendous unnecessary procedure
that is far too over looked. Majority of the world do not participate in the circumcision of male
newborns and deem it unnecessary. I believe this barbaric practice should be stopped. Hopefully in the
next few decades circumcision will ultimately no longer be the decision of parents in the US, unless
deemed medically necessary. Cutting off a vital piece of skin on a vulnerable, sensitive, healthy organ
should be the decision of the person in question not the parent, not your body not your choice. The
origins of circumcision date back farther than the bible. One theory that stuck out to me was one that
originated in Africa as a way to purify people, as sex was considered to make one impure. Therefore,
how would you keep people from having sex? I would assume maybe to desensitize the sex organs
would be the best option, hence circumcision. The well cited source, CIRP, states that, Human
sexuality was seen as dirty or impure in some societies; hence cutting off the

Unfair Dismissal Of The United Kingdom
In acquiescent to the definition that George has given to dismissal. I would like to integrate on the
following. Unfair dismissal in the United Kingdom is a component of UK labour law that insists on
fair and just and plausible treatment by employers in cases where an employee s job could be
terminated. The Employment Rights Act 1996 regulates this by highlighting that employees are
entitled to a fair reason afore being dismissed predicated on their capability to do the job, their
conduct, whether their position is economically redundant, on grounds of a statute, or some other
substantial reason. It is therefore automatically inequitable for an employer to dismiss an employee
regardless of length of service, for a reason cognate to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The test is defined in section 98(4) of the Employment Rights Act 1996 as Charlotte and George have
already highlighted.
Above all the employer is expected to act reasonably in dismissing the employee. This principle
derived originally from the case British Home Stores v Burchell [1980] ICR 303 which concluded that
an employer should base a decision to dismiss on a genuine belief, based on reasonable grounds and
following a reasonable investigation that there where grounds to justify dismissal. This is what is
known as the range of reasonable response test. (Chris Turner, Unlocking Employment law, 1st edn,
Routledge, 2013) 571).This test has been subject to criticism and the reasons are highlighted below.
To begin with Tor Brodtkorb highlighting that, one of the end of unfair dismissal law at the time of its
enactment was to ascent the criterion followed by employers in dismissing to offer employees greater
security measures in their employment (The Report of the Royal Commission on Trade unions and
Employer s Associations, 1968). Because of the RORR test, the law on unfair dismissal has done very
little to growth job security for employees and to protect them from the whims of management. The
exam requires the tribunal to imagine a range of reasonable employer answer to wrongful

Applying A Balance Sheet On The World Of Finances
Excited to enroll in this class from the very beginning, I found it to be very informative. Not just it
taught me the important terminology used in the world of finances, but also allowed to apply these
concepts into my own financial life.
First of all, thanks to you, Professor Rutter, I have finally devoted time to make a balance sheet, a
document stating my current assets and income, and liabilities at the certain period of time. Now I
have been deliberately reviewing my credit card statements for the previous month, and calculating
how much money I have spent on the food each month, or how much I have spent on shopping at
amazon.com, etc. And even though my consuming behavior was never driven by materialism
completely, this class reminded me to be realistic about my general spendings, and to strictly separate
the needs from the wants. Additionally, I have expanded my skill of setting financial goals and
working towards them. For example, because of Christmas time that is approaching fast, which
usually includes gifts and travels, I suggested and pursued that my family (me, my husband, and our
child) stick to the weekly budget for food, including dining out. And it is been very helpful method to
save some money.
Then, the topic regarding financial institutions, as well as services and fees related to these
institutions, I found to be very empowering: this topic convinced me that doing a research prior
making any commitment to any institution is extremely important. As we

Comparing David And Bernini s David
Michelangelo s sculpture of David, as seen on the left, was created during the Renaissance. His style
of creating the sculpture is very different from Bernini s David, which can be seen on the right. While
both of these sculptures are meant to resemble the same young man who defeated Goliath the giant,
their features and characteristics make them appear as two separate individuals. However, both
sculptures capture the personality of David. These sculptures share a common meaning, but qualities
such as stability versus instability, reserved versus involving, calm versus emotional, and light versus
dark set them apart. As both of the titles of the sculptures represent, the man is David in the Bible.
During both the time of the Renaissance and the time of Baroque, people were very religious. The two
show the heroism and braveness of the personality of David who had the help of God to defeat a giant
who was much larger than himself. Despite a similar purpose behind them, the style that the two
artists used created different feelings between the sculptures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

is tightly pulling back the slingshot and the furrowing of his eyebrows. He looks as if he is worried
and he is determined to use all of his strength to defeat the giant, even though he knows God is still on
his side. Pulling back the slingshot with an arm crossing the body, in addition to the tilting of the head
to the side, generates a diagonal position in the sculpture, making it appear

The Study of Dark Matter
Dark matter is a hypothesized form of matter particle that does not reflect or emit electromagnetic
radiation. The existence of dark matter is inferred from gravitational effects on visible matter, such as
stars and galaxies (Andrew Zimmerman Jones). Dark matter is crucial to the study of the universe and
the existence of the human race. Since either dark matter or dark energy have neither been actually
observed and all theories, we will be evaluating them from scientific standpoint. Since most of the
light in the universe is not seen or can be seen because of the existence of dark matter, no one can
really tell what exactly it is. This is why dark matter is the generic term used to describe the part of the
universe in which light is neither absorbed nor reflected. Through the evaluated articles, we can
deduce that the theory was first proposed by Astronomer Jon Oort in 1932 and further examined in
1933 by Fritz Zwicky. While studying, he made note of a large portion of missing mass within the
galaxy. Jan Oort was studying the matter in the galaxy and noticed that there has to be more mass then
that could be seen but figured that he made an error. Astrophysicist Fritz Zwicky made a similar
observation when using mathematical equations to calculate the mass of the universe and noticed that
there was evidence of invisible matter. Both men basically theorized that there is something in the
universe thats invisible and abundant that provided enough gravity to hold

Land Of The Giants Summary
Alex Tizon is an immigrant from the Philippines. Alex describes the challenge his parents had of not
knowing any English and having to adapt by changing from their native tongue to cope with society,
as he demonstrates in the article Land Of The Giants as loss of a world and the beginning of
bewilderment . Alex Tizon s Article is hugely relatable to most immigrants because almost all those
who are immigrants at one point have to face these challenges, including myself. In Land of the Giants
written by Alex Tizon, he shows that immigrants have plenty of different characteristics that are often
modified to go along with society such as personality, physical features, as well as a completely
different culture . Immediately, Americanization became Alex s ambition towards the end of the article
and it all commenced with a change in personality. For example, in many situations he could have

relationships with other white people by removing his accent to have more flow in his conversations
with other English speakers. As well adjusting from his old Filipino beliefs to the new American
culture He changed his temperament to a more calm and civil state so he could be less of a

Search Engine Optimization, Or Seo
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is a technical marketing discipline, the purpose of which is to
make a website relevant, reachable, and visible to users searching for keywords and topics. (Linkdex).
With an average of 3 billion web queries each day, internet search is critical for a business to gain
edge over its competition. SEO has become the standard for marketers as a way to be found in search
to attract qualified traffic and leads.
From a business perspective, SEO cannot be treated as a separate entity from a company s overall
marketing plan. In order to be successful, Search Engine Optimization considerations should play a
role in guiding the public relations, development, and marketing team efforts so that reputation, ...

Ranking is how the search engine decides to deliver the most relevant results to searchers
(Copyblogger). This is accomplished by algorithmic functions that rank search results based on the
best guess of what someone was really looking for during their web query.
One obvious coding technique that is used to optimize search ability is the strategic placement of
identifying search engine keywords in the HTML title tag, meta description tag, and header tags.
However, before a web developer can start optimizing his site for a certain keyword or phrase, he
needs to understand what keywords are the best fit for his business. To do so, a web developer may
use a keyword search tool such as Google AdWords, that provide targeted keywords that are relevant
to a web developer s audience, are pulling in a good amount of search traffic, and are not too difficult
to rank. After a web developer has researched and selected which keywords would best match his web
page, he must then start incorporating those keywords into important parts of the webpage. HTML
titles have always been and remain the most important HTML signal that search engines use to
understand what a page is about. Unique, descriptive titles are the most successful in being searched.
The meta description tag, one of the oldest supported HTML elements, allows you to suggest how you
d like your pages to be described in

The Use of Deception in William Shakespeare s Twelfth...
The Use of Deception in William Shakespeare s Twelfth Night Deception is a key theme in William
Shakespeare s Twelfth Night. The characters must use deception to obtain good things, escape bad
situations, or to play cruel hilarious ticks on other people. One example of deception is when Viola
clothes herself in men s clothing in order to obtain a job under the Duke of Illyria, Orsino. During
another scene Sir Andrew, Fabian, Maria, and Sir Toby Belch trick Malvolio into making a fool of
himself. A third example of deception is when Feste the jester disguises himself as Sir Topas and
taunts Malvolio. Each of these scenes and characters helps depict the different uses of deception. The

Olivia mistakenly proposes to Sebastian. Despite the fact that Sebastian has never met Olivia, he
accepts the marriage. After the Duke discovers Viola s gender, he falls in love with her and they wed.
A second example of deception is the cruel trick that Sir Andrew, Fabian, Maria, and Sir Toby Belch
play on Malvolio. Maria, Olivia s lady in waiting , writes a note in her mistress s handwriting saying
that Olivia falls for men who wear high yellow stockings and smile all the time. Sir Toby says: He
shall think by the letter that thou wilt drop that they come from my niece, and that she s in love with
him. (Shakespeare, 157) The conspirators then place the note in Maria s garden, a place where
Malvolio surely will find it. They do this to Malvolio because he had ruined their rambunctious fun
the night before. Malvolio finds the letter and reads it: ...cast thy humble slough, and appear fresh. Be
opposite with kinsman, surly with servants...Remember who commended thy yellow stockings, and
wished to see thee ever cross gartered . (Shakespeare, 139 145) Later, Malvolio confronts Olivia and
she thinks he is insane. Malvolio gets put in a cage and becomes isolated for his behavior. Far a third
and final example of deception, Feste disguises himself as Sir Topas to further annoy Malvolio. Maria
asks Feste to dress up in a gown and hat and put on a long beard, to disguise himself as

Essay On Identity In Othello
A change in an individual s perspective and identity can enrich an individual s sense of belonging.
Conversely, an individual s sense of belonging may be destroyed when a change in their perspective
and identity occurs. An identifiable example is Othello, wherein it is perceivable that his notion of
identity and strong sense of self is shattered. His calm and collective persona has become one that is
unstable and insecure which, in turn, affects his sense of belonging, particularly with Desdemona, and
position as a Venetian general. A demonstration of this concept is seen in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 61 62)
where Iago exclaims There s many a beat then in a populous city, And many a civil monster. Within
the quote, Iago identifies animalistic characteristics through the use of animal imagery to compare
with Othello s changed demeanour. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He attempts to convince Othello that animalistic behaviour is of the norm in Venice, using the
metaphorical aspect that relates to Othello s collected persona that has metamorphosed into a mad and
unstable man, depicting Othello s downfall and changed perspective of self. His sense of belonging
has spiralled as he no longer trusts the woman he loved the most. A quote that further supports this
idea is found in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 60) in which Iago states: A hornèd man s a monster and a beast .
Iago challenges Othello s sense of belonging through the animalistic imagery and metaphor. Othello
believes that it is his own fault he is not able to satisfy his wife s sexual desires and is dejected,
referring to himself as being the cuckold of Venetian society. The word horned alludes to figurative
horns that a husband grew to showcase his wife s infidelity, which brought about much chagrin and
humiliation to

Benefits Of Free Agency Essay
We are less than 90 days Away from hockey and that famous puck drop but what will we do to pass

out the rest of this year s roster. My favorite and most exciting piece to this year s roster has to be
Sergei Plotnikov a big bodied Russian winger who lit it up in the KHL. I love his eagerness and
wanting to join the penguins as he paid 500,000 dollars to buy out his KHL contract to join us

Zone Of Proximal Development Paper
1) The Zone of Proximal Development. Please add two examples applying this concept to schooling.
The Zone of Proximal Development is where the skill set taught to the child is much higher than the
child s skill set. It also refers to the ability of children to master a task either on their own or with help.
It describes the difficulty of a task ranging from a kid who gets it right away to someone who could
not master the task without several weeks of assistance.
Vygotsky felt that the child s current sociocultural environment played a strong role in how well they
learned and language plays a strong role in shaping their thoughts. He also felt that the teacher should

private speech is an important aspect of learning in all stages of development. Try to watch yourself
when you are trying to solve a difficult problem and I beat you think aloud. It is not just for young
children.
When you are writing a paper, reading the paper aloud is the best way to proofread your paper. I also
like thinking quietly since I can think faster than I can talk, so often times I will do silent thinking.
3) Vygotsky and education. How important is education and what is the primary school teacher s role?
Education is very important and the primary teacher s role plays a large part in how well a child
learns. She should be a guide to the students and not be a dictator. Meaning she show them how to do
things in a step by step process so they can eventually perform these task on their own. Early
education sets the stage for learning in later years and is a very important aspect of child development.
4) Do you think Piaget s theory or Vygotsky s theory would be more helpful in teaching? Explain and

A New Paradigm For Power Generation And Transmission
MicroGrids: A New Paradigm for Power Generation and Transmission
Motivations behind the emerging concept of the MicroGrid
The emerging concept of MicroGrids or SmartGrids is aimed at changing the paradigm of the
conventional power system in order to meet various challenges facing modern day society. To
understand why the shift in paradigm is necessary, it is important to have a firm knowledge of the
layout of conventional power systems as well as the energy challenges facing our society. A high level
example of a conventional power system is shown in figure 1.

Greenhouse gas emissions have been identified as the main cause of global warming, which is having
a devastating effect on our eco system. Historically the majority of conventional large scale power
stations have been utilising the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas or petroleum to
generate electricity, which acts as a large source of greenhouse gas emissions. From the 2014 UK
electricity flowchart, figure 2, it can be seen that the majority of electricity generation is driven by
fossil fuels leading to the release of vast quantities of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere
and, as a consequence, heavily contributing towards climate change.
Figure 2. DUKES UK 2014 Electricity flowchart [2].
With the aim of combating climate change there is a desire to increase the penetration of renewable
generation in the UK network at both transmission and distribution level. The introduction of
renewable generation into the network presents numerous technical challenges due its inherent
intermittency. For example, if a large scale wind farm is connected to the transmission network and
the wind speed is approximately 28ms creating a 1GW output. Suddenly the wind speed rapidly
increases above the cut off wind speed of 25ms, causing the entire wind farm to shut down. This
sudden loss of generation could potentially cause an unacceptable frequency deviation and lead to a

  • 2. Women And Leadership Title: Women and leadership female style or male style? The Pitch: The debate about the difference in leadership style of women and men continues to attract attention since women make strides into leadership position dominated mainly by men. Men have long been holding these leadership roles and have defined styles accepted by people. Therefore, it is not surprising that women are usual the focus in terms of the discussion on gender difference in leadership styles. There seems to be great disagreement about the behaviour of women and men actually performing such roles (Eagly, 2001). This disagreement on this focus can be divided into two groups. One is the no difference camp, who commonly agreed that there are few differenced in the leadership style of female and male leaders. The other is the gender stereotypic camp who believed the existence of crucial differences in the leadership style between both (Alvesson, 2009). Leadership style is usually viewed as relatively stable patterns of behavior that are represented by leaders. In the circumstance of leadership, agentic and communal features seem especially relevant. For example, agentic features such as independent, dominant and competitive are more attached to men than to women. While communal features such as helpful, kind, gentle, sympathetic and personal sensitive are strongly occupied by women than men (Eagly, 2003). In addition, according to Eagly and Johannesen Schmidt (2001), the difference between agentic and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How To Write A Narrative Essay On Military Life No! Please! Elizabeth! I could hear my mother screaming my name, being held back by doctors and nurses, as I was taken away from the hospital by the Patrol. It was May 17, 2070, the day of my birth, and I had just been separated from my sole and biological family. I was taken to a room down the hall and placed in a gigantic tube that flickered with bright lights. Exasperated, I closed my eyes and lay on the floor of the tube. Suddenly, there was a loud beeping noise and when I opened my eyes, the noise was gone but so was the hospital. The sandy land that surrounded me was bare and flat, and a colossal wire fence surrounded all of it. I was trapped. A camouflaged jeep zoomed by almost running over me. It pulled over and a large, stocky man ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was a dark and windy day in October. The trees were dancing in the strong breeze and all the Tens, Elevens, and Twelves were scheduled for individual training tests. I was scheduled for a 9:00 A.M. land mine agility test. In order to pass the test, I would need to cross an entire field without stepping on an artificial land mine. As I stepped onto the platform, the clock started to count down. 10...should I just run for my life...9...or should I carefully step around the field...8...maybe they didn t even hide any land mines...7...oh of course they did! I found myself looking around at the others waiting for their own tests, and as I scanned the crowd, my eyes fell on a small girl with a freckled face and hazelnut eyes. She was staring right back at me and looked like she was giving me some type of signal. She kept on opening her palms up and then closing them into a fist over and over again. I realized, just before the timer went off, that the girl was telling me to look out for the faint, blinking lights in some of the dirt mounds that showed that there was a land mine hidden there. I ran across the field, looking closely at every mound of dirt that seemed to have something hidden inside. Finally, as I neared the end of the field, the same little girl that had given me signals screamed, Watch out! Behind you! from the sidelines. If it weren t for her, I would have ... • 4. Mother-Daughter Relationships The relationship between parents and their children is one of the most basic human interactions. Mothers and daughters provide both physical and emotional care for their young sons and daughters. In the process, parents will instill children with family values and goals, while teaching them the accepted norms and values of society. This is done in hope that parents will one day see their own children become mature adults, with their own goals and purposes in life. Mother daughter relationships can be complex, but also filled with compassion and love. Mothers and daughters often seem farther away from each other than they really are. Usually when a girl goes through adolescence, the relationship between her and her mother begin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... #Even Western civilization has a history of unrealistic expectations about mothers. They are held responsible for their children s happiness. Many people have troubles growing up enough to see their mothers as people. As Mary Pipher writes in her book, Reviving Ophelia, of studies about adolescent girls, #distant mothers are scorned, but mothers who are to close are accused of smothering and overprotecting. Each chapter of Reviving Ophelia opens with a different scenario and in her book, Pipher gives equal voices to both mothers and daughters. Maybe the first step of a daughter towards maintaining a good relationship with her mother, is for her to see her mother as an individual. Growing up requires adolescent girls to reject the person with whom they are most closely identified. Daughters are socialized to have a tremendous fear of becoming like their mothers, but maybe if they tried enough to really look at and understand their mothers, this would no longer be a fear to them. I personally think that many girls do not realize they may have this fear themselves. I know I did not realize I held it within myself, but then I also realized there was a lot more to my mother that I cared to see. Once I saw past my close mindedness, I understood that there was nothing wrong with growing up and acting a little like my mom. In fact, there were some qualities my mother held that I wanted to imitate when I was a mother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay on The Harry Potter Controversy The Harry Potter Controversy The wildly popular Harry Potter book series by J. K. Rowling has caused controversy for many families over the past five years. These novels according to some critics are harmless, adventurous, children s tales. Others choose to portray them as stories that inspire children to become involved in the occult and serious witchcraft. The Harry Potter novels chronicle the life of a young wizard whose wizard parents were killed by the evil Lord Voldermort. On his eleventh birthday he receives invitation to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Each of the five books represents a year of his life there (Walker). She said that children will come into her store between books and ask her what can I read that s as good as Harry Potter? (Kennedy Ross). Elementary school principal, Dennis Edge, spoke about how the books have positively affected the reading as his school. He said that he would not suggest Harry Potter is single handedly solving our reading problems but he did note that once students become successful at reading that encourages them to read more (Kennedy Ross). Potter novels draw in children and adults with interesting and humorous story lines. Even children that are too young to read can benefit from having Harry Potter stories read to them. Reading aloud humorous and exciting stories like Harry Potter allows for a myriad of shared emotions (Giorgis 82). Interesting books read aloud leave kids wanting to hear another. Janet Seden, professor of the School of Health and Social Welfare at Open University concluded that enjoyable fictional experiences as a child create empathy in the reader and enable us to confront the need for imagination as parents and practitioners (Seden 296). Some parents are pleased by the way that Harry Potter has interested their children in reading, but others find the novels to promote good morals. Harry Potter is a good role model for children. The more advanced countries like the United States use so many resources. Our people waste so much more than they help to conserve. Energy security is a growing concern for rich and emerging nations alike. The past drive for fossil fuel energy has led to wars, overthrow of democratically elected leaders, and puppet governments and dictatorships. There are many concerns and fears which include oil and other fossil fuel depletion, reliance on foreign sources of energy, energy demands rising from advancing developing countries such as China and India, economic efficiency versus population growth debate, and renewable and other alternative energy sources. (Shah, 2009). Many people are scared that we are wasting too much of our fossil fuels. They think that if we keep going at our current rate, we will quickly use up all of our fossil fuels. People need to try to consider all of the facts so that we can make good ethical decisions. It would be very wise to invest in alternatives to fossil fuels. In the present and future, we need to work on preserving as much as we possibly can. Currently, we are trying to find alternative fuel sources instead of using all of our oil. That is just one example of ethical decisions that we are committing to. If everyone was informed about all of the dangers so that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main conventions of documentaries tend to be that the documentary has voice over commentary; the main focus is on the issues rather than relationships between characters, they also build up the setting so the viewer can build up a context. STORY COMMENTS CODE NAME TRACKER: INDIGO is a highly creative and imaginative novel that is targeted for the young adult audience. Like the TWILIGHT series one can easily envision the success of such a series of books and a possible film franchise. The novel has a strong hook with the idea of the protagonist having psychic skills. The script combines a supernatural tale with drama and dark comedy. The storyline offers intrigue, action, forbidden love, betrayal, corruption, and the supernatural. The story also offers solid twists and turns. The main storyline centers on the psychic teen searching for missing treasure. It s a smart story choice, as everyone loves the idea of finding buried treasure. This gives the novel a strong, actionable goal with merit, and it keeps the story goal focused. The subplot of the budding teen romance supports the main storyline and is fluidly integrated. One of the major strength of this novel is the compelling ensemble cast. Each character feels original and refreshing. They are complex and rich in personality. Legalization of Drugs Essay The current hot topic debate about the legalization of marijuana for medical exposes the long lasting debate about the economic viability of prohibiting certain kind of drugs considered illicit. Many social costs to society are attributable to illicit drugs, along with tobacco, alcohol, and guns. In fact, each of these vices is allegedly responsible for $200 billion annual expenditure in social costs of the USA (Donohue, 2010). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course, their claim is relatively true because drug addicts produce negative externalities that affect non market participants who include dependents of the drug addicts. This direct causal relationship between drugs and crime is due to statistics that reveal a large proportion of the newly incinerated convicts have recent prior drug use. One then could counter this premise with the argument that energy drinks cause crimes in case criminals are found to have drunk energy drinks just before committing crimes. This shallow assumption also excludes studies that reveal marijuana as neither a gateway drug (its use leads to use of dangerous drugs like cocaine and Heroin) nor its possession (which is a crime in itself) causes criminal tendencies. Their causal link relationship between drugs and crime negates other factors that include demographics and socio economics. Proponents of prohibition claim that it reduces demand and restrict supply, thereby diminishing drugs use, and the costs of illness. Prohibition is certain to reduce the supply of drugs due to the stiff penalties imposed on suppliers. • 19. Perceptions And Perceptions Of Consumer Behavior Essay In attitude behaviour relationships, the Theory of Reasoned Action states that consumer behaviours are constructed by their attitudes, and the attitude itself is the result of the consumers perception (Fishbein Ajzen, 1975). With regards to greenwashing, research has found that this attitude behaviour relationship could manipulate the perception of consumer (see table 2 for perceptions and explanations), for instance, perceived deception (Newell et al., 1998), perceived scepticism (Albayrak et al., 2011), perceived inconsistency (Gallicano, 2011), perceived distrust, and/or perceived risk (Chen Chang, 2013). Consumers motivations for purchasing green products differ and may even be contradictory (Cleveland, Kalamas, Laroche, 2005). However, to some degree, the motivations are thought to influence consumer purchasing behaviour and perception (Albayrak et al., 2011). If the consumer s negative perceptions of falsely claimed green products are correlated, it corresponds to Oliver s (1980) Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory, as well as Fishbein s Multi attribute Model which also employs three components of attitude. Firstly, in Fishbein s Multi attribute Model are salient beliefs , referencing the opinions an individual may acquire during the evaluation of goods or services. The Sun s gravitational pull affects how spacecrafts move. The farther from the sun the slower the spacecraft and the faster they are closer to the sun. Additionally, two planets have different distances from the sun and this causes a difference on their speeds around the sun. For some families in the world it is not even a familiar question discussed, but unfortunately in the US it is a very prevalent practice. It saddens and almost scares me that we have become so desensitized to the thought of male circumcision of newborns. In reality it is a very horrendous unnecessary procedure that is far too over looked. Majority of the world do not participate in the circumcision of male newborns and deem it unnecessary. I believe this barbaric practice should be stopped. Hopefully in the next few decades circumcision will ultimately no longer be the decision of parents in the US, unless deemed medically necessary. Cutting off a vital piece of skin on a vulnerable, sensitive, healthy organ should be the decision of the person in question not the parent, not your body not your choice. The origins of circumcision date back farther than the bible. One theory that stuck out to me was one that originated in Africa as a way to purify people, as sex was considered to make one impure. Therefore, how would you keep people from having sex? I would assume maybe to desensitize the sex organs would be the best option, hence circumcision. The Employment Rights Act 1996 regulates this by highlighting that employees are entitled to a fair reason afore being dismissed predicated on their capability to do the job, their conduct, whether their position is economically redundant, on grounds of a statute, or some other substantial reason. This is what is known as the range of reasonable response test. The existence of dark matter is inferred from gravitational effects on visible matter, such as stars and galaxies (Andrew Zimmerman Jones). Dark matter is crucial to the study of the universe and the existence of the human race. Since either dark matter or dark energy have neither been actually observed and all theories, we will be evaluating them from scientific standpoint. Since most of the light in the universe is not seen or can be seen because of the existence of dark matter, no one can really tell what exactly it is. This is why dark matter is the generic term used to describe the part of the universe in which light is neither absorbed nor reflected. Through the evaluated articles, we can deduce that the theory was first proposed by Astronomer Jon Oort in 1932 and further examined in 1933 by Fritz Zwicky. While studying, he made note of a large portion of missing mass within the galaxy. Jan Oort was studying the matter in the galaxy and noticed that there has to be more mass then that could be seen but figured that he made an error. His calm and collective persona has become one that is unstable and insecure which, in turn, affects his sense of belonging, particularly with Desdemona, and position as a Venetian general. A demonstration of this concept is seen in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 61 62) where Iago exclaims There s many a beat then in a populous city, And many a civil monster. Within the quote, Iago identifies animalistic characteristics through the use of animal imagery to compare with Othello s changed demeanour. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He attempts to convince Othello that animalistic behaviour is of the norm in Venice, using the metaphorical aspect that relates to Othello s collected persona that has metamorphosed into a mad and unstable man, depicting Othello s downfall and changed perspective of self. His sense of belonging has spiralled as he no longer trusts the woman he loved the most. A quote that further supports this idea is found in Act 4 Scene 1 (Line 60) in which Iago states: A hornèd man s a monster and a beast . Iago challenges Othello s sense of belonging through the animalistic imagery and metaphor. Othello believes that it is his own fault he is not able to satisfy his wife s sexual desires and is dejected, referring to himself as being the cuckold of Venetian society. The word horned alludes to figurative horns that a husband grew to showcase his wife s infidelity, which brought about much chagrin and humiliation to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Benefits Of Free Agency Essay We are less than 90 days Away from hockey and that famous puck drop but what will we do to pass the time as we nervously await the chance at a season where at the end we get to raise the famous cup. Well for me free agency is a big part of how I pass the time so without a further to do here are my first impressions about free agency and why you should be excited for the home opener in the Consol Energy Center come October. Free agency has been a whiz of rumors and big moves. Cap stricken the penguins have not been able to spend like they have in previous summers but that certainly did not stop Jim Rutherford from making a splash this offseason pulling off one of the bigger trades in recent memory. Yes, Jim moved James Neal to the predators for Patric hornqvist and Nick Spaling and not saying anything bad about them but this is Phil Kessel. One of the top 5 scorers in the league and has not missed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In return, Pittsburgh acquired TylerBiggs a big bodied winger prospect along with Phil Kessel along with D man Tim Erixon along with the draft pick we traded to the leafs for David Winnik last march. Along with this block buster deal Rutherford has been using whatever cap room we had left to flesh out the rest of this year s roster. My favorite and most exciting piece to this year s roster has to be Sergei Plotnikov a big bodied Russian winger who lit it up in the KHL. I love his eagerness and wanting to join the penguins as he paid 500,000 dollars to buy out his KHL contract to join us stateside. Him playing on a line with Geno like he did at the Olympics along with whatever winger they stick on the right side will be money all day long. Rutherford also did well with replenishing the stock pile of depth forwards and defenseman with cheap signings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Zone Of Proximal Development Paper 1) The Zone of Proximal Development. Please add two examples applying this concept to schooling. The Zone of Proximal Development is where the skill set taught to the child is much higher than the child s skill set. It also refers to the ability of children to master a task either on their own or with help. It describes the difficulty of a task ranging from a kid who gets it right away to someone who could not master the task without several weeks of assistance. Vygotsky felt that the child s current sociocultural environment played a strong role in how well they learned and language plays a strong role in shaping their thoughts. He also felt that the teacher should guide the student and that other students should be used as part of the teaching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Actually right now, I want to think aloud, but the fact that my husband is in the other room, means I cannot. Because of that of that, I will edit and go over this tomorrow when he is not here. I believe private speech is an important aspect of learning in all stages of development. Try to watch yourself when you are trying to solve a difficult problem and I beat you think aloud. It is not just for young children. When you are writing a paper, reading the paper aloud is the best way to proofread your paper. I also like thinking quietly since I can think faster than I can talk, so often times I will do silent thinking. 3) Vygotsky and education. How important is education and what is the primary school teacher s role? Education is very important and the primary teacher s role plays a large part in how well a child learns. She should be a guide to the students and not be a dictator. Meaning she show them how to do things in a step by step process so they can eventually perform these task on their own. Early education sets the stage for learning in later years and is a very important aspect of child development. 4) Do you think Piaget s theory or Vygotsky s theory would be more helpful in teaching? Explain and add several examples. Both have theories that are helpful when teaching young children new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. A New Paradigm For Power Generation And Transmission MicroGrids: A New Paradigm for Power Generation and Transmission Motivations behind the emerging concept of the MicroGrid The emerging concept of MicroGrids or SmartGrids is aimed at changing the paradigm of the conventional power system in order to meet various challenges facing modern day society. To understand why the shift in paradigm is necessary, it is important to have a firm knowledge of the layout of conventional power systems as well as the energy challenges facing our society. A high level example of a conventional power system is shown in figure 1. Figure 1. Conventional power system configuration [1]. Conventionally our electricity has been generated by a low number of large power stations. These power stations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Greenhouse gas emissions have been identified as the main cause of global warming, which is having a devastating effect on our eco system. Historically the majority of conventional large scale power stations have been utilising the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas or petroleum to generate electricity, which acts as a large source of greenhouse gas emissions. From the 2014 UK electricity flowchart, figure 2, it can be seen that the majority of electricity generation is driven by fossil fuels leading to the release of vast quantities of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and, as a consequence, heavily contributing towards climate change. Figure 2. DUKES UK 2014 Electricity flowchart [2]. With the aim of combating climate change there is a desire to increase the penetration of renewable generation in the UK network at both transmission and distribution level. The introduction of renewable generation into the network presents numerous technical challenges due its inherent intermittency. For example, if a large scale wind farm is connected to the transmission network and the wind speed is approximately 28ms creating a 1GW output. Suddenly the wind speed rapidly increases above the cut off wind speed of 25ms, causing the entire wind farm to shut down. This sudden loss of generation could potentially cause an unacceptable frequency deviation and lead to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
