Lindi Friend School is a refuge of hope and joy for the children of Kibera, a large urban slum in Nairobi. The school provides quality faith-based education, a safe place for children to play, and serves families who struggle to pay school fees. For many children, the meal they receive at school is their only meal for the day.
The school was established in 2005 by Friends in Nairobi who were called to serve the impoverished families living in Kibera. Today, Lindi Friends School has nearly 200 students in our nursery and primary programs. Many of their graduates pass the national exams, which qualifies them to go on to secondary school.
Since 2010, Lindi Friends School is under the care of Nairobi Yearly Meeting. Friends United Meeting partners with the Yearly Meeting to provide funds and support for the school. The most pressing priorities are to raise standards and wages for our teachers, purchase school supplies for our classrooms, scholarships for children who cannot pay school fees, and sponsors for our feeding program.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. About Us
The Samburu
Friends Mission is
located in semi-arid
part of Northern
Kenya. We serve
the Samburu who
are Pastoralist and
practice nomadic
life.
10. A new church has been planted at Baraogoi in the northern part
of the Samburu district, bordering the Turkana area.
The foundation of a new church building is underway, with
hopes of a Friends Peace Center to be established.
Church Planting
11. Peace Building
• Friends are committed to
uphold Quaker peace
testimony in Samburu.
• For years the Samburu have
fought with neighbouring
Turkana and Pokot people.
• These ancient clashes are the
result:
– Limited grazing areas
– Scarce water resources.
– The practice of cattle rustling.
• Many innocent lives are lost.
12. The leaders of the Samburu
Mission are seeking to
establish a lasting peace by
– Proclaiming the message of
Christ’s peace.
– Engaging key tribal leaders.
– Hosting peace negotiations
among warring groups.
– And plan to teach AVP
(Alternatives to Violence
Program) classes.

17. Medical Care
Samburu Friends provide
medical care to the
community as away of
reaching out to our
neighbors with the healing
love of Jesus Christ.
Friends have one
Dispensary in Loltulelei
that serves approximately
10,000 people.
18. Losuk Upper Hill
Friends built a nice
dispensary at Upper Hill
in Losuk to serve both the
Samburu and Pokot
people. Unfortunately it
was destroyed during the
post-election violence of
2008. We are praying
about re-establishing
critical medical services in
this area.
