Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

2. INTRODUCTION
BIO-OXFORD is a Brazilian company that has been working in the area of Health
for the last 15 years and one of its main products is the “Child-foot Test”. Today,
this product has been spread all over Brazil and it is being applied to 90% of the new-
born babies.
Based on the same technology of child-foot test, Bio-Oxford has developed other
kinds of tests by also using philter paper for blood collection, so it is sufficient to
make a small punch on a finger to detect the following diseases:
SYPHILIS
HIV
HEPATITIS B and C
TOXOPLASMOSIS
RUBEOLA
HTLV 1+2
CHAGAS
CYTOMEGALOVIRUS
The advantages of this methodology are innumerable but we can emphasize the
following ones:
● The use of philter paper makes easier the access to remote places and offers a better
quality of diagnosis.
● It makes easier the surveillance and control of diseases of populational health programs
that are usually made by serologic methods. In addition, blood collection on philter
paper is a cheaper method, fit for collecting, stocking, transporting, handling and
keeping samples of blood for long periods, with the same safety and reliability of sero-
plasma samples.
● Important information: the conveyance of samples is made under environmental
temperature and they may be stocked until 90 days without any necessity of ice or any
other refrigeration, so the postage is the better means of transportation because the
sample collected on philter paper is not considered a biologic material. This is certainly
the way of reaching the population of low revenue.
2
4. 1. NEGOTIATIONS PERFORMED IN 2011
a) Study On Parturients Surveillance
Project of the Ministry of Health affording, for the first time, blood collection on philter
paper in 250 maternity wards of Brazil:
● 45.000 tests HIV...........................sale concluded
● 45.000 tests for Hepatitis B.......... on course
● 45.000 tests for Hepatitis C.......... on course
b) INDAIATUBA
PRENATAL: 24.000 tests
This sale has been made through a Bid won by Bio-Oxford. Notice that in spite of being a
small city, we could realize how important is this segment and how positive will be the sale
Promotion, even in small cities all over Brazil.
c) PARAÍBA
PRENATAL: 960.000 tests (on course) .
Paraiba is a small State in which we sold 960.000 tests through a Bid.
4
5. 2. PROJECTS UNDER WAY
a) State of São Paulo
We have proposed to benefit all the population, either in prenatal tests and in populational tests. The decision
has been to start by a “pilot project” and subsequently to implant the overall project, little by little.
Prenatal: 5.964.540 tests
Populational: 69.246.868 tests
b) Federal District (GFD)
Our proposal in the Federal District is being analysed for a positive implantation.
Pré- Natal: 60.000 tests
Populational: 1.662.422 tests
c) R E N A F I L T R O
Project of the Ministry of Health, viewing the creation of a centralized network of diagnosis in philter paper.
A network would be settled in each one of the five macro regions of the country and the blood collection will
be decentralized to all the municipalities of Brazil.
.
5
6. d) C N B B
Project in partnership with the Ministry of Health, viewing to attain the same population targetted by Renafiltro
through an implantation in three phases (initially at the North, Northeast and Center-West) and little by little
reaching all the further Brazilian municipalities.
e) The Brazilian Army
This Project views to carry out tests for HIV, SYPHILIS, HCV and HBsAg to all the effective 3 forces:
Army, Airforce, Navy, attaining also their families and all the retired militaries.
Estimated Population : Militaries and civil persons : 315.000 people
Their Families: 945.000 people
Total: 1.260.000 people
Patients attained: 1.260.000 people
For the time being we have two Proposals :
One from the Health Department of the Army
One from the Health Department of the Navy
The intention is to attain also the civil population assisted by the Army.
Example: rivers inhabitants of Amazone and Pantanal
Assisted Population: more than 1.000.000 people
The implantation of this Project has to be made by stages , taking into account the social conditions, and the
logistics needed for such a magnitude of event attaining all the national territory and requiring considerable
financial resources.
.
f) F U N A S A
This Project views to attain all the Brazilian Indian population estimated to be of 460.000 people
Target : 300.000 people between 16 to 59 years of age
Project’s total Patients: 300.000 people
6
7. g) MINISTRY OF JUSTICE ‐ PENITENTIARY
The Project is for medical surveillance of prisoners (prisons, jails, police stations jails) and refers to the 4 kinds
of diagnosis.
Target : 480.000 people
Note: our sales in Brazil are almost exclusive to governmental entities.
7
8. 3. PROPOSALS TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES
We believe that in Africa we have a great opportunity of introducing our technology.
Among all the African countries, we have only approached Angola and the result have
been the following:
Populational Survey: 32.800.000 tests
Prenatal Survey : 8.600.000 tests
8
