Mission Statement Students Advocating Financial Education is a volunteer based organization by students aimed at helping the community in the immediate Tallahassee area through financial education, as well as giving students an opportunity to earn volunteer hours and learn practical life experiences.
Mission Statement, cont. Our principal roles are: To understand the financial difficulties faced by the community, focusing on all age ranges within the lower and lower-middle class. To initiate creative and accessible ways to educate the community in personal finances through credible and professional teachers and sources.
Mission Statement, cont. To generate resources which can aid to continuing our organization’s offered education within the finance realm, as well as for philanthropic giving to individuals in the community To research credible improvements that could be made to the local economic atmosphere and act upon implementing them by available means.
What we will be doing Behind the scenes… Planning events Contacting the necessary people to make this happen: speakers, banks, credit unions, churches Looking for financial support: companies, philanthropies, etc.
So what will we really be doing? Creating ways to communicate information to people Workshops and Information Handouts
What Else? We will be planning and participating in fun and profitable fundraisers to give money to families in financial need.
Anything Else? The scope of this organization has a lot of room to grow. Partnering with other organizations for projects Litigation and political action Expanding to other Universities/High Schools?
Social Aspect Social events will be planned periodically, but will not use any of the funds raised by the organization. This by no means will be a social club. The goal of these events is to unwind and have fun, and will hopefully help member participation and retention, as well as communication and team building 
