The presentation below was given to the Orthodox Peace Fellowship [an endorsed organization of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of America] Annual Meeting, held in Madison, Wisconsin on September 16-18 2011. I have consistently written on forgiveness as central to the teachings and practice of Christ Himself and the necessity of our emulation of this forgiveness to bring peace to those around us and achieve our own sanctification. Many of these articles are posted on Orthodoxy Today [www.orthodoxytoday.org/archive/morelli] and the Antiochian Archdiocese [http://www.antiochian.org/author/morelli] website.

What is God Like? Brad Jersak introduces his latest book 'A More Christlike God'Paul Milbank
What is God like? 'Believers' and atheists alike often carry and finally reject the toxic images of God in their own hearts. Whether our notions of 'god' are personal projections or inherited traditions, author and theologian Brad Jersak proposes a radical reassessment, arguing for A More Christlike God: a More Beautiful Gospel. If Christ is "the image of the invisible God, the radiance of God's glory and exact representation of God's likeness," what if we conceived of God as completely Christlike—the perfect Incarnation of self-giving, radically forgiving, co-suffering love? The implications could be surprising and wonderful!

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

19. SCOTT HAHN
“Every Sacrament
produces its effects
by the power of
CHRIST ALONE, and
not at all by our own
labors or the labors
of the priest.”
21. There can be no religious
society, whether the
religion is true or false,
without some sacrament or
visible symbol to serve as
a bond of union.”
St. Augustine
SACRAMENTALS
22. These are SACRED SIGNS which bear a
similarity to the sacraments.They signify
effects, particularly of a spiritual nature,
which are obtained through the
intercession of the Church. By them men
are disposed to receive the chief effect of

DEUTERONOMY was referring to were
MOLECH and BAAL and other pagan idols
that had human sacrifices, and even had
temple prostitutes and sexual orgies as
religions celebrations.
49. For us CATHOLICS, we’re not praying
to the Statues. We are praying to
