The document discusses four ways to cultivate a deeper relationship with God: 1) Read the Bible to understand God's character and will through his word. 2) Pray to communicate thoughts, needs, and thanks directly to God. 3) Spend time with other Christians to encourage one another and learn about God together. 4) Share your faith so God can use you to show Christ to others. Making these practices part of life will lead to spiritual growth and a stronger relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.

“Being the right person to serve my future spouse’s needs and be a God-glorifying husband or wife”
"Acceptable" is such a loose term, so it's hard to say what is "acceptable" for any given person. After all, everyone is a different individual and their situations and maturity will vary greatly. Something that is acceptable for one person may not be acceptable for another.
Also keep in mind 1 Corinthians 10:23 (NIV), which says, "'I have the right to do anything,' you say—but not everything is beneficial. 'I have the right to do anything'—but not everything is constructive." We have many freedoms through Christ, but that doesn't mean that everything will be healthy or good for you.

From Call and the Covenant: The Story of David
A re-interpretation of the Apostle John's First Letter to the early Christians using open and inclusive spiritual language (ie 'non-religious' language) to make it more accessible to people who have been 'turned off' by the doctrines, dogmas and practices of the church.
This past Wednesday Christians came together to be marked on the forehead with ashes, beginning the 40 day journey of Lent. Most have figured out some favorite food or activity to give up, which is all well and good. But what about looking at the way we pray. Sure we come to church…we say our prayers at home…but do we pray as Jesus taught us how to pray?
The Gospel passage is of Jesus teaching his disciples on how to pray: stop babbling words for God already knows what you need; instead, go to your inner room, close the door and to pray in secret. What is Jesus talking about? What does that look like? What does that get me? How does that transform me…and others?

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
