A 62-year-old female presented to the emergency department with right-sided weakness and severe aphasia. On examination, she had right facial droop, right hemiparesis, and a positive Babinski sign on the right side. She was diagnosed with an ischemic stroke based on her symptoms and examination findings. Ischemic strokes are caused by blockages that interrupt blood flow to the brain, and prompt treatment is important to limit neurological damage. The prognosis depends on the severity of the stroke and presence of complications.
