Russian pies are popular in Poland and Ukraine. They are made of flour, water, eggs and salt with a filling of cottage cheese, potatoes, salt, pepper and onion. Traditionally, the pies would be fried rather than boiled as they are today. A recipe is provided that includes flour, egg, salt, water, milk, potatoes, cottage cheese, onion, and grease to make the dough and filling and instructions to boil then fry the pies.

3. A recipe for Russian pies
Ingredients:
flour, 1 egg, salt, water, milk, potatoes, cottage
cheese, 1 onion, grease, salt and pepper
Recipe:
Add hot water to flour. Mix with a fork. Add the egg
and salt.
Mix potatoes and cottage cheese. Add milk and onion.
Put the filling into the pie. Make small pies.
Boil for 8 minutes. Then you can fry the pies.
