Russian pies are popular in Poland and Ukraine. They are made of flour, water, eggs and salt with a filling of cottage cheese, potatoes, salt, pepper and onion. Traditionally, the pies would be fried rather than boiled as they are today. A recipe is provided that includes flour, egg, salt, water, milk, potatoes, cottage cheese, onion, and grease to make the dough and filling and instructions to boil then fry the pies.
