8th Std Social Science - Geography- Chapter 2. Land,Soil, Water, Natural Vegetation and Wildlife Resources.
Land is among the most important natural resources.
It covers only about thirty per cent of the total area of the earth’s surface and all parts of this small percentage are not habitable.
The uneven distribution of population in different parts of the world is mainly due to varied characteristics of land and climate.
The rugged topography, steep slopes of the mountains, low-lying areas susceptible to water logging, desert areas, thick forested areas are normally sparsely populated or uninhabited. Plains and river valleys offer suitable land for agriculture. Hence, these are the densely populated areas of the world.
Hi Everyone!
In this presentation you will get to know more about forest and wildlife. This basically covers what is a forest? What is a Wildlife? How we can conserve it? And many more things

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)

1. Rural Settlements
Rural settlements are places where there are villages and farms.
They have smaller populations than urban settlements.
They usually have one main function such as farming, mining, fishing or forestry.
3. Farming Settlements : the main occupation is producing food
from the land. There are small farms where people grow
different crops they need. They may also keep animals.
4. Fishing Settlements : the main occupation is catching or processing
fish. They develop on lakes or on the coast. Most of these villages
are poor.
5. Forestry Settlements : people here plant forests to supply them with
wood, which is important for building and making paper. Deforestation and
the destruction of natural forests, is an environmental problem.
6. Mining Settlements : the main occupation is mining. Often small and
rural. Some are located in desert or semi-desert areas that are not
suitable for farming or other human activities.
