Clip 1: Battle on Haifa Street, Baghdad, Iraq
The Battle of Haifa Street was a battle fought for the control of Haifa Street in January 2007. In the late 2007, Logan filed a report about fighting along Haifa Street in Baghdad. The CBS news refused to run the report on the nightly news because the footage was a bit strong. Logan tried to win the support of the public to counter that decision. Logan said that he would be very grateful if anyone had a chance to watch the story and pass the link on to as many people they knew. He wanted the story to be seen by everyone. Logan went on to use some of the Haifa Street material during a sixty minutes report about life in Baghdad under the.

Clip 1: Battle on Haifa Street, Baghdad, Iraq
The Battle of Haifa Street was a battle fought for the control of

Baghdad under the surge. This is legitimate journalism.
According to the power points a journalist is describe as
someone who subjects work to verification, makes a conscious
effort to maintain independence and is accountable. The primary
mission of journalists is to inform the public by collecting and
presenting information according to standards that define
journalism.
Clip 2: Fallujah CBS story
It is a report by CBS on the battle for Fallujah. The report
stated that an IED detonation was a lucky strike against US
military. I think this is a legitimate example of journalism. The
journalists gathered enough information for the media outlet
that disseminates the information through a broad medium like
the newspaper, magazine, television and motion picture. The
participating units were the American forces, the Iraqi forces
and the British forces. The journalists asserted that the
continuous slaughter in Fallujah greatly contributed to
escalating violence on other regions of the country. They also
revealed that violence prompted by the U.S. invasion resulted in
the assassinations of at least 338 Iraqi’s associated with Iraq’s
new government. The reporters gave the public more
information about the battle participants, proceedings and the
casualties. The journalist practiced verification, transparency,
acknowledged when they could not verify and acknowledged the
12. mistakes they made during their coverage.
Clip 3: My Iraq Music Video
This video is in the entertainment category. The goal of
entertainment is to amuse or engage people during their leisure
period in activities which they are passive participants.
I think this is a legitimate example of journalism because
pictures are used to relay the information to the public of what
actually happened in Iraq although there is no accountability of
the journalist. The information provided is verified by the
pictures shown. The journalist does not abide by the code of
ethics of the Society of Professional Journalist. That is there is
no accountability to the readers, listeners and the viewers. The
information given was useful in the end. The video showed the
violence that was experienced in Iraq. The video showed how
the forces were armed and the equipment used like the tankers
and the weapons. The journalist made an effort to maintain
independence. This video shows reliable information which is
also the truth.
