1. Rudyard Kipling Essay
Crafting an essay on Rudyard Kipling is no small feat, as it involves delving into the intricate
layers of the renowned author's life, works, and the historical context that shaped his writing.
Kipling's diverse body of work spans poetry, short stories, and novels, making the task of
encapsulating his impact on literature a challenging one. To do justice to such a multifaceted
figure, one must navigate through the complexities of his cultural influences, personal
experiences, and the evolution of his literary style over time.
Researching Kipling's life requires a careful examination of his upbringing in British India, the
societal norms prevalent during his era, and the ways in which these factors influenced his
perspectives. Analyzing his literary works demands a nuanced understanding of the themes,
motifs, and narrative techniques he employed, ranging from the adventure-filled tales of "The
Jungle Book" to the contemplative verses of "If—."
Furthermore, addressing the controversies surrounding Kipling, such as accusations of
colonialist undertones in his writings, adds another layer of difficulty. Engaging with these
critiques and offering a balanced perspective requires both sensitivity and critical acumen.
Moreover, the challenge lies not just in gathering information but in synthesizing it into a
coherent narrative that captures the essence of Kipling's contributions to literature. Balancing the
exploration of his artistic achievements with a discussion of the socio-political climate of his time
demands finesse and a keen awareness of the broader historical landscape.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Rudyard Kipling is an intricate task that requires meticulous
research, thoughtful analysis, and a deep understanding of the complexities inherent in his life
and works. Only by navigating through these challenges can one hope to present a
comprehensive and insightful exploration of this literary giant.

2. Beowulf As A Theme Of Pride In British Literature
Pride is a major concept in British Literature. This human emotion is used in a
variety of literary works throughout British Literature. There is a certain conflict
that can be seen in the written works. Pagan culture views pride an important
characteristic while Christianity sees pride as a deadly sin. Having pride is strongly
against Christian beliefs, which can be seen in British Literature but it can also be
seen that the characters in the different works have a strong sense of pride. Pride has
had some changes in the way it is portrayed in British Literature due to these two
different cultures. The concept of pride has revolutionized over the centuries. It is
important for one to understand what pride means to fully comprehend it. According

This epic is the oldest surviving Germanic epic as well as the longest and most
important poem in Old English ( Anglo Saxon Literature ). The character,
Beowulf, is a fearless warrior who fought the deadliest monster that no other man
was willing to take on. He was considered the strongest of all warriors so he was
called upon to kill the monster Grendel. Beowulf s pride can be seen when
Beowulf states my hands alone shall fight for me; struggle for life against the
monster (Raffel 48). Beowulf wanted to kill the beast with his bare hands because
Grendel would not be using a sword either. This shows how prideful he is of his
strength and his capabilities of being able to kill the monster with his bare hands.
After Beowulf kills the monster Grendel, kennings describe him as the mighty
protector of men and Edgetho s brave son ( Pride in Beowulf ). Although there is
pride shown in this epic, biblical concepts are also present. In the epic, it is stated
that Grendel, his mother, and other fiends, goblins, monsters, and giants are
descendants of Cain s clan, whom the Creator had outlawed/ and condemned as
outcasts (Raffel 44). The reference to Cain, son of Adam and Eve who murdered
his own brother Abel, shows how Christianity affected the literary works of the
pagan culture. The church s influence can also be seen when it is stated he
[Grendel] never dared to touch king Hrothgar s glorious throne, protected by God
(Raffel 45). While the pagan culture s depiction of pride is strongly seen in Beowulf,
the influence of Christianity is also seen with the references of God and the Bible

3. Analysis Of `` No One `` By Zora Neale Hurston And Toni...
No one says a novel has to be one thing according to Ishmael Reed. Literature, he
says, can be whatever it wants to be. While it is true that the nature of literature is
flux, to agree or disagree with his sentiments is the very core of an ancient debate:
how is literature to be critiqued. Literary theory is wide its proponents range from
deconstructionism and structuralism to aestheticism, and culturalism, flowing
through queer theory, gender theory, and race theory to name a few subsets of the
latter. The diversity in this theory is easily explained, as it stems from the own
diversity of writers and works that have been produced. The identities of these works
and their writers, however, becomes very important when choosing a method to
interpret and analyse their art. Tackling the works of black female writers such as
Alice Walker, Zora Neale Hurston, and Toni Morrison; and their respective magna
opera, The Color Purple, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and The Bluest Eye, it is
impossible to forget how their identities informed these narratives, especially when
discussing a method for criticism.
It is unsurprising that these works share many features, based on a strict ethos that
places the narratives of black women as written, revealed, and imagined by black
women authors. Themes, language use, and structure, inter alia, are common in these
novels; it is hard to find one more important than another. Nevertheless, these seem to
be connected by a common structural form: the

In this lab, the study of the kinetics of a chemical reaction will be investigated. One
of these reactions involved the oxidation of iodide ions by bromate ions in the
presence of an acid.
6I (aq) + BrO3 (aq) + 6H+(aq) в†’ 3I2(aq) + Br (aq) + 3H2O(l)
The reaction rate for this is slow at room temperature. The definition of reaction rate
is the rate of change in concentration of either reactants or products. It is dependent
on the concentration of the reactants and on the temperature. In a rate law, a
mathematical expression, the relationship between the reaction rate and the
concentrations of reactants can be demonstrated. For example, the rate law for the
rate of decrease in concentration of bromate ion would be:
Rate=( ∆[BrO_3^ ])/∆t=k[I^
6. Antibiotics Essay
Antibiotics have played a major role in our society thanks to Sir
Alexander Fleming s careful observations in 1928. Without it, many lives would be
in danger due to infectious diseases.
Antibiotics are chemical substances produced by various species of microorganisms
and other living systems that are capable in small concentrations of inhibiting the
growth of or killing bacteria and other microorganisms. These organisms can be
bacteria, viruses, fungi, or animals called protozoa. A particular group of these agents
is made up of drugs called antibiotics, from the Greek word anti ( against ) and bios
( life ). Some antibiotics are produced from living organisms such as bacteria, fungi,
and molds. Others are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This assures that the bacteria are either killed or reduced enough in numbers so that
the body can repel them. When too little antibiotic is taken, bacteria can often
develop methods to protect themselves against it . The next time the antibiotic is
needed against these bacteria, it will not be effective.
Taking in Antibiotics.
To work against infecting organisms, an antibiotic can be applied externally, such as
to a cut on the skin s surface, or internally, reaching the bloodstream within the body.
Antibiotics are made in several forms and given in different ways.
Topical. Topical application means to a local area such as on the skin, in the eyes, or
on the mucous membrane. Antibiotics for topical use are available in the form of
powders, ointments, or creams.
Oral. Tablets, liquids, and capsules are swallowed. The antibiotic is released in the
small intestine to be absorbed into the bloodstream.
Troches, or lozenges, are allowed to dissolve in the mouth, where the antibiotic is
absorbed through the mucous membrane.
Parenteral. Applications outside the intestine are called parenteral.
One form is an injection, which can be subcutaneous (under the skin), intramuscular
(into a muscle), or intravenous (into a vein). Parenteral administration of an antibiotic
is used when a physician requires a strong, quick concentration of the antibiotic in the
bloodstream.

7. Biography of Isaac Newton Essay
Isaac Newton was a key figure in the development of the age of reason. His
achievements revolutionized physics and mathematics and he has been
recognized as an undisputed genius (Gardner 13). Newton was a intriguing
individual who played an important role in the advancement of the scientific
community of his time and of today. Newton was born on Christmas day in 1642 to
a widowed farming mother. When he was three his mother left him in the care of
his grandmother, so she could remarry (Westfall 1). After being widowed for a
second time she came back to help care for her son. At the age of twelve he was
sent to The King s School in Grantham to continue his education. Here he began to
develop a growing love for books and an interest in... Show more content on

He also invented the methods of calculus and began his research of optics and the
color spectrum (da C. Andrade 50). The unfortunate thing about Newton s
astounding discoveries was that he never published any of them until later in his
life, which caused much conflict. This period was the prime of Newton s interest
in math and science, as time progressed his interest faded towards alchemistry
(chemical experimentation) and interpreting Biblical prophecy of which his written
works far outnumber those on natural philosophy and mathematics (Gardner 13).
Despite his in depth involvement in logic and natural philosophy, Newton still
passionately believed in the necessity of God. He felt that only a divine being
could create a universe of such harmonic balance, and that God periodically
intervened to keep everything intact and working properly (White 329). Newton s
character astounded some and outraged others. Newton was very withdrawn from
the world, all his works he studied and performed in isolation and seldom shared his
ideas with others. The delay of the publication of his works in natural philosophy
was due to his extreme fear of criticism. Newton s greatest work Philosophiea
Naturalis Principia Mathmatica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy),
often just called the Principia, wasn t published until 1686, after Edmond Halley had
convinced him to publish it despite Newton s fear of his devout critic, Robert Hooke
(Weisstein 1). Newton

Colombia, a country at the northern tip of South America. It touches both Atlantic

Spanish speaking country is very different towards the country I live in, America,
however, there are some similarities between the two. I will discuss the social life,
cultural, and economic reasons that each country the way they are in their own way.

groups represented in Colombia and the U.S. are white, blacks, and Ameridian. As for
the education, the U.S. the expectancy rate is 17 years and the literacy rate is 97.9%.
The Governments between the two are similar. Some economics problems within the
U.S. is healthcare, and education. Colombia s issues are more environmental.
However, strengths in the United States is hard work, the culture, and
entrepreneurship. Colombia shares 8 holidays with the U.S, for example,
Christmas, Mother s Day, Father s Day, New Year s, and a couple more. The foods
on the other hand show no similarities at all, the U.S. is known for real fatty food,
which is we are the most obese country in the world. Colombia does not have some
of the foods we do, like S mores, Chilidogs, Buffalo Wings, or Hamburgers, Colombia
is known for cuisine dishes for a party of people with tangy or spicy
9. Homeopathy In The Gilded Age Essay
Everybody hates going to the doctors. I can agree with this statement I also agree
that most people do indeed hate going to the doctors. But without them there would
be outbreaks and illness all over the place causing many fatalities. I am focused on
the Gilded age, one man I am particularly interested and focused on is Samuel
Hahnemann. Samuel was the creator of homeopathy. He believed that if you gave a
healthy person small doses of an illness their body would fight it off and build an
immunization and adapt to the real illness. This is where his theory Like cures like
comes from. Homeopathy was birthed of the idea Like cure like and went on to have
effects on all sorts of medicines and cures throughout the Gilded age. A treatment of...

bark. This caused symptoms of Malaria and it caused his body to adapt to the
chills, fever and other symptoms that malaria would cause. He got excited for a
while he only tested on himself but then moved on to do trials on his family. Also
along the way he started to gain fans, a group of followers that were willing to let
him test with them. The second treatment he wanted to find a cure for was small
pox. He had no clue of how to do so, but he gave one thing a try. He injected small
portions of cow pox to his wife. She began to get symptoms yes they were less
severe but this gave him a chance to create a section of homeopathy for small pox, a
huge breakthrough for medicine in this time. The bigger name medical schools and
physicians did not support Hahnemann. They believe that his methods were not
reliable and did not like that he could only put out one cure at a time and when he
gave out the medicine he only did so in small portions to where they could not get the
customers to pay high amounts limiting their
10. Characteristic Features of the Middle Ages Essay
Also called the middle ages, the medieval ages were influential in European history.
It dates between the 5th and the 15th centuries of european history. The beginning
of the period was marked by the collapse of Rome while its end was marked by the
end of Renaissance. The Roman Empire s fall bringing forth an idea of uniting Europe
in what was called Christendom, this was based on the beliefs of the church. Features
such as migration of people, invasions, population distribution, and deurbanization
characterized this period. The medieval ages had three periods, which include the

The Pope was the supreme authority while there was an emperor who was second in
the command. For example, Charlemagne served as the Roman emperor after being
elevated to the position by Pope Leo III. The church became powerful in many
aspects; the people were required to pay tithe to the church while there was
exemption of the church from taxation. The church went to the levels of owning
armies as well as cities in addition to playing a great role in the regulation of state
affairs. This period was characterized by spectacular art and architecture. The church s
position facilitated the development of structures such as cathedrals and monasteries
that served the entire religious and political leadership of the time. Some of the
economic and cultural developments that saw the development of the renaissance
took place around the 12th century. Economic power characterized by the
developments in art and architecture began shifting from eastern Mediterranean to
Western Europe. Apart from development of towns and cities, communication began
to be advanced as well as trade development saw the rise of rich merchants.
Agriculture was at the center stage of the developments, where cultivation of beans
increased exponentially. The resultant was an increase in population as well as the
disintegration of the preexisting feudal structures. The Gothic architecture and art
was developed to a greater extent in the 13th century.
11. My Favorite Experience In Life
I took a deep breath. I could hear casual laughter and murmurs as friends behind me
quoted classic lines from Billy Madison. How could they be so nonchalant? My
cue was coming up. What if I missed it? What if I tripped? What if I forgot my
lines? Worse yet, what if the audience glimpsed past the façade of my gregarious
character? What if they saw (and judged) the real me?
Somehow, through all my anxious chatter, I heard another voice in my head. The
voice of my encouraging father and his cognitive psychology. It s not fear; it s
excitement! Fear and excitement produce the same biochemical, so they re really the
same thing. It s just how you choose to view them. I repeated the thought. It s not fear
it s excitement. Slowly the pit in my stomach became an adrenaline rush. I heard my
cue and stepped on stage.
Yes, I am in theater, or I was, but I wouldn t consider myself a theater person. Sure,
I enjoy classic movie nights of Monty Python, Spinal Tap, Mel Brooks and Donnie
Darko. I enjoy my theater friends, and I enjoy theater itself along with all the other
humanities, but I m not very dramatic. In fact, I spend most of my life trying NOT to
be reactive or dramatic. And, I don t enjoy being the center of attention. I hate it.
As a child, I was so crippled by my shyness that whenever an adult (a waiter or a
friend s parent) would ask me a question, I would whisper my reply into my best
friend s ear. She served as an interpreter, or my spokesperson. By upper
12. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hedge Fund
Since investors cannot invest in a gauge of the hedge fund universe, it is crucial to
focus on the performance of individual funds. Do individual hedge funds beat the
market? Do they outperform mutual funds? Academic literature on the performance
on hedge funds does not provide a clear answer as to whether hedge funds
outperform the market. Moreover, there are a number of challenges facing
researchers wanting to explore this issue. Firstly, due to hedge funds unregulated
nature, unbiased data is hard to retrieve since only a small number of hedge funds
disclose their performance voluntarily. This problem is referred to as the
survivorship bias and refers to how the data available to researchers might be skewed
since only well performing hedge funds have the incentive to voluntarily declare their
earnings. Therefore, the data available will be missing those hedge funds that have
been shut down or liquidated (Ackerman, McEnally and Ravenscraft, 1999).The

Hedge funds may have strategies that yield payoffs similar to those of a company
which sells earthquake insurance; most of the time the insurance company makes no
payouts on its insurance policies and has a nice profit, but from time to time disaster

accumulative profits from good times. Though investors in an insurance company
know that it sells earthquake insurance, investors in hedge funds may find it
impossible to assess that the hedge fund takes the risk of large losses before these

In the normal eye, the aqueous humor is the fluid circulation within and that also
flows out via a drainage canal. When the outward flow is inhibited, there is a
buildup of ocular pressure inside that causes damage, and this is called glaucoma.
This condition can be traumatic for the patient as it has no cure. There are two
categories that will be discussed in this paper and they are open angle glaucomaand
closed angle glaucoma (The glaucoma you may be missing, 2013).
Closed Angle Glaucoma
Closed angle glaucoma (CAG), or acute glaucoma, stems from a narrowing or

of the eye examination and can be done using the pen light shadow test or the

17. Plato on the Parthenon Essay
Plato on the Parthenon
The philosophical ideas of Plato that relate to the Parthenon include whether the
structure is an element of the Visible World or the Intelligible World. In my opinion,
Plato would view the Parthenon as an object in the Visible World. The Parthenon is a
one of a kind monument that is tangible and exists in our real world. The Parthenon is
an architectural project and deals with forms of science and mathematics. Plato s
view of science and mathematics are categorized as forms in the Intelligible World,
which are intangible. Through analysis of illusory tactics, the Tripartite Soul, the

in architecture of the times. Several elements of the Parthenon follow nature based
models. The rectangular shape of The Parthenon was derived from the Golden Ratio
of 5:8, which can be seen in some flowers and nautilus seashells. The drums of The
Parthenon?s columns also have natural characteristics. Their diameter is similar to the
height of man. Plato?s view of compensation making The Parthenon ?less real? can
be contradicted with the nature based models that were used to construct it.
Plato?s view of Justice can be seen in his model of The Tripartite Soul. In this
model Plato outlines 3 sectors of his ideal society. This theoretical society is
composed of Guardians, Auxiliaries, and Producers. The Guardians were the upper
class citizens who had the authority to pass judgment. Guardians were rational and
wise, and could participate and become involved in politics. The Auxiliaries were
positioned as courageous citizens who helped preserve the spirit and emotion of a
society by ?protecting and serving? much like a modern day public works
department or police and fire squad. In the lowest tier of Plato?s ideal society were
the Producers, whose job it was to create. The Producers were to use temperance in
their lives, for they were classified as appetitive souls who could easily succumb to
bodily desires. The Producers were to practice asceticism, which is the eradication of
bodily desires.

To effectively find a way to become a preferred manufacturer and supplier in the

concise evidence along with not presenting an emotional appeal to connect with the
audience. Frank Bruni gives prominent evidence to back up his claim and referrers

purpose of education, but where is the connection between the audience and Frank? A
connection draws the audience in and allows them to feel more understanding with
the authors claim. In The Dangerous Safety of College the connection is unclear

Throughout the history, there was significant change that not only affected the
native country, but every corner in the world until now. A specific example of
change in a country was people choose a different type of government. Usually,
people were not satisfied with their original leader or regime. Therefore, new
leaders were selected. Unfortunately, these new changes can be both negative and
positive. With them come many leaders with different political theories and policies.
Two examples of these strong and influential leaders were Adolf Hitler in Germany
and Napoleon Bonaparte in France. They improved social economy and created
orders of society in their own land. Both emperors had different policies in ruling
their people. However, both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

People have different ways they like to prep their hair for braids. This is the way I
like to do mine. First I like to do is section my hair and scratch my scalp. This help
left any dandruff from the scalp. After that it s time to shampoo. I rinse my hair
first before I add the shampoo. I like to wash it at least two times. Once I have
rinsed the shampoo out its time to condition. Also I like to use a hot oil treatment.
The hot oil helps to keep it moisturized while your hairis braided. I put the hot oil
treatment in first. After I have it in I place a plastic cap on my head. I sit under the
dryer for ten minutes. Next I don t rinse out the oil I put the conditioner on. I go

Such a material would be infinitely reusable or recyclable.1 Perfect materials are
rare, but in practice, there are a growing number of green materials that reduce or
eliminate negative impacts on people and the environment. As manufacturers,
building professionals, and owners constantly strive for better buildings, we
encourage others in the supply chain to join us in pursuit of a better world.
Incorporating green products into a project does not imply sacrifice in
performance, or aesthetics, and does not necessarily entail higher cost. While one
can spend considerably more for green materials, careful shoppers will find cost
competitive environmentally preferable options. For example, a joint US EPA
/Army study of more than 2200 paints showed environmentally preferable options
cost an average of $1.76 less per gallon 2 gallon.
Considerations
This booklet offers simple suggestions to help select greener options for a wide array
of common materials, and provides references to resources for more detailed
information. For materials not included in this document, the checklist in the
appendix and the sidebars of pages 2 3 can help you to organize your analysis. The
evaluation of materials is based upon three questions: Is the material renewable and
resource efficient in its manufacture, installation, use, and disposal? Does the material
support the health and well being of occupants, construction personnel, the public,

24. Descriptive Essay About My First Car
My first car My journey began on a spring day, when my boyfriend at that time now
my husband said that is right time to buy a car. Even though I was 23 at that
moment, I had a feeling like I will be so independent despite the fact that from the
age of 18 years old I didn t live with my parents ,I traveled in Europe by myself and
I was already an independent person. In contrast with the US, in Russia the
minimum age to drive a car is 18 years old, but there is no much in a car because
the public transportation is cheaper and more convenient because it is close to
every location that you may need as well as lack of parking spots that make
parking seem endless. On the top of disadvantages, is the stereotype that the worst
drivers in Russia are females? These were my reasons why I started to drive only at
23, the perfect age when I just moved to US. The thought that I will have a car, my
own car, made me feel very confident in myself. Thinking about my future first car
made me so happy like I was a child expecting for Christmas gifts, unwrapping the
presents without any idea about what is inside of the box. Unlike a child, I knew
what is inside of the box, something that suits my budget, around 2 or 3 thousand. I
was searching a car not for its shape, color or model but by my budget. As every
first car owner I wanted a car that will be cheap in maintenance, with the lowest gas
mileage , new inside and outside and with a clean title. My dreams were destroyed
very fast, at the
25. The Impact Of Inventions On American Life And...
There is no question that certain inventions have had a humongous impact on shaping
our society today. They make our day to day lives uncomplicated and much more
efficient. Inventions have completely changed our lifestyles, to the point where some
people can t even imagine living without a telephone. With so many inventions in the
world it s hard to choose which ones have had the most influence on us. But I believe
the telephone, camera, and the airplane had the most impact on American life and
industrialization. One of the inventions that impacted industrialization and American
life is the telephone. It was invented by Alexander Bell and it changed the way people
/businesses communicated. Before the telephone people use to communicate by
letters, which use to consume a great deal of time. But because we have the

It was invented by George Eastman and you can capture images and videos that
could last a lifetime with a camera. For most Americans cherishing memories is
crucial to them. And the camera helps you do just that. You could take a picture on
April 8th, 2003 and come back to it years later. The camera is not only useful for
cherishing memories. You can use it for education, learning about our history, and
keeping up with what s going on in our society. Without cameras we wouldn t be
able to know major events that happened in the past. For example, imagine if there
were no pictures of the Holocaust, would as many people believe it happened? The
camera was important in industrialization because people could now have faster
way to capture significant moments in history without drawing or painting them.
Cameras are still a big part of our society today. They play big role in entertainment.
Also, because of cameras we can see what s happening in other parts of the world.
Overall the uses for a camera will always be vital in our current
26. The Creation Of Historical Formation
The emergence of Arabism has been an endless debate amongst scholars. The
primordialists claim Arabism is a creation of historical formation, whilst on the other
hand, the modernists refer to Arabism as a product of modernity. Similarly, the end
of Arabism is also contested. The orthodox position argues Arabism ended following
the defeat of 1967 and the death of Gamal Abdul Nasser, President of Egyptbetween
1954 70 (Ajami, 1978). Whereas, Kramer (1996) states the rise of political Islam
weakened the effectiveness of Arab unity. In more general terms, Arabism may be
viewed as an idealistic concept that offered unrealistic objectives, limiting its ability
to become successful (Farah, 1987). The definitions concerning Arabism can
sometimes be interpreted differently by scholars. For this essay, Arab nationalismand
Pan Arabismwill be discussed as similar entities, these terms can be defined as a
nationalist desire to seek a union of all Arabs in a single state. Whereas, Arabism can
be defined through more broad terms which encompasses a common identity between
Arabs, regardless of having a united Arab state or not. This essay will argue that
Arabism, including Arab nationalism and Pan Arabism failed due to a combination of
reasons. An ideology applied to an entire region, instead of a one nation state will
prominently be accompanied with complications. Within the Arab states, there is a
division of loyalties, competing ideologies and a disunited Arab front. For these
reasons,
27. The Nature Of Elizabethan Acting
ARTICLE 1
Elizabethan Acting Author(s): Alfred Harbage Source: PMLA, Vol. 54, No. 3 (Sep.
1939), pp. 685 708
The debate over the nature of acting during Shakespeare s time has been there for a
long time. As early as the 1950s there were speculations already of what took place on
Elizabethan stages. What was the nature of Elizabethan acting? There was the
controversial discussion that divided people into two schools of thought; the
formalist and the naturalist. The naturalists argue that those early days were
characterized by acting that was natural. Formalist has contrasting views that
Elizabethan acting was formal. A compromise is that Elizabethan acting was a
mixture of both formal and naturalism.
However, Alfred Harbage argues acting was either natural or formal. To determine
which style to look at, he defined and gave examples of the two different styles of
acting. He argues that whether acting is formal or natural, actors must create reality.
Acting had to be perfected and their presentation never changed even with time.
Harbage argues that acting may be natural to one audience but the same could be
formal to another audience, that one was a logical alternative to the other. Alfred
Harbage wrote that there are no explicit differences in two styles of acting and the
two could have been present in the Elizabethan period.
He argues that Natural acting strives to create an illusion of reality by consistency on
the part of the actor who remains in character and tends

Wilson has changed. He s not the same person, he once was. I personally think that

Wilson has changed. He is now caring and thoughtful. He no longer boasts or argues.

29. Medea Greek Theatre Essay
Medea, written by Euripides, is a play laced with elements of Greek theater. The
play centers around Medea, whose husband, Jason, has left her and their children for
the princess of Creon. Medea must struggle with these events and the course of action
she decides to take; killing her and Jason s two sons in order to make him feel her
misery. These events employ several elements of Greek theater, including;
transcending cultural and temporal boundaries, specifically that of difficult
relationships and painful decisions, women fighting misogyny and the patriarchy, and
the use of chorus in order to give insight into events and characters.
Medea is able to transcend cultural and temporal boundaries by telling the story of
difficult romantic relationships and the making of painful decisions. These elements
of Greek theatre are relevant throughout the play as the audience is shown the
complicated relationship between Medea and Jason and the difficult decisions made
by this relationship. Medea and Jason are a prime example of a difficult romantic
relationship; Jason has left Medea and their two children for another woman, leaving
her alone to mourn her lost love. Medea is enraged by Jason s ... Show more content

The chorus is used frequently throughout the play to clarify events, characters
emotions and add a voice of reason. During Medea and Jason s fight the chorus
recognizes that Jason has a good case but that he is still not in the right; Jason, you
have set your case forth plausibly. / But to my mind though you may be surprised at
this / You are acting wrongly in thus abandoning your wife. (10) Here the chorus
serves to give the audience insight into the fight and taking place. At the end of the
argument the chorus gives insight into the despair Medea is feeling about her exile.
The chorus is a key part in the audience attaining a greater understanding of the
characters, events and overall
30. Merging Between Two Competing Companies
Question One
The merging between two competing companies often results in increase in their
market power. Although the merging of two top competitors and the giants in the
market can raise suspicious activities, this isn t the case in our scenario. The
merging has being to the advantage of the customer who is always the top priority
in the market industry. Although the merging has significantly boosted the quality
of the package provided to the customer to produce a more robust package, the
price of the product has remained the same at $3.00 per piece and in some
instances; most of the products are being sold at a discount (Ravenscraft Scherer,
2011). There are also more options for the customers to choose from and settle for the

They provide that such kind of merging could harm the customers by increasing our
market power and eliminating the concept of free and fair trade. However, this isn t
the case with our situation as the merging of the two firms will not result in a
monopoly situation that stands out to hurt the customer (Ravenscraft Scherer, 1989).
On the contrary, the customers will still receive the products at the price per share
and as our strategy declares, there will be maximized discounts for the customers
something that our company couldn t provide individually.
On the other side, although the market power will significantly increase, our
company still remains dominant in the industry compared to the other firm and this
eliminates the idea of coercive monopoly. We will remain at the upper side of the
deal and our firm will be in charge and dominate the market shares. Our business
results over the past couple of years before the merge have revealed that we
registered prominent lose in market share. We operated at almost a loss and lost a
significant share of the market. However, although the concept of free trade would
assume that this market shares landed in the hands of our competitors, this wasn t the
case as our competitors held the same tiny market share we did and the rest was left
unexplored. The market shares were left untouched and unexplored.
This condition left us disadvantaged and minimized our overall revenues. However,
the merging of the

On August 31, 1997, Princess Diana was a passenger in a car being driven at high
speed by a drunk chauffeur. The Mercedes smashed into a concrete pillar in a
tunnel, killing the driver and Diana s boyfriend, Dodi Al Fayed, instantly. Diana
died four hours later in hospital. Diana s sudden death was shocking news to many
people around the world. Her death was caused by a car accident, although was it
really an accident? Or was it planned? Most people believe she died from a reckless
accident, which is not true; Princess Diana was murdered. There are many
conspiracy theories about the death of the princess 19 years ago in Paris. One
theory about the cause of her death concludes that Diana was killed on the orders of
the royal family because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

32. Food Waste Disposal and Reduction
According to the Society of St. Andrew the United States spends about 1 billion
dollars a year just to dispose of food waste (1). Food waste is food material that is
unable to be eaten or sold which is discarded as trash. Food should be too precious
to Americans to waste. It nourishes people s bodies and brings families together,
and they treat food as if it has little to no worth. Food is discarded on farms, while
being transported and in retail stores before being sold; it is also discarded in
everyday households. Americans are their own enemy, increasing food waste
everyday by not being aware of the outcome. Reducing food waste will bring upon
many benefits within society but consumers and businesses have to be willing to
put forth the effort. There are simple solutions that can be implicated in
production, distribution and households in order to decrease food waste. The
quality of food in society has declined due to its accessibility. There are convenient
grocery stores in a communities selling food. There is an enormous amount of
people suffering from poverty and hunger. There are 854 million people in the
world who are chronically malnourished. (Sanchez 1). People suffering from world
hunger, do not receive enough intake of nutrients that are composed in food, some
do not eat at all receiving no nutrients. The increase of food waste is decreasing
other natural resources like water, land, and energy. Landfills are becoming more
popular, the thrown out food has to be
33. Immigrant Migration
There are two types of migrants, especially families, that have been affected by
IIRIRA, legal migrants and illegal migrants. It is the different treatment of these two
migrants under the law for family reunification benefits that create a hierarchy of
mixed status families, which prioritizes wealthier, fairer and better educated
migrants over those who are low income, non white and less educated. The profiles
legal migrant spouses, such visa overstaying and legal permanent residents, are
vastly different than the profiles of undocumented spouses entering the border
illegally. Migrants seeking any type of temporary visa for the US is required to
prove sufficient funds to cover all costs of the trip and intent to depart after the
completion of one s trip (Bureau of Consular Affairs).... Show more content on

Section 245(a) enacted prior to IIRIRA allows eligible immigrants, those who entered
legally and fell out of status, to adjust their immigration status from within the US,
this often reduces the time and costs needed to change one s status without having to
be separated from one s family. However, undocumented spouses, who did not enter
the US legally, must adjust their status through Consular Processing. Upon leaving
the country, the undocumented spouse triggers the 3 or 10 year (sometimes
permanent) bars. Given that these migrants are from a lower socioeconomic
background, the time away from their families and partaking in the immigration
process results in loss earnings and debt, this is a reason why most undocumented
migrants are hesitant to start the immigration process unless they are forced to, by
providing their information they risk being separated from their families forever.
Thus, the 3 year and 10 years bars disproportionately affect the undocumented
spouses of US citizens than it does visa overstaying spouses of US
34. Why Is Forensic Biology Important In Criminal
Investigation
Forensic biology is very important to many criminal investigations by being able to
use scientific evidence in entomology, odontology, anthropology, DNA testing,
serology, toxicology, microbiology, and pathology. These different subfields are to
provide an unbiased result that can identify a suspect, a victim, eliminate a suspect,
exonerate the wrongly accused, corroborate a timeline of events, establish a time and
cause of death, or even identify a weapon. Forensic biology should be applied to the
discovery of bones, decomposing corpse, sexual assault, and unusual deaths. When an
unidentified set of remains are discovered with very little evidence surrounding the
mysterious death, forensic odontology may be able to use the teeth of the... Show

If a set of bones are discovered and determined to be over 100 years old I do not
think it would be worth the taxpayer s money to invest in the attempt to identify
someone who has been deceased over 100 years. This also includes not to invest in
facial reconstruction either. It is one thing to determine the age of the bones, but
DNA and other biologic studies should be used on more current investigations of
the dead and alive. I think that sometimes it really depends on the circumstances to
determine whether to performing expensive DNA, serological, odonatological,
anthropological, and even entomological examinations is worth the time of
analysts, materials, and equipment. Right now, we have a backlog of rape kits and
DNA evidence that waits to be tested, these are the priority since we have a better
chance solving a more recent case versus something over 100 years old. I think as
time goes on the processes for analyzing DNA, etc. will become more automated,
along with the cost of the supplies to do rape kits, DNA swabs, etc. With more
competition or manufacturers to push for their forensic biology products or
equipment, cost will no longer be an issue in the

Have the Right Actions been Taken?
A Communication Analysis of the Waterview Connection Development
Introduction
Grunig (2013) sees public relations and communication management as fundamental
to the achievement of organisational goals. A major road and tunnelling project in
West Auckland, has required considerable planning and communicationalongside its
publics. The Waterview Connection Development (WCD) is a motorway connection
between State Highways 16 and 20, which, in part, runs as tunnels. The WCD links
between the central business district and the airport, and an alternative to State
Highway 1.
This essay critically assesses how the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) has
communicated with publics throughout the WCD. It analyses the communication
activity, and applies public relations theory.
Key Publics
Major publics with a distinct interest include residents with properties affected by the
noise and possible shifts of land, road users who may experience delays during
building, and businesses that may lose of revenue if customers find it difficult to
access them. Mehta and Xavier (2009) note engagement relationship strategies used
with various publics may be different to each other and during different parts of the
project. Managers will need to negotiate with residents, road users and business
owners to minimise disruptions.
All affected sections of Auckland s multicultural population should be included in the
organisation s publics. The diversity
36. The Rise Of Feudalism
Feudalism a social system of duties and rights on land tenure and personal
relationships in fief lands by vassals that came from lords to which they owe very
specific services, and to which they are bounded by personal loyalty. Feudalism
started in the definite form in the lands of Frankish in the century of the 9th and the
10th. In a long disagreement with scholars whether the institutional basis was with
Germanic or Roman. It could be said that feudalismstarted from the disintegration of
the Roman institutions and the disruption of Germanic settlement and inroads.
Feudalism rose in areas that were formerly dominated by Roman institutions that
meant the breakdown for the central government. The regions that were not
dominated by the Roman... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In England feudalism was at its strongest when it was first introduced. The defeat of
Harold at the Battle of Hastings gave feudalism a really strong start in the country
since none of the people of England agreed to a feudal government system the system
was strong because it was basically forced upon them. Another point where feudalism
was strong in the country was with its army. Since the country had been divided into
several plots, each plot had its own army therefore when all armies united to fight as
one county the army was big. Another strong point was that England was that the
barons did not get in the way of the life routine of the peasants as much as other
countries did. In and around their close locations they functioned efficiently. Another
strong point that feudalism had in England was that the country had relative
prosperity to pass down to its people. The nobles needed to recruit archers and
soldiers from their lands. They couldn t be completely greedy and sustain support.
When the nobles went too far there were many moments of rebellion among the
commoners. A weak point that the feudal government system had England was that
the country could not count on support and revenue in times of crisis. Eventually this
cost the continental possessions in France. The weak point for a weak monarch was
that the nobles would rise against him and further limit his

the RMS Lusitania, and the Cunard Line s captain assigned for the vessel, William
Turner, is standing in uniform, facing towards America. He raises a glass of port
to a safe voyage, and the whole room follows suit. The chamber orchestra begins to
play a fast paced, lighthearted tune. You are a war correspondent, and you believe
that something is astray with Will Turner. 30 minutes into the festivities, the
captain disappears. Nobody notices but you, of course, because you vowed not to
drink a drop of spirit in your life at 12 years, and have held true to that promise for
24 years running. You can t help but notice, however, that he left quite abruptly, in
a queer manner, and without pretense. Prior to this, he was nervous, checking his
pocket watch frequently. You didn t suspect anything, but stayed wary. He returned

who checks if all the 1st class passengers are unharmed. Annoyed and perplexed, you

38. The Pros And Cons Of Cyber Crime
Cyber crime is criminal activity done using computers and the Internet. This ranges
from downloading illegal music files to offenses, such as creating and distributing
viruses on other computers or posting private business information on the Internet.
Perhaps the most outstanding form of cyber crime is identity theft, in which
wrongdoers use the web to steal personal information from other users. One of the
most frequent ways this is done is through phishing. This method entices people to
fake websites (that appear to be legitimate), where they are asked to enter information
about themselves. This includes inputting information, such as usernames and
passwords, mobile numbers, addresses, credit card numbers, and other information
criminals can use to gain another person s identity. Many people in developing
countries are getting attracted towards because of high unemployment and low wages
. (Kshetri, 2010)
Another way this is done is through the use of viruses, There is a number of ways
that you can get a virus on your computer while on the other side someone is able to
access all the data in your machine. One of the most common way on how this is
done is when an attachment is sent to you on email or any other social networking
site and when you open it, your machine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a wrongful act to commit. More often than not it is also not clear which laws
are being broken. Cyber crime covers a wide range of wrong doings that are done
using the web and the very same web which has made our lives easier has also
complicated stuff because there are people out there who like to take advantage of
unsuspecting people. Also sadly it is sometimes difficult to trace the person/s who
is or are doing it. So it is smart to protect yourself using anti viruses and spyware. In
developing countries they are not too keen on the laws broken unless it is a major
cyber crime committed so it is always best to be

40. Additiona Post Impressionism
It is a common theme for groups of artist to revolt against their predecessors and the
common standards that the pervious community of artist held. This is seen repeatedly
from the ancient Greeks, whose bronze and marble sculptures developed around the
perfection of the male human form, to the transition to the Romans their ideas
followed the individual they sculpted busts of the great leaders and the common
people of many different ages showing the uniqueness of all of them. This change
was also apart of the architecture, Greek temples focused decorations on the outside
of the temples on the metopes with sculptures, almost in the round, to show visitors
the wealth of their towns were as the Romans focus the the decorations on the inside
they were showing off for themselves.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally a more recent and immediate example of this happening is the
progression from impressionism to post impressionism, both share the use of vivid
colors, everyday objects and settings, as well as thick application of paint, but the post
impressionism movement rejects the spontaneous and naturalistic rendering of light
and color that the impressionistic

In life bad things happen, and if you give up, the problem stays. If you don t work
hard and leave it, it doesn t get solved. In the short story Attack by Ralph Fletcher, a
family of roosters are attacked, and go missing. In this story the characters show
perseverance by never giving up on the roosters, taking time, and rebuilding the

possible solutions that would take work, time, effort, and dedication. The first way

with worry, they showed perseverance through patiently awaiting their return.

Recently, poetic is the focus of studies in translation. No matter in Chinese or in the
western countries, the meaning of poetic has experienced change.
The source of poetic can be dated back to the work Poetic by Aristotle. This book
consists of two volumes of which only the first volume is handed down. The first
volume discusses a series of theoretical problems such as the human nature, art
imitation, the function of tragedy, the association of plots, the similarities and
differences between tragedy and epic. The name of Aristotle s Poetic is Poietike
Techne . This book focuses on studying literature creation, especially on tragedy
which is at its peak in the classical Greek literature(吴涛2011:103 108). As time
goes by,the connotation of poetic has changed. It not only involves the poetry and
tragedy ,but also deals with other forms of literature. So poetical connotation gets
enriched when applied to the field of translationпјЋ

43. The Bystander Effect In Night By Elie Wiesel
38 people witnessed Catherine Genovese get stabbed, in three separate attacks, over
a period of 35 minutes in Queens. Even as the assailant returned twice to finish off
the job people still did nothing to intervene. This is called the bystander effect. This
is a psychological phenomenon that describes the decrease in a person s likliness to
help someone in need when there are other witnesses around. As found in most
everyday crimes, the bystander effectwas also found during the Holocaust. In Night,
by Elie Wiesel, the bystander effect is revealed due to one s inability to help others in
need because of fear they will be persecuted as well. The Jews of Sighet did nothing
to help the foreigners being expelled from the area, Elie could not... Show more

I kept silent. In fact, I thought of stealing away in order not to suffer the blows
(Wiesel 54). This is a prime example of the bystander effect because it shows a
witness that is frozen and unable to act for a certain reason. In this situation Elie
can not help his father because he knows that if he does, then he will suffer a
beating as well. He would rather slip away then help his father in order to escape a
beating. Fear locks Elie as a bystander unable to act but only watch. Prisoners
during the holocaust normally could do nothing to help family, friends, and
stranger who were falling victim to the Nazi regime. Many times they had to
watch as their fellow prisoners were beaten and killed but could do nothing about it
due to their fear. Elie describe what happened at the gallows when the young boy
was hung, Then came the march past the victims. The two men were no longer alive.
Their tongues were hanging out, swollen and bluish. But the third rope was still
moving the child, too light, was still breathing... (Weisel 65). After the execution
each prisoner had to walk past the boy, but yet again could do nothing but watch
him die. They knew that if they help the child then they would either be beaten or
even worse, killed. These prisoners once again fall victim to the bystander effect
because they are unable to help someone in need because of their own
