On November 13, 2014 at Grossmont College s Child Development Center, I
observed Konnor who was born on March 11, 2011. At the center, there are roughly
around 15 children between the ages of three and five; there is one adult for every
six or so kids. The preschool center s indoor environment is safely secured with a
locked gate that separates the outside door which leads to the younger children
centers and parking lot with the hallway to the learning and play area. There are two

shown in the scene where he refuses to retreat from Grendel s home, even when in
the face of death. Instead of retreating from battle to spare one s life, warriors were
taught to believe only in remaining in battle and defend their people. If one was to
perish in battle, they would be forever remembered as a heroic being. When
Unferth is on the brink of death, he explains such notion to Grendel, telling him to
kill him so that he may die as one of the most worthy, at the hands of the beast.
Quote Grendel responds to this by threatening to take him back down to the mead
hall, and action that would ironically humiliate Unferth. Another scene where this
notion of kill or die trying is seen in one of the latter scenes in the poem. In an
attempt to slay the dragon for terrorizing his people, Beowulf heads to his lair, but
when confronted by the beast, all of Beowulf s warriors cower in fear and flee. As

The last composer is Vladimir Horowitz, he was a American pianist. He was
recognized as the greatest piano virtuoso of the 20th Century. His mother gave him
piano lessons at a young age. His father changed his birth year to 1904 so he could
avoid military service so he could protect his hands. Vladimir was known for his
technique and ability to create excitement in his music. Horowitz performed
different types of music like concertos. He died of a heart attack in 1989. All of
those pieces from the different composers I mentioned were really good and i
enjoyed the concert a lot, because Stephen Bues is a great pianist and he did a
awesome job. My favorite piece would have to be Fur Alina because of how he
made something so short sound so beautiful. My least favorite piece will have to be
Chaconne in D Minor because of the notes, they were low and depressing. The
information that I learned in class has helped me be able to actually put vocabulary
words with the pieces that he played, it helped me understand what was going on. If I

Abstract This paper deals with the different motors used in the hybrid electric
vehicles. The performance like the efficiency of induction motor, internal permanent
magnet motor and switched reluctance motor is studied. In recent years permanent
motors are often used for driving HEV. This paper compares the characteristics of
Permanent Magnet (PM) motor with Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) and
Induction Motor (IM) and gives us prospects for future development of HEV using
these motors.

They also use regenerative braking that converts kinetic energy of the vehicle into
electrical energy that charges the battery rather than wasting that energy in form of
heat energy as conventional brakes does. The HEVs produces comparatively very
less emissions from its ICE than a gasoline car. Many HEVs reduces emission by
turning off the ICE at idle situation and then restarting when needed.
This paper compares the characteristics and performance of IM, SRM and interior
permanent magnet drive motor (IPM). HEVs were not widely available until the
launch of Toyota Prius in 1997 in Japan, which was followed by Honda Insight in
the year 1999. The data related to design for IPM is taken from the report on
Toyota Prius HEV 2004 [1] and the comparison done with IM uses same design of
the stator. Mostly it is said that PM motor are the best match for the HEVs in terms
of performance and efficiency. This is despite that induction motors and SRM
have been used in cars like Tesla and General Motors. Also the SRM and IM have
an advantage over PM motor in terms of manufacturing cost and durability. SRM is
the perfect magnet free alternative as suggested in [2] and offers zero field coasting
and controllable flux. Hence, the IM and SRM offer more flexibility of controlling

The paper also reviews some machine considerations like a SPEED model [3] using
PC BDC and PC FEA for the Toyota Prius 2004 motor model and is also validated
