Christian Dior started his career in 1935 selling hat sketches in Paris. In 1938 he was hired by Robert Piguet and in 1946 launched his first collection, debuting his highly popular "New Look" line in 1947 which featured rounded shoulders, cinched waists, and full skirts. Dior went on to become the most influential fashion designer of the late 1940s and 1950s, establishing Dior as a global brand known for its variety of products.
